In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/3250781\/2022\/04\/18\/triple-h-wwe-future-aew\/?source=user_shared_article\">The Athletic<\/a>, he spoke about what star power means in WWE and the patience it takes to create the stars they want.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Three years ago, \u2018The Tonight Show\u2019 would call and want a guest and ask for Triple H or The Undertaker or John Cena,&#8221; Triple H said. &#8220;There was a year I couldn\u2019t make it work and I asked them to pick Roman or Braun Strowman. They weren\u2019t interested. \u2026 Now Roman is on that show on his own. It takes time. You\u2019re building stars. It\u2019s not like flash-in-the-pan stars, where this guy\u2019s hot in boxing today and six months later, no one remembers him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You\u2019re trying to build generational stars that last,&#8221; Triple H said of WWE&#8217;s goal with talent. &#8220;It takes time. It\u2019s a slow and steady progression, and they\u2019re getting there. Becky Lynch, Roman, they\u2019re becoming household names.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Triple H also discussed the process WWE takes in developing talent and when they know which talents are ready and which aren&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The tryouts we did before, where there were a lot of athletes and experienced indie guys, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any less of a \u2018That\u2019s a rock star,\u2019\u201d Triple said of what the company is looking for. &#8220;The indie stuff, half of it is, \u2018He\u2019s a good in-ring performer, but the rest is a mystery. He\u2019s got bad habits I have to get him out of.\u2019 This is almost cleaner. It\u2019s a blank slate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The numbers force us to be more regimented,\u201d Triple H said. &#8220;We used to be like, \u2018Well, he\u2019s only been here a year, let\u2019s give him more time, see if he picks it up.\u2019 Now we know there\u2019s a six-month coming in the door of adapt, get rolling and then we\u2019re looking at your aptitude for this.
