SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE Studios and Universal Studios have set a theatrical release date for the “Incarnate” movie that was announced back in November 2013.

The movie is scheduled for release on September 30, 2016. Mark Henry has a cameo role, which WWE promoted Friday.

Incarnate stars Aaron Eckhart, who plays an “an unconventional exorcist who taps into the subconscious of a nine-year old boy played by David Mazouz who is possessed by a powerful, ancient demon.”

WWE Studios has one hand in the movie. Blumhouse Productions is the other main company involved in the project along with IM Global, which is co-financing production, and Universal Studios will distribute the film in the U.S.

WWE Studios head Michael Luisi is listed as executive producer of the film along with six other producers.

Earlier this year, WWE Studios announced another partnership with Blumhouse Productions to buy an indies movie titled “Sleight.”

The thriller/science fiction movie about a street magician in Los Angeles premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, which is where WWE got on-board.

As part of the announcement, Hollywood Reporter released WWE’s upcoming movie release schedule:

  • Incarnate (Blumhouse Productions starring Aaron Eckhart)
  • Brother’s Blood (starring Trey Songz and R-Truth)
  • Killing Hasselhoff (starring David Hasselhoff and Ken Jeong)
  • Sleight (Blumhouse Productions)

  1. I have been seeing articles that say Incarnate is coming out limited on 9/30/16.Then I’ve seen others that say it’s coming out wide on 9/30/16 today I saw one that said it’s coming out wide on 12/2/16! Does anyone know what’s going on with this movie? I’ve been waiting awhile to see it.

    • Everything I’m seeing is September 30. But, I see Wikipedia is listing December 2 – not sure where that info came from. I’ll keeping digging! [JC]
