375 miles from Boyle Heights: Our good friend Dario was standing outside his makeshift temple. Dario told Black Lotus he believes his brother is ready, so they should take back his temple. Dario opened the door and his brother emerged from the back of the temple. He wore a black, metallic-like mask to cover his face and had blood splattered across his Wyatt family like clothing.

In-ring: Santos introduced the main event for the Lucha Underground championship. First out was Fenix, followed by Mil Muertes.

3 — Lucha Underground champion MIL MUERTES (w/Catrina) vs. Gift of the Gods champion FENIX – Lucha Underground Championship match

Mil beat down Fenix to start. Fenix came back with a dropkick, but Mil countered a springboard attack. Fenix hit a few uppercuts and hit a springboard neckbreaker. Fenix got knocked down on the apron, then Mil speared Fenix through the ropes before bringing Fenix back to the ring.

Fenix leaped off the ropes, but Mil caught him for a neckbreaker. Fenix fought back and kicked Mil off the apron. Fenix ran to the outside and was met with a chair shot to the head, which busted him open. Mil continued to work the head before biting him.

Mil threw Fenix through the ropes and brought him to the backstage area through the bleachers. Fenix fought back with a superkick, then Fenix shoved Muertes into some seats, so Muertes fell to the ground and Fenix leaped on him.

But, Muertes picked up Fenix and powerbombed him onto he announce table. Mil threw Fenix into the ring, then kissed Catrina. That allowed Fenix to knee Mil as he entered the ring. Fenix then stomped on Mil and tore his mask open. Mil speared Fenix out of rage and pummeled his face.

Mil grabbed another chair from under the ring. But, Fenix beat Mil with the chair. Fenix beckoned Mil and hit a superkick followed by a 450 splash for a nearfall.

Mil got up and hit a sideslam for another nearfall. Fenix got up and kicked Mil, then hit a German Suplex. Fenix climbed the top rope, but Mil uppercut him and hit a neckbreaker from the top. Mil set up the Flatliner, but Fenix rolled through for a pin to win the LU championship.

WINNER: Fenix at 13:15 to capture the Lucha Underground Championship.

Post-match: Catrina said Fenix would enter Aztec Warfare as #1 and Mil would be #20. She also said the match is no longer for #1 contender; it is for the championship. Fenix continued to celebrate with the crowd, though.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Two title changes on one show. The first title match was average, and the second was pretty good, but the typical title main event formula. The past few weeks LU has done a nice job building to Aztec Warfare, really making it feel like a big event. A lot of things to look forward to, including Rey debuting, Dragon debuting, and possibly Dario’s brother coming into play. Some nice things set up for next week.
