PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/h3>\n<p><em>Commentary: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">PRE-SHOW<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We opened with a graphic for Daffney and the ROH staff surrounding the ring for a ten-bell salute.<\/p>\n<p>-A video package recapped Bandido defeating Rush for the world title at\u00a0<em>Best In The World\u00a0<\/em>on July 11 followed by comments from tonight&#8217;s three challengers.<\/p>\n<p>-Riccaboni and Coleman discussed the main event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1a) HONOR RUMBLE FOR A ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>15 entrants.\u00a0 Staggered eliminations.\u00a0 Over the top rope elimination.<\/p>\n<p>#1 &#8211; Brian Johnson<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1655724343\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Johnson had a mic and claimed he demanded to be the first entrant.\u00a0 It&#8217;s mecca vs. everybody in his hometown.\u00a0 He got the crowd on his side with some sports references.<\/p>\n<p>#2 &#8211; Brian Milonas<\/p>\n<p>Milonas grounded Johnson with a headlock.\u00a0 Johnson mocked Milonas being in the pure division, then scurried to the floor under the ropes.<\/p>\n<p>#3 &#8211; Beer City Bruiser (w\/ Ken Dixon)<\/p>\n<p>The other half of The Bouncers was out with Ken Dixon carrying his keg for him.\u00a0 Bruiser yelled &#8220;Philadelphia sucks!&#8221;\u00a0 Johnson powered up but The Bouncers double-teamed him.<\/p>\n<p>#4 &#8211; Danhausen<\/p>\n<p>Big pop and the cameras found a small child dressed like him.\u00a0 Danhausen walked around the ring, playing to the fans.\u00a0 &#8220;Danhausen&#8221; chant as soon as his music stopped.\u00a0 He avoided a Bruiser splash and Bruiser connected with his partner.\u00a0 Danhausen wanted a double chokeslam but they slammed him instead.\u00a0 Coleman informed Riccaboni that it was going to be 16 people in this match, not 15 like he thought.<\/p>\n<p>#5 &#8211; Caprice Coleman<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1082664927\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Coleman pulled his sweater off at the commentary desk and strutted down to the ring, shirtless in dress pants.\u00a0 Coleman chopped away at The Bouncers.\u00a0 Spinning heel kick to Johnson.\u00a0 Cutter to Danhausen.\u00a0 Coleman clotheslined Bruiser over the top rope!\u00a0 Brian Zane joined Riccaboni on commentary.<\/p>\n<p>#6 &#8211; Sledge<\/p>\n<p>Coleman, Johnson, and Danhausen dumped Milonas over the top rope.\u00a0 Johnson eliminated Coleman off-camera.\u00a0 Sledge worked over Johnson.\u00a0 Danhausen encouraged him to eliminate him.\u00a0 Johnson went out through the ropes again.<\/p>\n<p>#7 &#8211; PCO<\/p>\n<p>PCO went after Johnson and tossed him back into the ring.\u00a0 The other three took turns working over Johnson.\u00a0 Things broke down between Sledge and PCO.\u00a0 Danhausen tried to make peace but PCO choked him.<\/p>\n<p>#8 &#8211; PJ Black<\/p>\n<p>Black hit a flurry of offense on everybody.\u00a0 Black and Johnson worked together as Riccaboni noted that Black has been mentoring Johnson lately.<\/p>\n<p>#9 &#8211; Dak Draper<\/p>\n<p>A fallaway slam sent Black into Johnson.\u00a0 With six wrestlers in the ring, everybody paired up in a different corner.<\/p>\n<p>#10 &#8211; Silas Young<\/p>\n<p>Young and Black almost eliminated Danhausen but he hung on.\u00a0 Sledge got Draper onto the apron but Draper backdropped Sledge out for an elimination.<\/p>\n<p>#11 &#8211; Rey Horus<\/p>\n<p>Horus went after Young.<\/p>\n<p>#12 &#8211; Dante Caballero<\/p>\n<p>The ROH Dojo student got a little showcase against Horus and Danhausen.\u00a0 Johnson tossed Danhausen out.\u00a0 Black tried to dump Johnson from behind but Johnson hung on.