SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Prior to the first Cruiserweight tournament taping Thursday night at Full Sail University, WWE hosted a parade introducing the 32 competitors in the tournament.

The parade was scheduled to air at 6:30 p.m. EST on WWE’s Facebook Live page. However, WWE delayed the start time because fans were slow filing into Full Sail due to a reported wreck on the freeway blocking traffic. The delay lasted 20 minutes until WWE pulled the Facebook feed.

From correspondent Josh Parry reporting live at Full Sail: commentator Daniel Bryan came out to stall for time. Bryan told the crowd that he wanted nothing to do with wrestling after retiring until he got a call about the Cruiserweight tournament.

Bryan said this is going to be nothing like we’ve seen before.

Bryan’s speech was followed by individual ring introductions for each wrestler in the tournament. There will be 20-minute time limits for each match and all 16 first round matches were scheduled to be taped Thursday night.
