{"id":10394,"date":"2016-02-09T16:15:37","date_gmt":"2016-02-09T22:15:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/?p=10394"},"modified":"2016-02-09T21:19:40","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T03:19:40","slug":"10394","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2016\/02\/09\/10394\/","title":{"rendered":"2\/8 Raw TV Ratings for D-Bryan Retirement Show &#8211; the concerning trend still present"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-3241593753\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><p>More than any other Raw in the three-hour Raw era, Monday&#8217;s Raw captured that Raw is just too long for the average viewer.<\/p>\n<p>Raw drew an unusually high audience in the first and second hours &#8211; drawn in for Daniel Bryan&#8217;s retirement &#8211; but by the time Bryan&#8217;s retirement speech rolled around at the very end of the show, the audience fell off by 14 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Also, there was the thinking that perhaps Raw could get back to a 3.0 rating for the first time since post-WrestleMania 31, but Raw did not come close.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WWE Raw TV Ratings Tracking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>February 8:\u00a0<\/strong>Raw scored a 2.65 rating, which was up 11 percent from last week&#8217;s show. However, Raw was\u00a0short of the post-Royal Rumble episode scoring a 2.93 rating two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>Raw averaged 3.726 million viewers, which provided a 10 percent boost from last week&#8217;s audience. However, the third hour was problematic.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Hour: 3.907 million viewers (close to post-Rumble)<\/li>\n<li>Second Hour: 3.905 million viewers (close to post-Rumble)<\/li>\n<li>Third Hour: 3.368 million viewers (14 percent decline from the second hour)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the key demographics, Raw got a big boost across the board compared to last week&#8217;s Raw, but the audience levels remained a stairstep below the post-Rumble Raw.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adults 18-49: 1.49 rating post-Rumble, 1.22 last week, and 1.36 this week.<\/li>\n<li>Males 18-34: 1.90 rating post-Rumble, 1.43 last week, and 1.74 rating this week.<\/li>\n<li>Males 18-49: 1.95 rating post-Rumble, 1.59 last week, and 1.79 rating this week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Caldwell&#8217;s Analysis:\u00a0<\/strong>Raw got a boost they would not have received without a special event like Daniel Bryan&#8217;s retirement. However, that third hour really captures the disconnect with today&#8217;s audience. General viewers simply do not have the time or patience to wait through a three-hour Raw. And, WWE\u00a0has not developed a\u00a0roster or consistent storylines to keep the show moving without things bogging down mid-way through.
