WWE Raw TV News & Notes 5/9

– After Raw went off the air, Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose finished the taping with a promo segment. Very funny stuff to close the show. (Thanks to Reyal)

– Raw was book-ended by the Jericho-Ambrose feud … over a potted plant and light-up jacket. Included was Big Cass in a big singles spotlight role. Cass was scheduled to face Jericho in the TV main event, but Ambrose attacked Jericho during his ring entrance and ripped up his jacket to close Raw.

– Week 2 of Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon “running Raw” continued their niceness getting along and agreeing on match-making decisions. The show closed with Steph having mixed emotions staring at a photo of Shane & Vince McMahon.

– WWE World Hvt. champion Roman Reigns and A.J. Styles continued their top title feud heading into Extreme Rules. Included was a big stare down to loud dueling chants from the Midwest crowd after a six-man tag elimination. Included was Styles & Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows going with the working title of “The Club.”

– WWE mentioned former NXT champion Finn Balor having a relationship with “The Club” on the air. WWE ran an ad spot for Balor returning to NXT TV this week on WWE Network. Then, in recapping the six-man tag, Michael Cole noted Balor’s knowledge of The Club, setting up Balor’s imminent debut.

– NXT women’s wrestler Dana Brooke debuted on Raw by joining Emma on the main roster to feud with Becky Lynch. (Video Clip)

– Mid-card titleholders Women’s champion Charlotte, Tag Champs New Day, and IC champion The Miz all lost. Charlotte lost non-title to Paige after Ric Flair was banned from ringside, New Day lost to The Dudleys when The Vaudevillians interfered, and Miz lost clean to Sami Zayn, giving Zayn a spot in a fatal four-way IC Title match at the Extreme Rules PPV.

– Primo & Epico (formerly Los Matadores) were advertised for their WWE TV re-debut next week on Raw. They are being packaged as The Shining Stars. (Video Clip)

– Kevin Owens is scheduled for the SportsCenter interview segment Tuesday night on ESPNews.

– WWE announced three matches for this week’s Smackdown episode:

  • WWE World Hvt. champion Roman Reigns vs. Luke Gallows in a non-title match
  • IC champion The Miz & Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro & Sami Zayn.
  • R-Truth & Tyler Breeze vs. Goldust & Fandango
