SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

TORCH TODAY – Sunday, January 10, 2016

– WWE wraps up this weekend’s tour in Monroe, Louisiana with Chris Jericho & IC champion Dean Ambrose and Mobile, Alabama with WWE World Hvt. champion Roman Reigns. (Torch Reader Alert: We’re looking for results sent to pwtorch@gmail.com.)

– WWE is continuing to push the news of Shinsuke Nakamura and “The Bullet Club” signing with WWE. The top story on their website focuses on the four stars (Nakamura, A.J. Styles, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows) joining a list of “the biggest signings in WWE history.” As we’ve documented this week, New Japan owns the trademark for “Bullet Club,” but WWE made a new filing for “Balor Club” this week.

– A new episode of Steve Austin’s “Broken Skull Challenge” airs tonight on CMT. The episode has garnered a lot of newspaper coverage focusing on the contestants taking part in the episode leading to the Skullbuster. Included is a paralegal from Los Angeles, who does CrossFit training, and another CrossFit enthusiast.

– Odds are starting to come out for the Royal Rumble now that it has been announced that the WWE Title will be defended in the Rumble. International oddsmakers have pegged the defending champion, Roman Reigns, as the favorite to win the Rumble, followed by Triple H and Brock Lesnar. There’s also the option to bet on Vince McMahon.

In Las Vegas, Bovada is also going with Reigns, Hunter, and Lesnar. They added a goofy list of wrestlers to vote on, where El Torito’s odds are slightly better than “Stone Cold E.T.” (Thanks to PWTorch correspondent David)

– TNA announced a poll to determine which U.K. wrestler is added to the European Tour at the end of the month. The options are top independent wrestlers Will Ospreay, Big Damo, or Jimmy Havoc. The poll is on TNA’s website.

Mickey Gall, the MMA fighter lined up to potentially face C.M. Punk in UFC, continues to talk about wanting to fight Punk, vowing to end Punk in the first round. “I’m supremely confident. I think I’m made for this fight, it’s a dream opportunity. I did think I’d get to the UFC one day but didn’t think it would happen this quick but I’m extremely ready. If this comes to fruition, I’ll be a happy man,” Gall told Fox Sports.

Devon Dudley talked to NOLA.com about Monday’s Raw in New Orleans, the Dudleys reuniting in WWE, having a shot at the WWE Title in the Royal Rumble, his family’s ministry background inspiring his “Testify” catchphrase, the history of tag team wrestling, and other topics.

NOAH Results for Saturday & Sunday with big developments in the NOAH vs. Suzuki-Gun feud featuring the New Japan stable via PuroresuSpirit.net.