\u00a0 PCO grabbed Johnson by the throat but short-circuited, ran in the opposite direction, and eliminated himself.<\/p>\n<p>#13 &#8211; Flip Gordon<\/p>\n<p>2018 Flip Gordon ran out, clean-shaven with an American flag in Mini-Cena mode.\u00a0 He hit a flurry of kicks and eliminated Young.\u00a0 (Wow, it really is 2018 again.)<\/p>\n<p>#14 &#8211; Joe Keys<\/p>\n<p>Another dojo student, Keys also went after Horus right away.\u00a0 Caballero tried to toss his tag partner but Keys hung on and they came to blows.\u00a0 Gordon stopped them and encouraged them to too-sweet each other.\u00a0 They dropped him with stereo superkicks.<\/p>\n<p>#15 &#8211; The World Famous C.B.<\/p>\n<p>C.B. went after his students.\u00a0 Shotei to Caballero.\u00a0 One for Keys.\u00a0 Draper booted Caballero out for an elimination.\u00a0 Keys tried to dump Draper but Draped suplexed Keys to the floor.<\/p>\n<p>#16 &#8211; Alex Zayne<\/p>\n<p>Riccaboni welcomed Zayne back.\u00a0 He&#8217;s 2-0 in ROH.\u00a0 Zayne and Draper paired up.\u00a0 Draper spun him around with a stretch muffler but Zayne headscissored Draper out for an elimination.\u00a0 Johnson went after Zayne.\u00a0 C.B. and Horus traded blows.\u00a0 Horus kicked C.B. off the apron.\u00a0 Johnson eliminated Horus.<\/p>\n<p>Final four: Black, Gordon, Johnson, Zayne.<\/p>\n<p>Black and Johnson teamed up again against the high-flyers.\u00a0 Johnson tried to betray Black but Gordon threw Johnson out instead.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Let&#8217;s go Alex&#8221; chant.\u00a0 Black and Gordon both wound up on the apron in one corner.\u00a0 All three men began to climb the same corner.\u00a0 Gordon shoved Zayne into the ring.\u00a0 Leaping hurricanrana from Zayne to both men.\u00a0 Samoan pop from Gordon to Black.\u00a0 Gordon looked for a kinder surprise but Zayne shoved him off the top rope for an elimination.<\/p>\n<p>Zayne vs. Black.\u00a0 Zayne clotheslined Black over the top but he landed on the apron.\u00a0 Black charged Zayne with a crossbody against the ropes.\u00a0 They both flipped over the top rope but Zayne hung on while Black crashed to the floor.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER:\u00a0 Alex Zayne in 32:10.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 This was Zayne&#8217;s first match back on the indies since being released by WWE.\u00a0 &#8220;Ari Sterling&#8221; was only with WWE for about three months of TV time, almost exclusively on <\/em>205 Live<em> other than one enhancement loss to Cameron Grimes on NXT in June.\u00a0 Obviously no indication yet if he&#8217;ll be here to stay but he&#8217;s got a future world title match coming his way.\u00a0 Overall, a well-paced match.\u00a0 Everybody got a good shine and nearly all the eliminations were caught on camera.\u00a0 Danhausen was the most popular by far so it will be interesting to see how long ROH continues to keep him on the pre-show and in undercard matches.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Quinn McKay hit the stage to talk about the Women&#8217;s Championship tournament and brought out Maria Kanellis-Bennett.\u00a0 She thanked all the women who came before them and said, regardless who wins tonight, she&#8217;ll put her champ against anyone&#8217;s.\u00a0 There&#8217;s no forbidden door in ROH because there is no door.\u00a0 Anyone who&#8217;s interested is welcome.<\/p>\n<p>-Video package on Rok-C, Miranda Alize, and the women&#8217;s title match tonight.<\/p>\n<p>-Bandido arrived at the arena earlier in the day.\u00a0 Rhett Titus and Tracy Williams greeted him and said they were proud to have him as their champion.<\/p>\n<p>-Video package on the Woods-Gresham pure title match.<\/p>\n<p>-New tag team champions Kenny King &amp; Dragon Lee\u00a0 walked onto the stage in their civilian clothes.\u00a0 Lee asked how many LFI fans were in attendance.