The company announced the news on Monday morning via The Philadelphia Inquirer.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WWE <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ExtremeRules?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ExtremeRules<\/a> will emanate live from Philadelphia&#39;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WellsFargoCtr?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WellsFargoCtr<\/a> on Saturday, Oct. 8! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IaWJjYlewz\">https:\/\/t.co\/IaWJjYlewz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; WWE (@WWE) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WWE\/status\/1536335971037466624?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 13, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The event will be held at the Wells Fargo Arena. Tickets go-on sale July 15. Matches for the event have not been announced at this time. Like all other WWE PLE shows, Extreme Rules will stream live on Peacock.<\/p>\n<p>Given ECW&#8217;s connection to the Philadelphia market, Paul Heyman commented on the announcement to the Philadelphia Inquirer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s not about any particular arena,\u201d Heyman told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sports\/wwe-extreme-rules-2022-philadelphia-20220613.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Philadelphia Inquirer<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m equally at home in the Wells Fargo Center as I would have been at The Spectrum as I was at WCW in the Civic Center and at ECW at a dilapidated bingo hall on the wrong side of the train tracks at Swanson and Ritner. It\u2019s not about the four walls that host you, it\u2019s about the audience that\u2019s in there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a litmus test. There\u2019s an honesty from the Philadelphia sports fan that comes through, that permeates through the television set when you watch these events on television. There\u2019s no BS from a Philadelphia crowd. If they like you, they will reward you and bestow on you an affirmation that is quite \u2014 no pun intended \u2014 extreme and if they don\u2019t like you and don\u2019t like what you\u2019re presenting, their negative reaction is quite \u2014 no pun intended \u2014 extreme. You\u2019re going to know where you stand when you perform in Philly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next WWE PLE is Money in the Bank. Matches announced for that event include both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s Money in the Banks ladder matches.
