The report indicates that Shirai has spoken to people in Japan and told them that she wants to head home to be closer to her family and that there hasn&#8217;t been consideration to make a jump to AEW, Impact Wrestling, or any other United States based wrestling promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Shirai signed with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwe.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WWE<\/a> in 2017 and participated in the second Mae Young Classic tournament. She lost to Toni Storm in the finals.<\/p>\n<p>She won the NXT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2022\/06\/28\/6-28-nxt-2-0-report-wellss-report-on-jade-perez-vs-chance-carter-sanga-vs-xyon-quinn-ikemen-jiro-vs-giovanni-vinci-more\/\">Women&#8217;s Championship<\/a> in June of 2020 at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
