Ring of Honor made it official on Thursday that outgoing New Japan star Shinsuke Nakamura will not be part of ROH’s 14th Anniversary PPV in February in Las Vegas.

Nakamura was the first New Japan star announced for the Vegas PPV. However, WWE made it official on Wednesday that he has signed with WWE by introducing Nakamura in a video promo at the NXT TV tapings in Florida.

ROH announced: “Many Ring of Honor fans were looking forward to ‘The King of Strong Style’ Shinsuke Nakamura appearing throughout Ring of Honor’s 14th Anniversary Weekend. It is with great regret that we must inform our fans that Nakamura will no longer be competing the weekend of ROH’s 14th Anniversary.”

ROH said they are working with New Japan on a replacement for Nakamura from the NJPW roster. ROH teased an announcement “in the coming days.”

Additional New Japan stars announced for the weekend include IWGP World Hvt. champion Kazuchika Okada (w/Gedo), Tanahashi, IWGP Jr. Hvt. champion KUSHIDA, and former NEVER Openweight champion Tomohiro Ishii.
