He told PWMania that he believes the series is &#8220;100 percent scripted,&#8221; and says he is typically skeptical of shows like that. But he also says some of the footage is 100 percent real and not staged. The following are highlights of that portion of the interview. Thanks to PWMania for sending along these highlights to PWTorch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On whether WWE: Unreal is scripted:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s 100 percent scripted. But then again, all of reality television is scripted. That\u2019s not even a knock on them\u2014it\u2019s just the nature of it. If you\u2019re not scripting it, then what are you really doing? I\u2019ve always been skeptical about stuff like that anyway. Like, I don\u2019t watch NASCAR, but when NASCAR comes to Atlanta, it\u2019s a huge event. And my pro wrestling brain immediately goes, \u2018If they\u2019re not scripting this, what are they doing? Just slow down and let the guy pass you!\u2019 You can create whatever narrative you want\u2014so why not create it? My son turned it on, and that part is completely legit. They\u2019re all sitting right there. For years, it was Vince sitting there when you walked through the curtain, and then when you came back. Now it\u2019s Triple H and his team. So all of that is absolutely real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>On the narratives and suspension of disbelief:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I question are the narratives being spun\u2014like, this person is mad at that person, you need to apologize, and so on. I don\u2019t know how much of that is legit. But it makes for great television. And at the end of the day, that\u2019s the name of the game. Even when you pull the curtain back, the goal is still to suspend the fans\u2019 disbelief. If you can take me from sitting on my couch to thinking, \u2018Man, I believe Tiffany and Charlotte really do hate each other,\u2019 that\u2019s beautiful. That\u2019s exactly what you\u2019re supposed to do. Whether it\u2019s through a reality show, a promo in the ring, using social media, or bending the internet a little\u2014that\u2019s the goal.
