The company announced the news via press release on Friday night. The extension will keep him as an active member of the AEW roster, but also as a mentor and coach.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>October 7, 2022 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 AEW CEO, GM and Head of Creative Tony Khan announced that AEW World\u00a0 Champion Jon Moxley has signed a five-year contract extension. This ensures that one of\u00a0 professional wrestling\u2019s top stars will remain in All Elite Wrestling through 2027, while\u00a0 expanding his responsibilities to include mentoring and coaching talent. Moving forward,\u00a0 Moxley will work exclusively for AEW and its international partners, including New Japan Pro\u00a0 Wrestling, where he is a two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cJon Moxley is on the best run of his already legendary career, and this five-year extension ensures that he was not only here for AEW\u2019s meteoric rise, but also remains a key part of the\u00a0 sustained success we\u2019re witnessing, just days after the three-year anniversary show for AEW Dynamite,\u201d said Tony Khan. \u201cJon is a great world champion for us in his third reign.
