5/16 Raw News & Notes – Women’s Title segment in Flair Country, Styles-Reigns explodes, when is Enzo returning? Shining Stars debut, Dana Brooke Raw in-ring debut, Golden Truth, Lilian returns, Apollo Crews, Fairplay & Flair

WWE Raw TV News & Notes 5/16

– The final Raw before Extreme Rules closed with the Women’s Title contract signing between Charlotte and Natalya. However, Ric Flair was the focal point in Flair Country of Greensboro, N.C. Flair ended up getting slapped by Stephanie McMahon and escorted out of the building by Shane McMahon. Meanwhile, Nattie made Charlotte tap to the Sharpshooter to promote their submission match for the Women’s Title on Sunday.

Overall, Shane and Stephanie continued to act chummy and get along running Raw for the third consecutive week.

– The big angle of the show was at the top of the third hour between WWE World Hvt. champion Roman Reigns and A.J. Styles, who snapped on Reigns after initially not using a chair against him. Styles ended up hitting Reigns with multiple chair shots before dropping Reigns onto the chair with the Styles Clash.

Prior to Styles one-upping the champion leading into Extreme Rules, The Usos beat Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows in a tag match.

– Big Cass continues to run solo against The Dudleys while Enzo Amore recovers from injury. Cass noted in a post-show interview that Enzo is ready to return, though, and will return when everyone least expects it.

– Dana Brooke made her Raw in-ring debut defeating Becky Lynch in singles action. WWE acknowledged Dana sliding into Emma’s spot following Emma’s back injury that will sideline her indefinitely.

– Primo & Epico, repackaged as the Shining Stars, returned to in-ring action squashing two local independent wrestlers, including stand-out John Skylar.

– Golden Truth of R-Truth and Goldust was formally introduced as a tag team. However, they lost to Tyler Breeze & Fandango after a miscommunication. Goldust and Truth vowed to find their chemistry as a tag team, though, and make it work.

– Apollo Crews did not appear on Raw once again. Instead, WWE ran a spotlight video sponsored by Golden Corral.

– Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin did not appear on Raw to promote an announced pre-show match at Extreme Rules.

– Lilian Garcia returned to ring announcing duties after missing two weeks tending to her father going through a cancer battle.

– Announced for Smackdown is Miz TV hosted by IC champion The Miz and Maryse with guests Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Cesaro.

– Announced for ESPNews SportsCenter on Tuesday night is Roman Reigns.

– Jonny Fairplay was at Raw and snapped a photo with Ric Flair.
