(***)<\/p>\n<p><i>(Bethany\u2019s Analysis:\u00a0 It was a fine Young Lions match, but not must-see like some of the other Young Lion matches.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>(1) YUJIRO TAKAHASHI (0) vs. TAICHI (4)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Taichi went outside to stall for time, and when Yujiro followed him, Taichi attacked Yijiro with the hammer and choked him with a cable.<\/p>\n<p>Back in the ring, Taichi takes control until Yujiro pokes him in the eye.\u00a0 Yujiro goes for a piledriver.\u00a0 Taichi escaped, but Yujiro bit his fingers.\u00a0 Yujiro then hit a stiff forearm to Taichi that almost knocked Taichi out.\u00a0 The crowd chanted for moves from both men, which was strange, considering that they\u2019re both heels.<\/p>\n<p>Taichi takes off his pants, so you know it\u2019s about to get real.\u00a0 Taichi pushed the ref into the corner and hit a low blow on Yujiro when the ref couldn\u2019t see it.\u00a0 Taichi pins Yujiro.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-809165895\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>WINNER: Taichi (6) at 11:05. (** \u00bd)<\/p>\n<p><i>(Bethany\u2019s Analysis: Not very good.\u00a0 It was what you would expect from these two.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>(2) JEFF COBB (2) vs. MINORU SUZUKI (2)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cobb tripped Suzuki at the start of the match, and Suzuki tried to get Cobb to go to the mat with him.\u00a0 They did a series of submissions and reversals.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki got Cobb in an arm lock over the top rope.\u00a0 The ref forced a break, and then the two of them fought outside.\u00a0 Back in the ring, Suziki took control and tried to pin Cobb with a foot on his chest, but only got a one count.\u00a0 They began trading forearm shots until Cobb went down.<\/p>\n<p>Cobb hit a running powerslam and a standing moonsault, but only got a two count.\u00a0 Suzuki hit the Gotch-style piledriver for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Minoru Suzuki (4) at 9:24. (***1\/2)<\/p>\n<p><i>(Bethany\u2019s Analysis: It was an okay match, but not on the level that you typically expect from Suzuki.)<br \/>\n<\/i><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-394237450\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><b>(3) KOTA IBUSHI (2) vs. TOMOHIRO ISHII (0)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>They stared each other down when the bell rang.\u00a0 Then they went for a collar-and-elbow and Ibushi pushed Ishii into the ropes.\u00a0 They went for another collar-and-elbow, and this time Ishii pushed Ibushi into the ropes.\u00a0 Ishii gave a clean rope break, but quickly tried to chop Ibushi.\u00a0 Ibushi ducked the chop.<\/p>\n<p>They did a stiff forearm exchange. Ibushi went down to one knee, but he got back up.\u00a0 Ishii chopped Ibushi in the chest several times, but Ibushi tried to shake it off.\u00a0 Ibushi hit Ishii with forearms, but Ishii no-sold it.\u00a0 They had a cool exchange where Ibushi was kicking Ishii and Ishii was chopping Ibushi.<\/p>\n<p>Ishii headbutted Ibushi in the ear.\u00a0 Ibushi hit a dropkick off of the top rope, but Ishii no-sold it.\u00a0 Ishii hit a power slam that Ibushi no-sold.\u00a0 They took turns hitting German suplexes that neither one sold.\u00a0 They got into a slapping contest, and Ibushi hit Ishii with a chop to take him off of his feet.\u00a0 Ishii got up and hit a huge Lariat that flipped Ibushi head-over-feet.<\/p>\n<p>Ibushi went for the Kamigoye, but Ishii countered with a headbutt.\u00a0 Ibushi hit a Bomaye for a near fall.\u00a0 Then Ibushi hit the Kamigoye for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Kota Ibushi (4) at 15:41. (****1\/2)<\/p>\n<p><i>(Bethany\u2019s Analysis: Amazing match!\u00a0 The chops, kicks, and slaps were just stiff and brutal.\u00a0 The match is must-see, and possibly match of the tournament so far.\u00a0 My recap doesn\u2019t do it justice.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>(4) WILL OSPREAY (4) vs. SHINGO TAKAGI (0)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This is a re-match from the finals in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament last year that many people considered match of the year.<\/p>\n<p>They started off with a test of strength, and then they invited one another to run the ropes and hit shoulder blocks.\u00a0 Ospreay wanted to shake Shingo\u2019s hand.\u00a0 Shingo shook hands, but then attacked Ospreay.<\/p>\n<p>Shingo went outside to slow things down.\u00a0 Ospreay followed him outside and Irish whipped him into the barricade. Back in the ring, Shingo hit a DDT.\u00a0 They went for a chop exchange.\u00a0 Ospreay did the handspring off of the ropes into a heel kick to the back of Shingo\u2019s head.\u00a0 Ospreay hit a standing Shooting Star for a two count.\u00a0 He then hit a Phenomenal Forearm and Shingo rolled out of the ring.<\/p>\n<p>Shingo was tied to the Tree of Woe and Ospreay hit a Van Terminator.\u00a0 Very cool spot.\u00a0 Ospreay hit a top rope Shooting Star for a two count.\u00a0 He went for an OsCutter, but Shingo countered.<\/p>\n<p>Ospreay hit an OsCutter for a two count.\u00a0 Shingo hit Made in Japan for a two count.\u00a0 Shingo hit a huge Lariat that turned Ospreay inside out and got a two count.\u00a0 Ospreay went for a spinning elbow, but they collide and both went down.<\/p>\n<p>Ospreay hit a Spanish Fly from out of nowhere and went for a pin, but Shingo reversed it and went for a pin of his own.\u00a0 Ospreay reversed that pin attempt into another pin attempt.<\/p>\n<p>Shingo got Ospreay in a Fireman\u2019s Carry and climbed the turnbuckle for a Death Valley Driver, but only got a one count.\u00a0 Then Shingo hit the Last of the Dragon and finally gets a three count.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Shingo Takagi (2) at 22:04. (****)<\/p>\n<p><i>(Bethany\u2019s Analysis: Another fantastic match that my recap doesn\u2019t do justice to.\u00a0 They had some really cool sequences that were too fast to keep up with.\u00a0 This is also a must-see match.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>(5) JAY WHITE (4) vs. KAZUCHIKA OKADA (2)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>White stalled to start the match, rolling in and out of the ring.\u00a0 Okada finally went outside and Gedo attacked him.\u00a0 Okada chased Gedo into the ring, and White came up from behind to attack Okada.<\/p>\n<p>They went back outside and White Irish whipped Okada into the barricade.\u00a0 White mocked the crowd with claps.<\/p>\n<p>Gedo tried to trip Okada, and Okada went after him on the outside.\u00a0 Okada chased him up the ramp.\u00a0 White followed them, and Okada hit a double DDT on them both on the ramp.\u00a0 Okada dragged White back to the ring.<\/p>\n<p>Okada hit the Tombstone and went for the Cobra Clutch, but White got a rope break.\u00a0 White attempted a couple of Slingblades, but Okada countered and hit him with a dropkick.\u00a0 Gedo got in the ring, but Okada dropkicked him.\u00a0 Okada hit the Rainmaker and applied the Cobra Clutch again.<\/p>\n<p>White hit the Slingblade for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jay White (6) at 18:50.
