ROH Global Wars PPV News & Notes 5/8

– Jay Lethal is still ROH World champion after his latest title defense ended without an outcome in the PPV main event.

Lethal vs. Colt Cabana was interrupted by Lethal’s valet Taeler Hendrix, then the Young Bucks, then a returning Adam Cole to join the Bullet Club.

The Bucks, Cole, and IWGP tag champions Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa took out Cabana, Lethal, and ROH personnel in an NWO-style beat down to close the PPV. No decision was announced and the PPV went off the air with the Bullet Club posing in the ring.

– Bobby Fish captured the ROH TV Title from Tomohiro Ishii earlier in the show.

Fish forced Ishii to “pass out” to a rear-naked choke, forcing a referee stoppage to give Fish the win and the TV Title.

Earlier in the show, Dalton Castle won a #1 contender match to the ROH TV Title.

– War Machine (Hanson & Ray Rowe) retained the ROH Tag Titles over The Briscoes in a hard-fought match featuring several close calls for the Briscoes.

– The show featured New Japan’s top stars sprinkled in throughout the middle portion of the show.

Included was a big showdown between Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada during a tag team match also featuring Michael Elgin and Moose.

Plus, IWGP World Hvt. champion Naito beat Kyle O’Reilly in a featured singles match.