\u00a0 He said his brother Rush is out following surgery.\u00a0 Their match tonight was for him and their family.\u00a0 King took the mic and tried to get them back into heel territory by boasting about everyone they&#8217;ve beat.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t replace someone the caliber of Rush but you don&#8217;t need to when you&#8217;re as smart as he is.\u00a0 Once they take Shane Taylor out, the rest of the team will fold.\u00a0 STP stands for Shane&#8217;s too pussy.<\/p>\n<p>-Video package on the Castle-Isom match.<\/p>\n<p>-Zane headed backstage and Coleman returned to commentary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">MAIN CARD<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dalton Castle was out first with four fake Boys.\u00a0 Dak Draper joined commentary.\u00a0 Eli Isom was out second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) \u201cINFINITE\u201d ELI ISOM vs. DALTON CASTLE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They are #1 and 2 in the TV title rankings.\u00a0 Isom leapt over the ropes onto Castle.\u00a0 Isom backdropped Castle onto the apron and threw him into the barricade.\u00a0 Suplex to Castle in the ring.\u00a0 Castle connected with a knee strike off a distraction from the Boys.\u00a0 Castle worked over Isom.\u00a0 Sidewalk slam from Isom.\u00a0 Dueling chants from the live crowd.\u00a0 Isom ducked a clothesline and Castle went to the floor.\u00a0 Isom hit a neckbreaker and Draper fled from the commentary booth.\u00a0 He barked orders to the Boys and pulled Castle to the floor.\u00a0 Isom hit a moonsault that took out the Boys.\u00a0 Draper lunged but Isom kicked him between the legs.\u00a0 Castle hit a Bang-A-Rang for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Dalton Castle in 9:17.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Fine match that keeps Isom on the slow climb and protects him with all the interference.\u00a0 Castle is seemingly in line now for a shot at Dragon Lee&#8217;s TV title.\u00a0 A far cry from his days as world champion but it&#8217;s hard to argue for him being slotted any higher on the card these days.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) TAYLOR RUST vs. JAKE ATLAS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Riccaboni put over Atlas as being a proud gay spokesman and 6-3 on WWE television.\u00a0 Rust was out of the Diamond Mine and looking serious.\u00a0 Riccaboni acknowledged him beating Bobby Fish on NXT recently.\u00a0 Back and forth in the opening minutes.\u00a0 Rust caught Atlas with an ankle lock but Atlas escaped to the floor.\u00a0 Rust jumped onto Atlas&#8217; elbow.\u00a0 Rust continued to target his elbow and shoulder.\u00a0 Sole food.\u00a0 Todd Sinclair declared it a two-count but Atlas didn&#8217;t kick out and the crowd called him on it.\u00a0 Goya lock for the submission.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Taylor Rust in 6:59.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 They had a plan but that was a bit of a swing and a miss.\u00a0 The match was over before it began and things seemed a little shaky between them.\u00a0 Rust will appear at the TV tapings, Riccaboni mentioned.\u00a0 Maybe they just both need some more time getting the WWE-style out of their systems.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) VLNCE UNLTD (Homicide, Chris Dickinson, &amp; Tony Deppen) vs. LEE MORIARTY, LSG, &amp; JOHN WALTERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fans in the front row had &#8220;Sign Tony Deppen&#8221; signs.\u00a0 \u00a0Former world champ Homicide vs. former pure champ Walters in a battle of the veterans to start.\u00a0 Side headlock from Walters and Homicide couldn&#8217;t shake him, even after hitting a back body drop.\u00a0 Tags to Dickinson and LSG.\u00a0 Anklelock from Dickinson.