AT SKYWAY STUDIOS<br \/>\nAIRED ON AXS TV<br \/>\nREPORT BY DARRIN LILLY, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/h3>\n<p><em>Commentators: Matt Striker, D-Lo Brown<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Video package recapping the matches from the Rebellion PPV.<\/p>\n<p>-A big group of wrestlers were gathered outside of Scott D\u2019Amore\u2019s office.\u00a0 Scott came out and said he knew that they were all after a title shot but to go to the ring so he could address it.\u00a0 The wrestlers left to go to the ring.\u00a0 Callis came out of the office and joined D\u2019Amore.\u00a0 Callis said that Omega would be there tonight for the in-ring celebration via Zoom, but D\u2019Amore said Omega had to be there in person or he would be stripped of the belt.<\/p>\n<p>-Show opening video.<\/p>\n<p>-Wrestlers surrounded the ring as D\u2019Amore took the mic and stood in the ring.\u00a0 D\u2019Amore congratulated Omega on his win and Swann for his performance.\u00a0 D\u2019Amore said there was no rematch clause for Swann, so they need to have a new number one contender.\u00a0 He said at Under Siege on May 15<sup>,<\/sup> there would be a six-way match to determine who would be the number one contender\u2014unless Omega doesn\u2019t show up tonight.\u00a0 If Omega doesn\u2019t show up, the match will be for the title.\u00a0 Callis has until the end of the night to present Omega.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Amore said the next two weeks would have matches to determine who would be in the six-way match.\u00a0 He called Jake Something to get in the ring.\u00a0 He said Jake always had the passion and the ability and he knew Jake was ready to go.\u00a0 D\u2019Amore said the first match would be Jake vs. Chris Bey.\u00a0 Bey\u2019s music played and he came to the ring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) CHRIS BEY vs. JAKE SOMETHING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The match began and the wrestlers stayed at ringside.\u00a0 Jake tried to use power moves, but Bey used speed to escape.\u00a0 Jake caught Bey with a clothesline.\u00a0 Bey retaliated with kicks and an elbow drop.\u00a0 Jake battled back with punches.\u00a0 Bey connected with a running forearm and a flying clothesline.\u00a0 Jake made a comeback with punches.\u00a0 Bey got out of a powerbomb attempt and came back with a kick.\u00a0 Jake finally connected with a powerbomb for a two count.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-2863489042\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Bey got a Canadian Destroyer for a two count.\u00a0 Jake blocked a cutter.\u00a0 Bey rolled Jake up for a two count.\u00a0 Jake hit a big clothesline.\u00a0 Bey made it to the ring apron.\u00a0 Jake threw Bey back in the ring.\u00a0 Rohit Raju held Jake\u2019s leg.\u00a0 Bey used the distraction to roll up Jake and get the pin, with his feet on the ropes.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Chris Bey in 7:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Take: Good mix of styles and a fun match while it lasted).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Callis was backstage on the phone, telling Omega to get to the arena.\u00a0 Sami Callihan approached Callis.\u00a0 Sami said that if Omega makes it to the arena, you won\u2019t know where and you won\u2019t know when, but Sami is coming for what\u2019s his. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Gia Miller was backstage interviewing Taylor Wilde.\u00a0 She was excited about returning to Impact and called it \u201cImpact-Palooza.&#8221;\u00a0 Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb approached.\u00a0 Tenille said she was honored that Taylor returned just to team with her.\u00a0 Taylor said she wasn\u2019t here to team with Tenille, but to beat Deonna Purrazzo for the title.\u00a0 She walked off.\u00a0 Tenille and Kaleb convinced themselves that Taylor wanted to team with Tenille.<\/p>\n<p>-D-Lo and Striker appeared on camera and ran down the matches for the show, as well as the qualifying matches for next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) W. MORRISSEY (a\/k\/a Big Cass) vs. SAM BEALE<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Morrissey took the mic and said we may know his face but we don\u2019t know who he is.\u00a0 He said the industry was filled with bad people.\u00a0 He said the only difference between him and other wrestlers is that he isn\u2019t afraid to admit it.\u00a0 Morrissey attacked Beale at the bell.\u00a0 Match was a basic squash.\u00a0 Morrissey won with a power bomb.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-4267613964\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>WINNER: W. Morrissey in 2:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Take: A squash match that served its purpose).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Gia Miller interviewed Kimber Lee, Susan and Deonna Purrazzo.\u00a0 Kimber Lee vowed to beat the returning Taylor Wilde tonight.\u00a0 Deonna said it was the perfect night for Lee and Susan to go out on their own.\u00a0 Lee said they\u2019ve got this and walked off.\u00a0 Gia asked if there was a reason Deonna didn\u2019t want to be there.\u00a0 Deonna got upset at the question and talked about her accomplishments.