BREAKING: Major stipulation added to Survivor Series that could shift wrestlers from one show to another

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Moments ago at the WWE Smackdown Live tapings in Glasgow, Scotland, Shane McMahon announced that Brian Kendrick must defend his Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto at Survivor Series, and if Kalisto wins, the entire Cruiserweight Division shifts to Smackdown. This was framed as a result of a negotiation over Dolph Ziggler putting the Intercontinental Title at risk of going to Raw at Survivor Series.

Keller’s Analysis: This doesn’t surprise me that the Cruiserweights might be moving to Smackdown. It just doesn’t make sense to have the Cruiserweights on Raw if “205 Live” is going to air right after Smackdown on WWE Network. For maximum synergy, it makes sense to move the division. Not only that, it seems overwhelmingly the feeling was the Cruiserweights would do better on Smackdown for a few reasons, mostly due to Mauro Ranallo doing a better job commentary getting across that style with genuine excitement. Now they just need to shift Corey Graves to Smackdown to join Mauro and move JBL back to Raw to complete a logical shuffle Mauro and Graves are excellent together. Now, all of that said, it’s also still very possible Kendrick wins and Raw retains the Cruiserweight Division, as the third hour does give Raw more time to dedicate to the Cruiserweights, which was the initial reason it landed there. I think, though, this creates a path to shift it to Smackdown and that will happen.
