{"id":102911,"date":"2020-08-18T21:10:37","date_gmt":"2020-08-19T02:10:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/?p=102911"},"modified":"2020-08-18T21:10:37","modified_gmt":"2020-08-19T02:10:37","slug":"8-18-impact-wrestling-tv-report-machine-gunns-vs-the-north-for-impact-tag-titles-x-division-title-match-with-tjp-vs-raju-vs-bey-moose-vs-miguel-for-tna-title-kylie-vs-valkyrie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2020\/08\/18\/8-18-impact-wrestling-tv-report-machine-gunns-vs-the-north-for-impact-tag-titles-x-division-title-match-with-tjp-vs-raju-vs-bey-moose-vs-miguel-for-tna-title-kylie-vs-valkyrie\/","title":{"rendered":"8\/18 IMPACT WRESTLING TV REPORT: Machine Gunns vs. The North for Impact Tag Titles, X Division Title match with TJP vs. Raju vs. Bey, Moose vs. Miguel for TNA Title, Kylie vs. Valkyrie"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-4128516658\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><h3><strong>IMPACT WRESTLING TV REPORT<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>AUGUST 18, 2020<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>TAPED AT THE IMPACT ZONE<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>AIRED ON AXS TV<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>REPORT BY DARRIN LILLY, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>-Video package of nature footage mixed with clips of the Impact wrestlers. \u00a0\u00a0It segued into a package that focused on the lead-up events for tonight\u2019s matches along with soundbites from the wrestlers.<\/p>\n<p>-The standard Impact opening montage aired.<\/p>\n<p>-Josh Matthews welcomed the audience to Emergence: Night One as the competitors in the opening match entered the ring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) TJP (w\/Fallah Bahh) vs. ROHIT RAJU vs. CHRIS BEY (c) \u2013 Impact Wrestling X Division Title match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TJP entered the ring first.\u00a0 Rohit and Bey fist bumped each other on the outside (last week Bey and Rohit agreed to work together).\u00a0 TJP dove over the top rope onto them and threw Rohit into the ring.\u00a0 TJP hit a shoulder block, then he and Rohit criss-crossed the ring and moved out of the way of each other\u2019s moves, until TJP took Rohit out of the ring with a headscissors.\u00a0 Bey leaped into the ring, took TJP down with a headscissors and did a kip-up.\u00a0 TJP did a headstand in the corner and turned it into a headscissors on Bey.\u00a0 TJP kicked Rohit on the outside, which led to Bey catching TJP with kicks.\u00a0 Bey hit a flying elbow drop while TJP was stretched over the ropes.\u00a0 Bey punched TJP in the mount and landed kicks.\u00a0 Bey and Rohit tried to double team TJP, but he escaped and got a sharpshooter on Bey.\u00a0 TJP fought Rohit while he had the hold on Bey and suplexed Rohit for a two count.\u00a0 TJP put an arm breaker on Bey, who rolled out of the ring.\u00a0 Rohit hit TJP with a running elbow and kicks.\u00a0 Bey and Rohit attempted to double team TJP, but he fought out of it.\u00a0 TJP carried Bey on his back for a submission while simultaneously putting Rohit in a modified sharpshooter.<\/p>\n<p>Bey rolled out of the ring but TJP put him in another submission hold that was broken up by Rohit.\u00a0 Rohit hit TJP with a forearm and Bey kicked TJP.\u00a0 TJP fought them off in the corner until Bey accidentally hit Rohit.\u00a0 TJP took over on Bey, including a tombstone.\u00a0 Rohit knocked TJP off the top rope and climbed up himself.\u00a0 TJP superplexed Rohit off the top rope and into an octopus hold.\u00a0 He put Bey in the hold at the same time.\u00a0 Rohit elbowed out.\u00a0 TJP got a crucifix for a two count.\u00a0 TJP fought both wrestlers then got a back suplex on Rohit. Everyone was down for awhile.\u00a0 Rohit hit TJP with a big knee, then missed a charge into the corner and fell out of the ring.\u00a0 Bey made a comeback and rolled up TJP for a two count.\u00a0 TJP hit an innovative double underhook slam on Bey.\u00a0 Rohit fell to the outside of the ring after Bey was thrown into him.