SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE is going with A.J. Styles as the #2 biggest story coming out of the Royal Rumble behind Triple H winning the Rumble to become WWE champion.

WWE’s website is featuring a big WWE introduction to Styles, including his first WWE interview. WWE also released a new line of A.J. Styles merchandise along with new t-shirts for Triple H and Austin Aries, who made his WWE debut at the NXT TV taping on Friday.

WWE is calling Styles a “game-changer.” WWE added: “After conquering the independent circuit and Japan, A.J. Styles wants to show WWE why he’s so phenomenal. Hold on tight.”

In a video interview recorded before the Rumble, Styles talked about wanting to see how the audience reacts to his arrival and feeding off the energy of the audience after “rumors swirled” for three weeks about whether he’s coming to WWE as a free agent.

WWE also released a post-Rumble video interview with Styles, who talked excitedly about his Rumble debut, except for not winning. Styles said he has a “couple more years” to get the job done and become WWE champion, implying he signed on for more than one year with WWE.

  1. Choosing Orlando to debut Styles was a smart move. That crowd would be well aware of him through his time at TNA. I think they should’ve allowed him to last longer in the Rumble, though.
