– WWE has a split crew Saturday night in Fayetteville, N.C. and Augusta, Georgia. Dean Ambrose headlines the show at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, with tight security. Also scheduled are IC champion Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Ryback, Bray Wyatt, Rusev, and Tyler Breeze.

– It’s another huge night on the independents. The Kliq continues its Big Time Wrestling tour in Danbury, Conn. … Chikara has their 2015 season finale at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia. … AIW tours Cleveland with Colt Cabana vs. Kikutaro … the annual “Blizzard Brawl” has a loaded line-up with Booker T, Abyss, Tommy Dreamer, Chyna, and more stars. … Val Venis and A.R. Fox are at Legacy Wrestling. … Dreamwave is in the Chicago area with “Road Warrior” Animal. … Ricky Morton is at Metro Pro. … There are two “Toys for Tots” benefit shows in New Jersey. – With WWE in North Carolina on Saturday, the News & Observer talked to Divas champion Charlotte (Ashley Flair) about her quick rise to the top of WWE’s women’s division. The newspaper also ran a one-line quote on the distasteful Reid Flair angle last month. “It’s not the first time people’s real lives have come into play,” Charlotte was quoted.

Charlotte also talked about wanting to be the female version of The Rock. “Honestly I can’t believe I’m here today. Where I’m going to be in three years, I’m sure I’ll be blown away,” Charlotte said.

– WWE NETWORK HIGHLIGHTS: A new episode of “This Week in WWE” premieres at 3:00 p.m. EST. The rest of the streaming content on Saturday is programming from earlier this week and select tape library shows.

– WWE tag champion Big E. talked to Brian Fritz of Sporting News about Iowa competing in the Big 10 college football championship against Michigan State on Saturday night. Big E., who played for the Hawkeyes a decade ago, said he’s proud of the current team proving people wrong.

“I don’t think a lot of people really predicted it to be a 12-0-type season, but it’s very cool to see. It’s one of the toughest Iowa teams that I can remember seeing. It’s pretty remarkable so I’m quite proud to go out and watch these guys play their best and deal with a lot of difficulties and adversity,” Big E. said.

– Former WWE tag champion Titus O’Neil’s Florida Gators are also playing on Championship Saturday, facing Alabama in the SEC title game. O’Neil talked to Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald about all of the big football match-ups, coaching changes, and WWE locker room allegiances.

Prescription Thugs– Former WWE star Luther Reigns (Matthew Wiese) is set to appear in a new documentary called “Prescription Thugs.” The movie was directed by Chris Bell of the 2008 “Bigger, Stronger, Faster” documentary.

The new movie, which includes MMA fighter Chris Leben, is scheduled for theatrical and on-demand release on January 22.