\u00a0 TJP had Bey on his shoulders but Bey escaped and rolled TJP into Rohit on the apron, who fell back to the floor outside the ring.\u00a0 Bey with a two count on TJP.\u00a0 TJP put an STF on Bey.\u00a0 Rohit grabbed Bey\u2019s hand to pull him towards the ropes to force a break.\u00a0 TJP hit a springboard dropkick to Rohit outside the ring, then hit one on Bey.\u00a0 TJP climbed to the top rope, but Bey leaped up to meet him.\u00a0 They fought on top.\u00a0 Rohit joined the fight on the top rope and knocked TJP off.\u00a0 Rohit then saw his big chance, turned on Bey, and hit a double stomp off the top rope while Bey was in the \u201ctree of woe\u201d, then pinned him for the three count and the title change.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Rohit Raju in 10:30 to win the Impact Wrestling X Division Title.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Analysis: A great match that was all action.\u00a0 TJP was the MVP of the match and he really shined.\u00a0 He pulled off some innovative moves that I have never seen.\u00a0 Bey and Rohit were right there with him too.\u00a0 I would have liked Bey to have a longer title reign because he plays his role as the cocky champion very well.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen Rohit on the indies and he seemed like a wrestler that just needed the right opportunity to showcase his abilities; it\u2019s good to see him get the spotlight.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to seeing what he will do as champion).<\/em><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1150831892\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>-Wrestle House opening credits.\u00a0 Taya Valkyrie\u2019s stuffed dog (who was dressed up as the devil and sounded like James Mitchell) had a conversation with Crazzy Steve\u2019s monkey.\u00a0 They argued about who would win the upcoming match between Taya and Kylie Rae.\u00a0 Larry D showed Acey Romero his new fragrance, Ring Rust.\u00a0 He was dressed up.\u00a0 Larry told Acey that women love him now (Rosemary put him under a spell last week), especially one in particular (presumably Rosemary).\u00a0 Larry called himself \u201cLawrence D\u201d. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Backstage interview with the Good Brothers.\u00a0 They talked about their upcoming match with Ace Austin and Madman Fulton.\u00a0 Karl Anderson said \u201cyou\u2019ve got our attention\u201d.\u00a0 Doc Gallows said that Ace and Fulton had lit a fire under them and tonight they would become famous.<\/p>\n<p>-Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne appeared on camera for the first time and welcomed everyone to Emergence: Night One.\u00a0 They ran down the rest of the matches for the show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) MOOSE vs. TREY MIGUEL \u2013 TNA World Title match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Moose attacked Trey at the bell, they exchanged chops, then Moose chopped Trey down to the mat. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from the break, Trey hit Moose with a series of kicks.\u00a0 Moose with a running uppercut on Trey in the corner.\u00a0 Moose missed a clothesline and Trey kicked him.\u00a0 Moose dropkicked Trey off the top rope to the outside, then chopped him.\u00a0 He dropped Trey on the edge of the ring, then rolled Trey back in.\u00a0 Moose stood on Trey\u2019s face, then gave him a huge biel throw.\u00a0 Trey fought back with punches.\u00a0 Moose caught him with a fallaway slam and kipped up.\u00a0 He whipped Trey into the corner, stomped and chopped him.\u00a0 Moose with another big biel throw.\u00a0 Trey fought back with a series of punches, but was cut off with a huge dropkick.\u00a0 Moose got two two counts on Trey.\u00a0 Moose pulled Trey\u2019s nose.\u00a0 Moose talked trash and went for another biel throw, but Trey turned it around and went on offense.\u00a0 Moose caught Trey but it was turned into a DDT.\u00a0 Trey dove on Moose to the outside but Moose caught him and threw Trey into the rails and the ring apron.