\u00a0 Anklelock from LSG.\u00a0 Tags to Deppen and Moriarty.\u00a0 Taigastyle outwrestled Deppen, frustrating him.\u00a0 Tag to Dickinson.\u00a0 Moriarty put him in an abdominal stretch but Homicide raked the back.\u00a0 Walters in for a sharpshooter on Homicide but tied Deppen and Homicde together with their legs instead.<\/p>\n<p>Dickinson rallied his team at 5:00 and they began to isolate Walters.\u00a0 Homicide bit his fingers but Walters hit a lungblower.\u00a0 LSG tagged and went to work on Dickinson.\u00a0 Deppen hit a knee under the chin illegally while the referee tried to regain control.\u00a0 Springboard clothesline from Moriarty.\u00a0 Walters with a double Muta lock to Homicide and Dickinson.\u00a0 Deppen broke it up with a top rope double-stomp.\u00a0 \u00a0 Tag to Moriarty at 10:00.<\/p>\n<p>Moriarty vs. Dickinson.\u00a0 Enziguiri from Moriarty.\u00a0 The rest of Vlnce came in and everything broke down.\u00a0 Homicide took out all three opponents with a cannonball through the ropes.\u00a0 Dickinson pinned Moriarty with a death valley driver.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Vlnce Unltd in 10:58.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Classic ROH multi-man match.\u00a0 A Bullet Club special minus the Bullet Club.\u00a0 Naturally the cohesive team got the win and the new AEW signee took the pin.\u00a0 Everybody looked great here.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-The three singles wrestlers started to bicker over the loss but The Foundation (Jay Lethal, Rhett Titus, &amp; Tracy Williams) hit the ring in their civilian clothes.\u00a0 Lethal said it&#8217;s been a long time since there&#8217;s been an ROH pay-per-view without him wrestling.\u00a0 He was excited to watch guys like Eli Isom, to crown a new women&#8217;s champion, and to monitor the pure division.\u00a0 He put over LSG and the legend John Walters.\u00a0 He wished Moriarty was staying so the pure division could have him.\u00a0 The rest of the pure division walked out onto the stage while Lethal spoke about guys like Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Reckless Youth, and Alex Shelley paving the way for them.\u00a0 Wrestling in general is doing pretty damn good but now it&#8217;s time for pure wrestling to prevail.\u00a0 People have called the pure division new, fresh, and exciting but it&#8217;s nothing new.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the same stuff they all grew up on.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective: Lethal&#8217;s always masterful on the mic even if this didn&#8217;t really set up anything in particular.\u00a0 It was more of a mission statement and a call to arms.\u00a0 The pure division has truly come to define ROH during the pandemic era\u00a0 and stands out as something unique that differentiates them from other promotions.\u00a0 Lethal and Maria have both alluded tonight to being open to working with other promotions.\u00a0 It seems like they&#8217;re just waiting for those phone calls to come join the AEW\/Impact\/NJPW\/NWA party.\u00a0 It could make a real difference for ROH and help shake up their stagnant TV schedule.\u00a0 And it sure wouldn&#8217;t hurt guys like Lethal, Castle, and the Briscoes to compete against some new faces in new arenas.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) THE BRISCOES (Jay Briscoe &amp; Mark Briscoe) vs. THE OGK (Matt Taven &amp; Mike Bennett)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Briscoes attacked at the bell.\u00a0 Bennett avoided a Jay Driller.\u00a0 Mark avoided a Climax.\u00a0 The teams squared off.\u00a0 Taven and Mark officially started.\u00a0 Jay and Bennett tagged in.\u00a0 Taven took out Jay and Bennett at ringside with a top rope moonsault at 7:00.\u00a0 Mark followed with a top rope froggy-bow onto the ringside trio.