WWE Raw TV News & Notes 9/5

– After Kevin Owens’s Universal Title win on last week’s Raw, Owens was matched up with Seth Rollins in a title feud. Owens also resumed his never-ending feud against Sami Zayn by defeating him in a non-title TV main event.

– Triple H did not appear on Raw the week after helping Owens win the title and costing Rollins and Roman Reigns the title. The focus was on whether Stephanie McMahon knew about Hunter’s decision to help Owens and cost Rollins.

– Next week’s top Raw match is Owens vs. Reigns for a spot in the Clash of Champions PPV main event. The match is currently Owens vs. Rollins. If Reigns beats Owens next week, he is added to the title match.

– Sheamus beat Cesaro in Match #3 of their Best-of-Seven series to go up 3-0. The series could end in a non-TV match, as WWE announced Match #4 at a live show this Wednesday in London.

– Sasha Banks did a retirement teaser on her back injury, but ended up delivering “bad news” to Charlotte that she’s facing her for the Women’s Title at Clash of Champions.

Earlier in the show, Bayley beat Charlotte in a non-title match.

– U.S. champion Rusev did not appear on Raw for the second consecutive week. Reigns currently does not have a feud after Reigns shifted to the Universal Title picture.

– WWE highlighted three more Cruiserweight competitors before the division debuts in two weeks: Gran Metalik, Akira Tozawa, and Jack Gallagher.

WWE is attempting to sign Gallagher, who was booked for PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles tournament over the weekend, but he did not wrestle.