\u00a0 Deonna turned around right into Havok.\u00a0 They had a brief staredown and Havoc walked off. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Gia Miller interviewed Willie Mack about W. Morrissey\u2019s debut.\u00a0 Mack challenged Morrissey to a match at Under Siege.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) TAYLOR WILDE vs. KIMBER LEE (w\/Susan)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lee attacked Taylor at the bell.\u00a0 Taylor made a comeback with armdrags.\u00a0 Lee worked on Taylor\u2019s legs. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from the break, Lee was stomping Taylor in the corner.\u00a0 Lee put Taylor in a bodyscissors hold.\u00a0 Lee put Taylor in a camel clutch.\u00a0 Taylor battled out of a suplex and attempted to put Lee in a sharpshooter, but Lee made the ropes.\u00a0 With the ref distracted, Susan attacked Taylor with a shoe and choked her over the bottom rope.\u00a0 Both wrestlers traded punches.\u00a0 Taylor got the best of it.\u00a0 Taylor hit a series of clotheslines and rolled Lee up for a two count.<\/p>\n<p>Lee hit a stunner and a series of kicks.\u00a0 Lee missed a swanton.\u00a0 Taylor hit a codebreaker.\u00a0 Taylor put Lee in a sharpshooter into an Indian deathlock for the submission win.<\/p>\n<p>Susan attacked Taylor after the match.\u00a0 Tenille ran in for the save.\u00a0 Tenille raised her arm in the air.\u00a0 Taylor didn\u2019t seem receptive of the help.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Taylor Wilde in 9:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Take:\u00a0 Lee was a good first opponent for the returning Wilde.\u00a0 Wilde has some nice moves and performed well after being away from the ring for ten years.\u00a0 Judging from the vignettes in the prior weeks, it seemed like they had big plans for Taylor.\u00a0 The angle with Tenille seems like comedy, so perhaps they are starting her off slowly.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week: Eddie Edwards vs. Cousin Jake, vs. Petey Williams vs. Ace Austin. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Gia Miller (who is very busy tonight) interviewed Scott D\u2019Amore and asked if there was an update on Kenny Omega.\u00a0 D\u2019Amore said it wasn\u2019t the first time they had to deal with a difficult world champion (a veiled shot at\u2026.. someone?).\u00a0 Moose approached D\u2019Amore and complained about having to qualify for the six-man match.\u00a0 D\u2019Amore said Moose should be thankful.<\/p>\n<p>Moose grabbed D\u2019Amore\u2019s jacket and said just because they have a relationship wouldn\u2019t stop him from getting what he wants.\u00a0 James Storm approached holding two paper bags.\u00a0 Storm said his grandfather told him if he ever fights anyone bigger than him, he better bring a sack lunch.\u00a0 Storm said Moose was so big that he better give him two sacks.\u00a0 Storm gave the bags to Moose and walked off.\u00a0 Moose gave the bags to D\u2019Amore and said \u201cthis is on you\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) JOSH ALEXANDER (c) vs. ACE AUSTIN (w\/Madman Fulton) &#8211; Impact Wrestling X Division Title match\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alexander had control early, but Ace made a comeback and started taking over.\u00a0 Ace landed a series of elbows.\u00a0 Ace pulled out a playing card to give Alexander a paper cut.\u00a0 Alexander caught Ace coming back in the ring.\u00a0 Ace came back with a running clothesline to the corner.\u00a0 Alexander hit a Chaos Theory suplex on Ace.\u00a0 Alexander and Ace traded forearm shots.\u00a0 Alexander got a modified powerbomb on Ace for a two count.<\/p>\n<p>Ace connected with a big knee.\u00a0 Alexander had Ace in an ankle lock, but Ace fought back with kicks and got a close two count.\u00a0 Ace stomped Alexander in the corner.\u00a0 Alexander battled back with a punch.\u00a0 They fought on the apron and Ace pushed Alexander into the post.\u00a0 They battled on the apron again.\u00a0 Alexander dropped Ace on the ring apron.\u00a0 Fulton tried to interfere but Alexander knocked him down.\u00a0 Back in the ring, Ace and Alexander battled back and forth.<\/p>\n<p>Ace kicked Alexander in the head, then landed a flip on Alexander\u2019s knee.\u00a0 Alexander sold his leg.\u00a0 Ace pulled out a playing card.\u00a0 Ace went for a piledriver, but Alexander got out of it.\u00a0 Alexander got an ankle lock for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Josh Alexander in 12:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Take: Good match, as expected from these two.\u00a0 A nice start to Alexander\u2019s title reign).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Callis was on the phone and asked Omega\u2019s ETA.\u00a0 Johnny Swinger and Hernandez approached.\u00a0 Swinger said he was short on the money he owed Callis (for the $20,000 bet at Swinger\u2019s Palace).\u00a0 Callis said if Swinger had a stooge that could pick up Omega from the airport, they could settle the bet.\u00a0 Swinger said he did and walked off.\u00a0 Callis told Omega on the phone that a stooge or a moron would pick him up.\u00a0 [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Recap of Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering beating Fire N Flava for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles at Rebellion.