\u00a0 Back and forth with neither team gaining the edge for too long.<\/p>\n<p>Mark and Taven back in at 10:00.\u00a0 Blockbuster off the apron to Taven at ringside.\u00a0 Froggy-bow in the ring but Bennett made the save.\u00a0 Jay threw a steel chair into the ring.\u00a0 They wanted a Redneck Boogie onto the chair but Bennett stopped it.\u00a0 Mark leapt off the chair to take out Bennett on the floor.\u00a0 Jay Driller countered into an inside cradle by Taven for the pin.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The OGK in 13:21.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 After his loss to Vincent, Taven needed a win and the Briscoes can obviously afford it.\u00a0 What&#8217;s the end game for them?\u00a0 A twelfth tag title run?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) \u201cTHE OCTOPUS\u201d JONATHAN GRESHAM vs. \u201cTHE TECHNICAL BEAST\u201d\u00a0 JOSH WOODS \u2013 ROH PURE CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both men fell into the ropes while locked up.\u00a0 The referee separated them and didn&#8217;t penalize either one a rope break.\u00a0 They went back into the ropes and the ref got heated at them for not listening to him.\u00a0 Back into the ropes again and he deducted them both a break.\u00a0 Reset at 4:30.\u00a0 Gresham with a leg scissors.\u00a0 Dropkick to the wrist and Woods came up nursing his left arm.\u00a0 Woods wanted a suplex but couldn&#8217;t with his bad arm.\u00a0 They went into the ropes and ignored the referee again.<\/p>\n<p>Back into the ropes yet again at 10:00.\u00a0 The ref penalized them both a second break due to their failure to comply with his orders.\u00a0 Inside cradle and they rolled around the ring in circles.\u00a0 The ref counted three with both men&#8217;s shoulders down.<\/p>\n<p>DECISION: Draw in 11:46.\u00a0 Gresham retains.<\/p>\n<p>Gresham refused to accept that.\u00a0 He wanted to go 13-0, not 12-0-1.\u00a0 The referee agreed to restart the match.<\/p>\n<p>They traded slaps.\u00a0 Legs grapevined and they wound up in the ropes again.\u00a0 The ref was fully tired of their shit and took away their third rope breaks.\u00a0 The fans chanted &#8220;We want Todd&#8221; for senior referee Todd Sinclair.\u00a0 Sunset flip to Woods for two.\u00a0 La Magistral for two.\u00a0 Body scissors to Gresham.\u00a0 Gresham pried away at the injured arm of Woods to free himself.<\/p>\n<p>They traded pins in the ropes at 15:00.\u00a0 Gresham came off the second rope but ate a kick on the way down.\u00a0 German suplex but Gresham landed on his feet.\u00a0 He unloaded on Woods&#8217; neck with elbows.\u00a0 Ankle lock.\u00a0 Woods rolled through and locked in his own.\u00a0 Gresham made the ropes but it didn&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 Woods dragged him back and Gresham escaped.\u00a0 Rolling German to Gresham for a visual three but the referee stopped his count and claimed Gresham got his shoulder up at two.\u00a0 Fans were skeptical.\u00a0 They traded forearms.\u00a0 Bridging German to Woods, who did kick out.\u00a0 Kimura to Woods.\u00a0 An inverted Alabama slam chucked Gresham backwards and onto the back of his head.\u00a0 He was out and Woods covered.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Josh Woods in 20:01 to capture the pure title.<\/p>\n<p>-Gresham strapped the belt around Woods&#8217; waist.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 I was very unsure about making the referee the story of the match but in the end the finish was all that mattered.\u00a0 The crowd was responsive to the title change and Woods felt like a star here.\u00a0 He is only the ninth Pure Champion in history and second since 2007, joining a list of bona fide legends like Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Nigel McGuinness.