MTV officially announces The Rock’s new TV series project, includes former WWE writer

The new MTV series teased Wednesday by “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson was officially announced on Thursday.

MTV unveiled a new slate of celebrity-centered programming with collaborative projects featuring Rock, Pitbull, Drew Barrymore, Zac Efron, and John Legend.

The working title for Rock’s project is “Greatest Movie Show Of All Time, This Week,” which is labeled a comedy talk show. It’s unclear what Rock’s on-camera role will be.

The production companies are Rock’s “Seven Bucks Productions” and Serious Business.

Rock and his business partner/ex-wife Dany Garcia are listed as executive producers. Also listed is former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz, who left his role as WWE Creative consultant last year to go full-time with Seven Bucks.