\u00a0 Trey barely beat the ten count.\u00a0 Trey leaped over Moose\u2019s spear attempt, but Moose caught him, threw him in the corner, and got the spear and the three count.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Moose in 9:30 to retain the TNA World Title.<\/p>\n<p>After the match, EC3 attacked Moose from behind and took him down with a scorpion death drop.\u00a0 He took the TNA belt and left the ring.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1682556009\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Analysis: Moose showed incredible athleticism, which is no surprise, but still worth noting.\u00a0 He had \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d in gold letters on his trunks.\u00a0 He\u2019s really good in the bully role and Trey continues to impress).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Backstage, Reno Scum returned the roll of money to Hernandez (they took the money from Rhino last week).\u00a0 Hernandez paid them off, but they said the job was worth more money.\u00a0 He gave them more money and said he would have more work for them.<\/p>\n<p>-An Eric Young video aired with clips of his angles and personas from his career in Impact.\u00a0 He said this is now the real him in his purest form.\u00a0 They showed the attack on Rich Swann and his challenge to Eddie Edwards.\u00a0 Eric said he won\u2019t be ignored.\u00a0 He will become his vision and his truth.<\/p>\n<p>-Flashback Moment of the Week from the 5\/11\/15 edition of Impact Wrestling.\u00a0 Eric Young beat Kurt Angle in a stretcher match.<\/p>\n<p>-Jimmy Jacobs was backstage interviewing Willie Mack about Rich Swann\u2019s retirement.\u00a0 Brian Myers interrupted and said nobody cares.\u00a0 He told Jimmy to come with him.\u00a0 They walked down the hall and sat down.\u00a0 Myers told Jimmy it was his own personal AMA \u201cAsk Me Anything\u201d.\u00a0 Myers said he always did everything he was told and always followed the rules but where did it get him.\u00a0 He said it got him fired with a wife who was six months pregnant sitting at home.\u00a0 He said he was sick of being called a good hand and was tired of major decisions being made by an out of touch 70-year-old man at goofy production meetings.\u00a0 He is taking his career into his own hands.\u00a0 Willie attacked him and they brawled, knocking over the camera.\u00a0 [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Heath had another thirty second ad.\u00a0 He complained that Joe Biden picked a running mate on a Tuesday, when he knows everyone watches Impact Wrestling on Tuesdays.\u00a0 He wanted to get #heath4impact to trend.\u00a0 He ran out of things to say with eleven seconds left.\u00a0 They showed fireworks in the background to run out the time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) ACE AUSTIN &amp; MADMAN FULTON vs. DOC GALLOWS &amp; KARL ANDERSON<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Karl Anderson took over on Ace Austin with punches and chops.\u00a0 They traded offense until Karl tagged out to Doc Gallows.\u00a0 They trapped Ace in their corner and beat on him.\u00a0 Ace rolled up Karl for a two count.\u00a0 Ace with a forearm and kicks to Karl.\u00a0 Fulton tagged and punched Karl in the corner.\u00a0 Ace tagged back in and got a dropkick for a two count.\u00a0 Karl tagged in Doc.\u00a0 Doc punched Ace in the corner, but missed a charge.\u00a0 Ace tagged in Fulton to have a showdown of the two big men.\u00a0 They squared off and exchanged punches, then clotheslined each other but neither of them\u00a0budged.\u00a0 Doc took over with punches in the corner and a big uppercut.\u00a0 Fulton reversed and splashed Doc in the corner.\u00a0 Ace tagged in and punched Doc.\u00a0 Doc hit Ace and tagged Karl.\u00a0 Doc and Karl double teamed Ace.\u00a0 Karl took over on Ace.\u00a0 Ace dropkicked Karl in the back, then connected with a running boot.\u00a0 Fulton tagged in and choked Karl on the ropes.\u00a0 Fulton punched Karl repeatedly.\u00a0 Ace tagged back.\u00a0 Fulton suplexed Karl on Ace\u2019s knees for a two count.