Aired: March 27, 2016
Feature: Stephanie McMahon

One week before WrestleMania, CBS ran a 10-minute feature on Stephanie McMahon and Dallas Cowboys executive Charlotte Jones Anderson, who are collaborating on WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium.

The TV story included interviews with Stephanie, Charlotte, WWE CEO Vince McMahon, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones from both AT&T Stadium in Texas and WWE Headquarters in Connecticut.

Most notable in the feature was McMahon talking about his “motivational technique” of threatening to fire virtually anyone who has worked for WWE.

“I’ve never really threatened to fire her,” Vince said of Stephanie,” but I have expressed my disappointment, which might be worse than firing.” Steph interrupted to say he has threatened to fire her before.

“I’ve probably threatened to fire everyone,” McMahon said with a disarming laugh. But, he added that he “draws youth and vibrance” from being around Stephanie.

Meanwhile, Jerry Jones talked about Charlotte being let go a few times before before returning to help run the Cowboys organization. Neither Stephanie nor Charlotte acknowledged that they are next in line to run the major sports brands, focusing on making sure WM32 is a big event.

The TV story also focused on the real sporting event of NFL football vs. the scripted entertainment WWE produces. Stephanie talked about WWE knowing the results in advance, making their focus about taking the audience on an emotional roller-coaster if they do their job correctly.

Within the TV storylines, Stephanie said the single-hardest thing she’s ever had to do on WWE TV was slap her mother, Linda McMahon.

The TV story closed with Stephanie and Charlotte’s sit-down interview talking about wanting to fill AT&T Stadium next Sunday.

“We want people to walk away and say, ‘I have never been in a place like that and had an experience like that in all of my life,'” said Charlotte.

“And likely never will again!” added Stephanie, capturing how the interview unfolded with Steph finishing a lot of Charlotte’s sentences.
