The following are the latest news items stemming from quotes highlighted at our sister website, www.PWPodcasts.com, which chronicles what wrestlers are saying on the record on a daily basis, including newsworthy quick quotes and longer detailed written recaps of wrestling-personality-hosted podcasts.

In an interesting—largely in character—interview, Marty Scurll revealed that he someday wants the chance to wrestle CM Punk. “I am goal driven, but a lot of them are things you may not suspect. I’d like to bring C.M. Punk out of retirement and wrestle him, that would be pretty cool, wouldn’t it? That’s a ‘dream match’ of mine.” He also discussed his recent entry in the Bullet Club, Randy Orton’s recent Twitter tirade, and more. Alberto El Patron continues to express anger and frustration with WWE as he noted he has “real beef” with some people in the company. He also lamented his former employer owning the vast majority of the wrestling business, but couldn’t blame them for it. “It’s horrible for the business, but you cannot blame that company. That company is doing what a company is supposed to do—monopolize, get the best talent from everywhere, and try to destroy the competition.” Patron also talked about what it’s like being in Impact, and how some wrestlers who join NXT are actually taking a pay cut. In one of the stranger in-ring returns in recent memory, Kevin Thorn revealed that he is bringing back his old Mordecai character on the indy scene to battle…Hornswoggle? “The pale rider has been trapped up for a long time and the pale rider was never really fully unleashed the way that it could have been. But when the sky finally opens up over AIW and he gets to ride down in all his glory with cross in hand and reap judgment on all the poor and innocent souls (first named Hornswoggle) that are in his way it is going to be like nothing other. The sins will be cleansed (laughing).” Thorn also talked about his friendship with Billy Gunn, why he got into the best shape of his career, and more. Billy Corgan buying the NWA name has certainly raised some eyebrows within the wrestling industry. Former WWE creative team member Court Bauer has revealed some additional details on his most recent podcast. Here is a synopsis from our recap at PWPodcasts. “Billy Corgan is not just getting the NWA name/title, but the On Demand service and the rights to monetize the Houston wrestling library, which the Bosch family still owns. Court says Bruce Tharpe is divesting himself, transferring all of his wrestling business to Corgan, who has a piece of history to market and monetize with respect to the Houston library.” Check out the full recap with analysis on Randy Orton’s recent tweets, why they don’t think the Fatal Fiveway concept works, and more. Samoa Joe has a lengthy list of people he still wants to face in WWE. He listed off six of them in a recent interview. “(At) the top of that list, obviously, (are) the John Cenas of the world, Randy Orton. Of course, me and AJ (Styles), we’ve battled for years back and forth, so anything involving him I’m more than compliant with. Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, the list really is quite long — and hopefully I’ll get to a lot of those places in the coming years.” Joe also touched on adjusting to the WWE style and what makes the perfect heel.