\u00a0 Gresham loves the pure division but I&#8217;d like to see him head into the world title picture now and let some of the new faces jockey around with Woods for a while.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-The challengers were out first for the trios title match.\u00a0 Shane Taylor Promotions was out second with O&#8217;Shay Edwards and another man at their side.\u00a0 As Taylor jawed with a fan, Kenny King caught him with a steel chair to the gut.\u00a0 He unloaded with more chair shots to the back until the rest of STP ran over.\u00a0 The medical staff said Taylor couldn&#8217;t compete; Edwards said he could.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(6) SHANE TAYLOR PROMOTIONS (Moses, Kaun, &amp; O&#8217;Shay Edwards) vs. LA FACCI\u00d3N INGOBERNABLE (La Bestia Del Ring &amp; ROH World Tag Team Champions Kenny King &amp; chant.\u00a0 Ankle lock from Rok-C.\u00a0 They went back and forth on the mat, trying for submissions before hitting a stalemate.\u00a0 Louder chant for Rok-C.\u00a0 Rok-C cartwheeled out of a headscissors.\u00a0 Alize slapped her across the face.\u00a0 Rok-C got heated and tackled her with a Thesz press.\u00a0 Alize chopped her across the chest.\u00a0 Facewash.\u00a0 Hesitation dropkick.\u00a0 Butterfly suplex.\u00a0 The fans were firmly behind Rok-C.\u00a0 Armdrag from Rok-C but Alize bit her fingers.\u00a0 She choked Rok-C on the second rope.\u00a0 Alize with a chinlock as she mocked the fans&#8217; chants.\u00a0 Rok-C dropped throat-first over the top rope.\u00a0 Basement hurricanrana for two.\u00a0 Rok-C tried to mount a comeback.\u00a0 Running uppercut.\u00a0 Double knees in the corner.\u00a0 Thesz press off the second rope at 10:00.<\/p>\n<p>Side Russian leg sweep to Alize.\u00a0 Handspring double knees.\u00a0 Ripcord knee from Alize but Rok-C got her shoulder up.\u00a0 Go to sleep but Rok-C kicked out again.\u00a0 Alize trash talked some more and hit a draping DDT.\u00a0 Miranda Rights locked in.\u00a0 Rok-C almost made the rope break but Alize pulled her back to mid-ring.\u00a0 She squirmed her way back and made the break.\u00a0 Rok-C dragged Alize to the floor and bounced Alize&#8217;s head off the barricade.\u00a0 Suicide dive!\u00a0 Alize dropkicked Rok-C off the apron.\u00a0 Alize with a suicide dive of her own.\u00a0 Both women were down at ringside at 15:00.<\/p>\n<p>They both rolled back in at the referee&#8217;s count of 19.\u00a0 They traded forearms.\u00a0 Cutter from Alize!\u00a0 Rok-C shot up and planted her with a kick of her own before collapsing again.\u00a0 Crucifix pin from Alize for two.\u00a0 She rolled into Miranda Rights again.\u00a0 Rok-C struggled, rolled back, and caught Alize with a crossface.\u00a0 Alize got her shoulders down for two.\u00a0 Alize with two kicks to the head.\u00a0 Drive-by blocked by a kick from Rok-C.\u00a0 Code Red!\u00a0 Alize kicked out&#8230; at three and a half.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Rok-C in 18:17 to become the first ROH Women&#8217;s Champion.<\/p>\n<p>-Rok-C&#8217;s parents came into the ring as fans showered her with streamers.\u00a0 Mom hugged her daughter and her stepfather scooped her up.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Just a fantastic match.\u00a0 They were given plenty of time and used all of it.\u00a0 Alize went hard heel and it made things so much better than the 50\/50 she was doing during the rest of the tournament.\u00a0 Neither looked nervous being on the big stage and the fans were right there with them.\u00a0 They got the penultimate match on the card and this felt like a big deal.\u00a0 Our new champion is a 19 year-old woman who&#8217;s been wrestling for years and been a lifelong wrestling fan.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a real statement to anybody paying attention that Maria&#8217;s women&#8217;s division is not the Women Of Honor we used to get so frustrated by.