\u00a0 Ace worked on Karl\u2019s arm.\u00a0 Ace took out a card and gave Karl a paper cut between the fingers, then tagged out to Fulton.\u00a0 Karl was suplexed on Ace\u2019s knees again.\u00a0 They tried it a third time, but Karl slipped free and got a spinebuster on Ace, then tagged Doc.\u00a0 Doc ran wild with punches on Ace, then hit Fulton on the apron.\u00a0 Doc got a fallaway slam on Ace and followed with an elbow, shoulder tackle, and pump kick before tagging Karl back in.\u00a0 Fulton broke up the Magic Killer.\u00a0 Fulton and Doc brawled on the outside.\u00a0 Back in the ring, Ace hit a spin kick on Karl then tagged Fulton.\u00a0 He threw Karl into Ace\u2019s knee then clotheslined him for a two count.\u00a0 Ace tagged back in and traded punches with Karl.\u00a0 Ace connected with a knee to Karl\u2019s head.\u00a0 Fulton pulled Doc off the apron and sent him into the guard rail.\u00a0 Doc knocked Fulton over the rail and tagged back into the match.\u00a0 Doc and Karl got the Magic Killer on Ace to pick up the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Doc Gallows &amp; Karl Anderson in 11:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Analysis:\u00a0 Good match.\u00a0 This certainly looked like it could be the end of the feud already.\u00a0 I\u2019d like to see The Good Brothers mix it up with another team and for Ace to go back to singles competition to continue chasing the World Title).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Back to Wrestle House.\u00a0 Rosemary, Alisha, and the Deaners were hanging out in the kitchen.\u00a0 The Deaners were angry that someone took their beer.\u00a0 Johnny Swinger said it wasn\u2019t him because he\u2019s straight edge.\u00a0 Alisha denied it too.\u00a0 The Deaners accused Acey and almost fought, but Susie reminded them of the truce.\u00a0 Larry D grabbed two bottles out of the fridge and said he was a lover, not a fighter.\u00a0 He gave one of the drinks to Rosemary.\u00a0 He asked if she wanted to sit with him at the match tonight, but she said she\u2019d take a raincheck.\u00a0 Jake and Susie had an awkward greeting.\u00a0 After Susie left, Jake told Cody that their date last week hadn\u2019t gone well. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) KYLIE RAE vs. TAYA VALKYRIE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This match took place in the Wrestle House backyard.\u00a0 Rosemary was the referee.\u00a0 Kylie offered a handshake to start the match, but Taya slapped her hand.\u00a0 Taya knocked Kylie to the mat.\u00a0 Kylie took Taya down, then charged her in the corner.\u00a0 Taya missed a second attempt.\u00a0 Taya punched Kylie.\u00a0 Kylie got a headscissors but missed a kick.\u00a0 Rosemary tripped Kylie.\u00a0 Taya kicked Kylie and ran her into the turnbuckle.\u00a0 Taya bit Kylie\u2019s hand while Rosemary did nothing.\u00a0 Kylie kicked out of a pin attempt.\u00a0 Taya cut off a Kylie comeback and kicked her in the back of the head.\u00a0 She choked Kylie on the ropes.\u00a0 Rosemary clapped for Taya.\u00a0 Taya and Kylie traded punches, then Kylie armdragged Taya and superkicked her.\u00a0 She got a (slow) two count.\u00a0 Taya back suplexed Kylie for a two count.\u00a0 Taya yelled at Rosemary \u201cwhat is going on?\u201d\u00a0 Taya almost ran into Rosemary but stopped.\u00a0 She turned around right into a superkick for the pin.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Kylie Rae in 5:00<\/p>\n<p>After the match, Taya complained about her teeth.\u00a0 Rosemary rolled out of the ring and told Larry D she will see him next week.\u00a0 Larry offered Acey some Ring Rust.\u00a0 Crazzy Steve said John E. Bravo was blowing it.\u00a0 The Deaners still wanted to know who took their beer.\u00a0 [c]<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Analysis: This match had the least comedy of any of the Wrestle House matches thus far, but still didn\u2019t showcase either wrestler to the best of their ability, although that wasn\u2019t really the goal of the match.