6/17 AAW Results – Second Report on Sabre vs. Gargano, Outlaw, Inc., Ciampa’s Open Challenge, rising attendance

From AAW: This was the fourth standing-room-only show where all seats were filled this year, totaling about 600 fans. This follows 600 fans in May, 500 fans in April, and 400 fans in March.

(1) Kongo Kong & Desmond Xavier beat Candice LeRae & Heidi Lovelace, Shane Hollister & Markus Crane, and Connor Braxton & Eli Machete in a four-team match when Kong pinned Braxton.

This led to Tommaso Ciampa’s Open Challenge…

(2) Tommaso Ciampa beat the returning Josh Alexander. Ciampa raised Alexander’s arm in the air after the match as a show of respect.

(3) Jessicka Havok pinned Kimber Lee. After the match, Havok continued attacking Kimber Lee until Heidi Lovelace entered. But, Heidi got taken out, too.

(4) Silas Young beat Drew Gulak. Silas reversed a figure-four leglock into a small package for the win.

(5) Davey Vega & Mat Fitchett beat The Hooligans to retain the AAW Tag Team Championship. Fitchett hit a spike huracanrana while Vega had his brother subdued in an anklelock.

(6) Chris Hero beat Drago via Tombstone Piledriver. After Hero celebrated his win, he fell to his knees in front of Drago and extended his hand to the luchador. They shook hands, rising together, as Hero rose the arm of Drago before departing the ring. Fans displayed their affection to Drago by tossing money into the ring.

(7) A.R. Fox beat AeroStar to retain the AIW Heritage Championship. Fox nailed a top-rope 450 splash onto Aerostar for the win.

(8) Trevor Lee beat Moose, Andrew Everett, and Cedric Alexander in a four-way match. Lee reversed a spear from Moose into a fallaway slam for the win.

(9) Zack Sabre, Jr. submitted Johnny Gargano. Gargano was able to put Sabre into the Gargano Stretch, but Sabre countered into his own submission targeting Gargano’s injured ribs, forcing Gargano to submit.

(10) 0I4K (Sami Callihan & Dave Crist) beat Outlaw Inc. (Eddie Kingston & Homicide). This was Homicide’s AAW debut. Callihan hit a double underhook tombstone on Homicide to get the three count and win the match.

  • Sami Callihan vs. Pentagon, Jr. for the AAW Championship
  • A.R. Fox vs. Mat Fitchett for the AAW Heritage Championship
  • Marty Scurll makes his AAW debut
  • Also scheduled: Zack Sabre, Jr., Johnny Gargano, Fenix, Tommaso Ciampa, Andrew Everett, Trevor Lee