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;ve been following both of these women for years.\u00a0 Rok-C in Reality Of Wrestling.\u00a0 Alize in Rise Wrestling.\u00a0 It was a treat to see them in the finals here without a fear of &#8220;We need to have an established name veteran in the mix.&#8221;\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been a bit hard on Alize throughout the rest of the tournament but she was very strong here.\u00a0 In the last days of Rise she had an on-screen mentorship under Mercedes Martinez and I think that&#8217;s who I was trying to place during portions of this match with her mannerisms and facials.\u00a0 Rok-C, meanwhile, is the second coming of AJ Lee and the next Bayley in one.\u00a0 I think this was my favorite match of the year.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll have to stew on that some more.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(8) BANDIDO vs. EC3 vs. DEMONIC FLAMITA vs. BRODY KING \u2013 ELIMINATION MATCH FOR THE ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Elimination match.\u00a0 Not four-corner survival but rather all four men in the ring at the same time.\u00a0 Flamita bailed to ringside, then dragged Bandido out.\u00a0 King and EC3 went at it.\u00a0 EC3 clotheslined King over the top rope.\u00a0 The luchadors faced off in the ring.\u00a0 Flamita was sent to the floor and Bandido landed a Fosbury flop.\u00a0 Bandido with a suicide dive to King that sent Bandido right into the laps of the fans in the front row.\u00a0 EC3 grounded Bandido in the ring and slowed things down.\u00a0 King finally returned after taking one suicide dive four minutes earlier.\u00a0 EC3 continued to dominate everyone in the ring.\u00a0 Flamita hit him in the back with a steel chair but EC3 no-sold it.\u00a0 EC3 took the chair from him and cracked Flamita across the back.\u00a0 The bell rang.<\/p>\n<p><em>EC3 was eliminated via disqualification at 8:51.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The broadcast team explained that Sinclair was away somewhere (shades of the six-man tag) and didn&#8217;t see (or hear) the first chair shot.\u00a0 EC3 just walked sadly to the back without dishing out any further punishment to a chuckling Flamita.<\/p>\n<p>MexiSquad reunited to double-team King.\u00a0 They danced and hugged.\u00a0 More tandem moves and they shook hands.\u00a0 King took a Doomsday Device-style piledriver.\u00a0 Bandido turned on Flamita with a powerbomb, then backdropped Flamita onto King at ringside.\u00a0 Top rope moonsault took out both challengers.\u00a0 Flamita set up Bandido for a muscle buster.\u00a0 King hit a big boot to drop them both.\u00a0 All-Seeing Eye to Flamita for the pin.<\/p>\n<p><em>Demonic Flamita was eliminated at 13:47.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Chokeslam to Bandido.\u00a0 Piledriver.\u00a0 Bandido leaped off the top rope into a hurricanrana.\u00a0 Crucifix pin for two.\u00a0 Shooting star press but King kicked out at one.\u00a0 Discus lariat to the champ.\u00a0 Gonzo Bomb countered into a roll-up.\u00a0 La Magistral cradle for the pin.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Bandido in 17:14 to retain the world title.<\/p>\n<p>-The Foundation came out to applaud and shake Bandido&#8217;s hand.\u00a0 Gresham was the last to shake and kept his eye on the world title the whole time.<\/p>\n<p>Vincent and his cult walked out dressed all in white and sarcastically applauded from the stage.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 It was&#8230; a match.\u00a0 The first half with EC3 in control was very plodding.\u00a0 It was 100% him so you knew he&#8217;d be the first elimination but what a lousy way to do so.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll always be against doing two &#8220;the referee didn&#8217;t see the chair&#8221;
