As of mid-week, it was up in the air whether retired WWE star Shawn Michaels will return to an active role at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

According to Triple H during a pre-NXT media conference call, Michaels is undecided on whether he wants to uproot his family from their home in Texas to re-locate to Florida.

Hunter said Michaels got the itch when he recently visited the Performance Center, believing he could contribute to the training program.

“Shawn and I are in talks all the time about a lot of things,” Hunter said. “Shawn is in the process of deciding whether he wants to move (or) not move. I’m not 100 percent sure where Shawn is at in his personal life as far as his move goes.”

“He has recently spent some time at the Performance Center, and I saw Shawn a few months ago. We constantly talk about NXT and the Performance Center. He loves the brand. He came down and spent a few days with me around talent and it invigorated him,” Hunter added.

“He asked about coming back and spending some time. This all comes down to discussions with Shawn and what he wants to do.”

Hunter said one of Michaels’s biggest contributions would be helping the NXT roster advance from being “really good in the ring” to “being a star.”

“If Shawn said to me tomorrow, ‘I want to be at the Performance Center all the time and help talent,’ oh my God, it’s the greatest thing ever. If he decides he wants to occasionally visit and help, wonderful. It’s all on him. The door is wide open and I would love to have his assistance,” Hunter said.

“I would love to have him involved. It’s kind of up in the air right now. We’ll work on it.”