\u00a0 Although some of the Wrestle House stuff is fun, these are two of the top wrestlers in the loaded Knockouts division, so the sooner they get back to the main arena matches, the better).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Josh and Madison were on camera and previewed next week\u2019s matches for the second part of Emergence, which include Willie Mack vs. Bryan Myers, more Wrestle House, EC3 answers why he stole the TNA belt, Eddie Edwards\u2019 open challenge, and Deonna Purrazzo vs. Jordynne Grace in an iron man match for the Knockouts Title.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) THE NORTH (Ethan Page &amp; Josh Alexander) vs. THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS (Alex Shelley &amp; Chris Sabin) (c)\u2014Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Title match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the ring entrances, they went to a break. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Josh and Sabin locked up for the initial exchange.\u00a0 Josh shoulder blocked Sabin, who countered with a dropkick.\u00a0 Sabin slid out of the ring and pulled Page off the ring apron.\u00a0 Back in the ring, Josh took over on Sabin and tagged in Page.\u00a0 Shelley came in but got punched and kicked by Page. Page took over on Sabin.\u00a0 Josh tagged in with offense on Sabin.\u00a0 Page tagged back in and punched Sabin.\u00a0 Josh and Page tried to double team Sabin, but he made a comeback on both.\u00a0 Josh accidentally hit Page.\u00a0 Shelley tagged in and fought both members of The North.\u00a0 He dropkicked Josh in the knees.\u00a0 The Guns double teamed Page, then double teamed Josh with tag team moves. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from the break, Shelley worked on Josh\u2019s leg and put him in a single leg Boston Crab.\u00a0 He broke the hold in order to fight off Page.\u00a0 Page hit Shelley from the outside.\u00a0 Josh suplexed Shelley for a two count.\u00a0 Page tagged in and stomped Shelley, then hit a series of knees.\u00a0 The North worked on Shelley in the corner.\u00a0 Josh leglocked Shelley, then tagged to Page.\u00a0 He punched and worked on Shelley\u2019s arm.\u00a0 After a suplex, Shelley hit his knees on Page\u2019s head.\u00a0 Josh tagged in and got a two count, but Sabin broke it up.\u00a0 Page tagged back in.\u00a0 Shelley fought them both and sent Josh to the floor.\u00a0 He got the tag to Sabin, who took over on Page.\u00a0 He got a forearm, kicks, and a neckbreaker.\u00a0 Sabin kicked Josh on the outside, then climbed to the top rope and dropkicked Page back inside the ring.\u00a0 Shelley held the ropes for Sabin to dive through and land on Josh.\u00a0 Shelley missed a dive on Page, but Sabin hit a dropkick.\u00a0 Alex got a two count on Page, then they traded punches.\u00a0 All four wrestlers fought in the ring.\u00a0 Sabin got a two count on Page.\u00a0 All four fought again.\u00a0 The North double teamed Sabin.\u00a0 Josh got a close near fall on Sabin, who barely kicked out.\u00a0 Sabin rolled up Page for a two count.\u00a0 Everyone was down.\u00a0 The North double teamed Shelley and Josh superkicked him.\u00a0 Sabin DDT\u2019d Page.\u00a0 Josh hit Sabin with a forearm.\u00a0 The Guns double teamed Josh, then double teamed Page, including hitting a neckbreaker.\u00a0 Shelley splashed Page, then Sabin pinned him.\u00a0 The Guns celebrated to end the show.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Motor City Machine Guns in 14:00 to retain the Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Titles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINAL THOUGHTS:<\/strong> Excellent main event and a great start to the Gun\u2019s title reign.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure who the next opponent for the Guns is, but a series of matches with the Rascalz could be a great showcase for both teams.\u00a0 The North against the Good Brothers could be another interesting matchup.\u00a0 A good show overall and I\u2019m really looking forward to Willie Mack vs. Brian Myers and the Iron Man Match next week.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDED: <\/strong><a
