Friday, May 6

– Full Coverage of WWE’s eight roster cuts announced Friday.

– There was speculation over Lilian Garcia’s WWE standing after her absence from WWE TV this past week. Lilian addressed a “family emergency” via Twitter.

John Cena is returning to NBC’s “Today” show on Monday morning (May 9). Cena is scheduled for his regular 9:00 a.m. EST timeslot.

– WWE announced the headliners and official info for the U.K. return tour in November and one-night event on September 7 in London. WWE noted that Raw and Smackdown will emanate from Glasgow, Scotland for the first time on November 7 and 8.

– Former Oregon St. college football star/current NXT trainee Sabby Piscitelli is returning to Oregon for the NXT card next Saturday, May 14 in Portlando. The Portland Tribune profiled Piscitelli’s post-football career now in the NXT system.

– WWE released a pre-Total Divas interview with Maryse talking about letting viewers into her life with The Miz on the next season of “Total Divas.” (Video Clip)

– Earlier, WWE released an on-camera with Renee Young previewing her addition to “Total Divas.” Renee previewed cameras following her and Dean Ambrose around, which Renee joked made for a lot of yelling and screaming from Dean. (Video Interview)

Thursday, May 5

Jim Ross published a new blog at jrsbarbq.com with his “executive thoughts” on the Ryback and Adam Rose situations this week.

Rusev & Lana were at the Nashville Predators’s NHL Playoffs game on Thursday night. The game went into three overtimes. No word on whether they stayed until the end.

– The cover art has been released for WWE’s “Payback 2016” DVD. Roman Reigns and A.J. Styles are on the cover highlighting the PPV main event. (WrestlingDVDNetwork.com)

– Guardians of the Galaxy 2 starring Dave Bautista is scheduled for release this time next year. Zap2it.com published an overview of what’s to be expected from the sequel.

Wednesday, May 4

– Former TNA Hvt. champion Eric Young debuted on WWE NXT confronting NXT champion Samoa Joe.

Brian Stann, a retired UFC fighter and former Navy SEAL, revealed in a radio interview that he was turned down for a role on Fox’s military-themed “American Grit” show because he looks too much like host John Cena.

“I was actually at the last run of casting for ‘American Grit.’ I was very close to being on that show. Here’s the funny part – I obviously have a good relationship with Fox. It was Fox’s decision not to have me on the show at the very end,” Stann said on his podcast (transcribed by Fox Sports). “They decided that (he) and John Cena look too alike and are too similar demographically and it won’t spread our fanbase enough. So I did not make it on the show because of my big jaw and I’m half the size of John Cena by the way. Didn’t make the cut, folks.”

Stephanie McMahon teased involvement in a new show on WWE Network.

– Over at Shane McMahon’s day job, You On Demand announced a joint venture with Los Angeles-based Frequency Networks to expand consumer video reach in Asia.

WWE officially announced WWE Network “collections” for May grouping library content together. Themes include Chyna, Becoming The Rock, War Games Collection, and classic Smackdown episodes.

WWE advertised a Shane McMahon tell-all interview with Mick Foley. Why “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is not hosting.

– The latest hearing was held in the case of WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann suing C.M. Punk and Colt Cabana. (Read the Latest)

Forbes published an interview with Dany Garcia, the ex-wife/business partner of The Rock. Garcia talked about their mission to “expand their entertainment empire” and she also went into detail on why they took an unconventional route of divorcing in order to be successful personally and professionally.
