SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Triple H returned to the weekly sit-down interview forum with Michael Cole Wednesday on WWE’s website.

Hunter, in-character as heel authority figure, dropped an interesting storyline hint about the winner of the WWE Title tournament at Survivor Series being willing to “do things you wouldn’t expect.”

Hunter added, “The opportunity is still there. Somebody will be crazy enough to take that opportunity,” referring to the slot that Roman Reigns turned down on Raw. “Somebody is willing to do absolutely anything to be The Man.”

This followed a one-sided discussion of Hunter believing Reigns “does not get what it takes to be a champion,” because Reigns did not join The Authority and be the new man, replacing Seth Rollins.

Hunter said Rollins understood it, and all it would take for Reign is a “slight change of attitude” to get everything he wants – his first WWE Title. Hunter said it’s Reigns’s choice to go at it alone.

If not Reigns, Hunter was asked who he thinks will win the WWE Title tournament. Hunter named Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, and Alberto Del Rio as candidates. He said maybe even someone like Kalisto will “do the unthinkable” and go all the way to the finals.

“I’m much more sure about who won’t be the winner,” Hunter said.

There was no sense of Hunter dogging Rollins following his knee injury to set up a babyface return. Hunter called it bad luck after Rollins overcame every obstacle The Authority put in his path to validate their faith in him.
