SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

American Alpha vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno was initially set as the Finals of the Smackdown Tag Title tournament.

However, an injury angle removed Alpha from the title match at Backlash.

Now, The Usos will face the Hype Bros. in a “second chance match” after both teams lost in the semi-finals on this week’s Smackdown.

The winning team at Backlash will advance to face Slater & Rhyno later in the show to determine the first Smackdown Tag Team champions.

The injury angle was the result of The Usos attacking Chad Gable of the Alphas after their semi-final match. The fictional injury update is Gable missing 2-4 weeks due to a knee injury.
