Rhodes was revealed to be the mystery opponent for Seth Rollins and defeated Rollins with Cross Rhodes in front of more than 70,000 fans inside AT&amp;T Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Rhodes spoke with <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/tv\/news\/cody-rhodes-wwe-wrestlemania-38-interview-1235221061\/\">Variety<\/a> ahead of the return and was candid about being back in the WWE fold. Notably, Cody said he believes he&#8217;s the best wrestler in the world.<\/p>\n<p>I told Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard and Nick Khan \u2014 this very small circle of individuals \u2014 I told them what I truly believe and it\u2019s that I\u2019m the best wrestler in the world,&#8221; Rhodes said. &#8220;And to go further with it, I actually don\u2019t think there\u2019s a close second. But with that said, the opportunity now exists to prove it, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m most excited about.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a completely different individual returning to the game. It\u2019s a different brand. It\u2019s someone who\u2019s experienced all the wonders of independent wrestling, of traveling internationally, of being able to get on the ground with the fans that make this whole ship move. But different person or not, I\u2019m still that little kid that I mentioned in an AEW promo that wants what my dad didn\u2019t get, and I\u2019m not going to say it out loud because I don\u2019t want to jinx it. But, you know, he went to Madison Square Garden, stood across from Superstar Billy Graham and he held it in his hands, the goal of mine, and it was taken away because that was the context of the match. I understand that now as an adult, but as a kid, that was the only reason I ever wanted to get in, so that I could get what he didn\u2019t get.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cody Rhodes is a former EVP in AEW and left that company earlier this year.
