{"id":135523,"date":"2022-03-18T16:57:45","date_gmt":"2022-03-18T21:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/?p=135523"},"modified":"2022-03-18T17:14:35","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T22:14:35","slug":"briscoes-vs-ftr-signed-for-supercard-of-honor-ppv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2022\/03\/18\/briscoes-vs-ftr-signed-for-supercard-of-honor-ppv\/","title":{"rendered":"Briscoes vs. FTR signed for ROH Supercard of Honor PPV on Apr. 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-1493637979\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><p>It appeared as though a Briscoes vs. FTR match might never happen after the two tag teams had an encounter at Final Battle 2021, but today it was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ringofhonor\/status\/1504915902533451776?s=20&amp;t=0T6xXhsCJPeL1cxkUheDqw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that the match is on.<\/p>\n<p>After Tony Khan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2022\/03\/18\/tony-khan-confirms-roh-supercard-of-honor-will-take-place-warnermedia-gives-blessing-for-it-to-go-head-to-head-with-rampage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a> that Supercard of Honor was happening on Busted Open and he would be running the show, it was announced The Briscoes will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship against FTR on April 1 at the Supercard of Honor PPV.<\/p>\n<p>A report that was published on by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/63672711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fightful<\/a> stated that AEW wasn&#8217;t going to sign the Briscoes due to a person of influence in Warnermedia that didn&#8217;t want them in AEW due to Jay Briscoe posting a homophobic tweet in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The tweet read, &#8220;\u201cThe Delaware Senate passed a bill yesterday that allows same sex couples to get married. If that makes you happy, then congratulations!!!!!! \u2026 try and teach my kids that there\u2019s nothing wrong with that and I\u2019ll f*cking shoot you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ROH fined Jay two shows worth of pay for his actions and had him donate the money to a charity organization called Partners Against Hate. Jay also issued an apology for his actions at an ROH live event. I don\u2019t want anybody, from any walk of life, to feel like they can\u2019t care for the Briscoes because I promise we love everybody.