<\/p>\n<p>-Gia Miller interviewed Grace and Ellering backstage.\u00a0 They talked about their victory at Rebellion and how Jazz was a big help.\u00a0 Fire N Flava approached.\u00a0 Tasha Steelz said that Ellering was the true star of the team.\u00a0 Tasha called Jordynne a fake ass Buzz Lightyear that had found her Woody.\u00a0 Ellering called them Cardi B and Cardi C.\u00a0 Fire N Flava said they had a rematch at Under Siege.\u00a0 Tasha told Ellering they would snatch those edges and those tag belts.\u00a0 This was a fun exchange.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) BRIAN MYERS vs. MATT CARDONA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This was another qualifying match for the six-man match at Under Siege.\u00a0 Myers and Cardona fought on the entrance ramp and then around ringside.\u00a0 Cardona got the best of it and threw Myers back in the ring.\u00a0 The bell rang.\u00a0 Myers attacked and got the upper hand.<\/p>\n<p>Myers missed a charge and Cardona threw him to the outside.\u00a0 They brawled at ringside and Myers threw Cardona into the ringside steps.\u00a0 Cardona held his knee.\u00a0 [c]<\/p>\n<p>The action was back in the ring and Myers had the upper hand.\u00a0 He worked on Cardona\u2019s knee.\u00a0 Myers ran Cardona\u2019s knee into the ring post.\u00a0 Cardona made a comeback and hit a dropkick from the second rope.\u00a0 Myers fought back and went after the knee again.\u00a0 Myers hit his reverse DDT.\u00a0 Cardona met a charging Myers with the Radio Silence and got the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Matt Cardona in 13:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Take: Classic 50\/50 booking.\u00a0 Looks like the feud will continue.\u00a0 I was surprised at the outcome, because I thought Myers would advance to the six-man match).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Violent by Design promo.\u00a0 Eric Young talked about disappointment and said they were a long way from winning their battle.\u00a0 He said that next week Rhino would win his match to represent VBD in the six-man match at Under Siege.\u00a0 No sign of W. Morrissey, so I guess his partnership with VBD was a one-time thing.\u00a0 [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Video package on El Phantasmo, with clips from his matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling.<\/p>\n<p>-D-Lo and Striker appeared on camera and speculated about if Omega would make it to the arena on time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(6) EDDIE EDWARDS vs. SAMI CALLIHAN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This was another qualifying match for the six-man match at Under Siege.\u00a0 Eddie and Sami traded the advantage.\u00a0 Eddie hit a dive to the outside on Sami. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Eddie was chopping Sami in the corner.\u00a0 Sami choked Eddie in the ropes and went on the attack.\u00a0 D\u2019Lo noted that if Omega didn\u2019t show up, that he would be stripped of the belt and be suspended from Impact and AEW.\u00a0 Eddie hit a rana off the top rope on Sami.\u00a0 Eddie hit a Blue Thunder Bomb on Sami.\u00a0 Sami got a powerbomb on Eddie.\u00a0 Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers ran in and attacked both wrestlers.\u00a0 Finjuice ran in and battled Team Omega but they got overpowered.<\/p>\n<p>Callis said the people wanted a celebration and they got it with this beatdown.\u00a0 He said to enjoy your Impact World Champion and pointed to Omega.\u00a0 Omega, Callis, and the Good Brothers celebrated.\u00a0 Striker asked who can stop Kenny Omega.\u00a0 D\u2019Lo said right now, no one could.\u00a0 Omega\u2019s theme music played as he and his partners walked up the ramp.\u00a0 Striker said that Impact was in trouble and under siege.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: No contest in 12:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(D.L.\u2019s Take: The match was broken up by a commercial and really never got a chance to get going).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>FINAL THOUGHTS:<\/strong> Good reset show after the events of the Rebellion PPV.\u00a0 The in-ring action was okay, but the matches set up the Under Siege PPV.\u00a0 The show-long storyline with Omega was fun and a good way to keep the audience interested.\u00a0 Good interviews (Gia Miller got a lot of screen time), with my favorite one being with Fire N Flava\/Ellering &amp; Grace.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>CATCH UP:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2021\/04\/23\/4-22-impact-wrestling-tv-report-final-hype-for-rebellion-including-omega-and-swann-promos-decay-vs-good-brothers-eric-young-vs-eddie-edwards\/\">4\/22 IMPACT WRESTLING TV REPORT: Final hype for Rebellion including Omega and Swann promos, Decay vs. Good Brothers, Eric Young vs. Eddie Edwards<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"pwtor-end-article-groups pwtor-entity-placement\" id=\"pwtor-2166167890\"><div id=\"pwtor-2709523874\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\nTHANK YOU FOR VISITING<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>IMPACT WRESTLING TV REPORT APRIL 29, 2021 (RECORDED) NASHVILLE, TENN.
