The government indicated they had a &#8220;pending non-public investigation.&#8221; The lawsuit could interfere with the DOJ criminal investigation.<\/p>\n<p>McMahon&#8217;s attorney, Jessica Rosenberg, told NBC News that Grant&#8217;s allegations are false. \u201cWe remain confident the evidence will prove Ms. Grant\u2019s allegations are false and her complaint is nothing more than a fabricated, vindictive narrative from a disgruntled former girlfriend,\u201d Rosenberg said.<\/p>\n<p>Grant alleges in her lawsuit that during her time employed by WWE, she was manipulated and lured into a situation with McMahon and another WWE executive, John Laurinaitis, that amounted to sex trafficking. McMahon responded that the allegations were &#8220;replete with lies&#8221; and &#8220;obscene made-up instances&#8221; that were a &#8220;vindictive distortion of the truth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Last January, one day after a lawsuit was filed by Grant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2024\/01\/26\/vince-mcmahon-resigns-from-chief-executive-position-in-tko-day-after-lawsuit-filed-against-him-alleging-sex-trafficking-of-a-former-employee\/\">McMahon resigned from his position<\/a> as Chief Executive of TKO Group Holdings Inc. and his role on the TKO Board of Directors\u00a0 accusing him of sex trafficking and sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p>NBC News reported last summer that federal investigators seized McMahon&#8217;s phone as possible evidence in their non-public investigation. WWE revealed in a quarterly financial disclosure that McMahon was served with a federal grand jury subpoena and had previously executed a search warrant the previous July.<\/p>\n<p>No charges have been filed, and the investigation won&#8217;t necessarily lead to an indictment.
