WWE Roadblock PPV News & Notes

– Triple H retained the WWE World Title over Dean Ambrose in the main event of the Network special Saturday night in Toronto.

Ambrose appeared to win the match and the WWE Title when he scored a clear three count on Hunter following Dirty Deeds. However, the story was the referee ruled that Ambrose’s feet were under the ropes as he made the pin.

A few minutes later, Hunter caught Ambrose with The Pedigree to score the win.

– No other titles changed hands. New Day retained the WWE Tag Titles over The League of Nations, Charlotte retained the Divas Title over Natalya, and NXT tag champions The Revival retained the NXT Tag Titles over Enzo Amore & Big Cass.

– Brock Lesnar’s match against Bray Wyatt turned into a handicap match against Wyatt & Luke Harper, like at the Montreal house show on Friday.

Bray did not get involved in the match, leaving Lesnar and Harper to battle. Lesnar ended up pinning Harper after an F5.

– Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn wrestled unadvertised singles matches. Jericho beat Jack Swagger after cutting a promo on A.J. Styles and Zayn beat Stardust in a lengthy match positioned before the main event.

– Michael Cole, JBL, and Byron Saxton handled commentary like a standard Raw TV broadcast.

– WWE used the stripped-down “WWE Live” house show set for the live Network special, creating an intimate setting for a PPV-like broadcast.
