Cody Rhodes dove head-first into the independent scene at this past weekend’s Battle of Los Angeles tournament in Reseda, California.

Rhodes did not win, as he was defeated by eventual BOLA winner Marty Scurll in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

However, Rhodes walked away from the PWG experience with a unique perspective on one of the signature events of indies wrestling, which he detailed HERE in a new blog.

Rhodes also teased his opponent for his Ring of Honor debut match at Final Battle on December 2.

“Knowing that I’ll be heading into ROH’s ‘Final Battle’ on 12/2…I watched one particular man’s matches very closely,” Rhodes wrote.

BOLA Weekend featured a handful of top ROH wrestlers, including ROH World champion Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, ROH TV champion Bobby Fish, Matt Sydal, and the soon-to-be-debuting Scurll and Will Ospreay.
