He said the fans cheers were nice for a Ruler, but now he wanted a reception worthy of a King. Fans cheered again. (This wasn&#8217;t the best delivery here as he seemed a bit too serious, like being King had gone to his head, instead of being slightly more playful about it.) He said Jey Uso found out destiny was on his side, but destiny wasn&#8217;t over yet. He said he had a choice to make. At that moment, Brock Lesnar&#8217;s music interrupted.<\/p>\n<p>Lesnar walked out with Paul Heyman. &#8220;The Beast is back!&#8221; said Cole. Corey Graves talked about the history of Oba and Lesnar. Lesnar smiled his whole way to the ring and then laughed when he entered the ring. &#8220;Ladies and gentlemen, your King of the Ring, Oba Femi!&#8221; He apologized to Oba since he said he didn&#8217;t watch the show &#8220;and everyone knows I don&#8217;t watch the show.&#8221; He said he was once the King of the Ring, too. He said since he doesn&#8217;t watch the show, Paul Heyman keeps him up to date. He said Heyman told him that he has a decision to make. He said Heyman also calls him names when he&#8217;s not around, such as &#8220;coward&#8221; and &#8220;bitch.&#8221; He said he hears Oba can cut a pretty good promo, and he never good, &#8220;so that&#8217;s why I got Paul Heyman here.&#8221; (Stop with the META nonsense. There&#8217;s lot of in-canon storyline reasons Lesnar would want to associate with Heyman, but making better TV segments doesn&#8217;t really land unless we&#8217;re supposed to think that Lesnar knows to sell matches, he needs a pitchman to speak for him, but that is a stretch of logic that Lesnar would use.) Lesnar then said, &#8220;You know what they say: Talk shit, get hit,&#8221; Lesnar then kicked Oba in the crotch. Lesnar then gave Oba an F5.<\/p>\n<p>As Lesnar and Heyman walked away, Oba said, &#8220;You&#8217;re in front of me and you&#8217;re still a bitch.&#8221; He told him they could settle the score one-on-one at Summerslam. &#8220;What&#8217;s it going to be?&#8221; he asked. Lesnar said he accepted, but he wanted it to be a Hell in a Cell match. Behind Lesnar, Heyman went, &#8220;What!?&#8221; Cole stammered and said Oba has a championship opportunity from winning King of the Ring, too.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: So is Oba going to wrestle Lesnar on night one and then wrestle for a title the next night, which would give him an excuse to come up short? Or shuffle when the title match takes place or even move Lesnar-Oba to a different show, such as Saturday Night&#8217;s Main Event at Madison Square Garden?)\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-They went to Cole and Graves at ringside. Cole said they&#8217;d see what GM Adam Pearce had to say about it. They showed Iyo Sky, The Judgment Day, The Street Profits with Joe Hendry, and LA Knight backstage. Cole said The Profits would celebrate their tag title win with a concert by Hendry. Cole plugged that Roman Reigns would appear later. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-They showed aerial shots of US Bank Stadium in Downtown Minneapolis as Cole plugged the event. Then they commented on clips of the Lesnar-Oba angle before the break.<\/p>\n<p>-Heyman told Pearce backstage that he stands to make a ton of money on &#8220;thee match of all-time for the main event.&#8221; Pearce smiled. Austin Theory asked Heyman what he was doing there as he didn&#8217;t think he was there. He said he has a match and was trying to reach him. Heyman said, &#8220;You didn&#8217;t know I was here,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Well, now you know.&#8221; Heyman turned and walked away. Theory looked crestfallen and said, &#8220;Oh no.&#8221; Pearce then saw Oba and walked over to ask for clarification. Oba said the title will always be there and he&#8217;ll take it when he wants it. Pearce asked if he&#8217;s sure that&#8217;s what he wants instead of the title match. Oba said, &#8220;Yes, this has to end.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>-Cole said it was now official and Oba will, &#8220;at least for now, forgo his championship opportunity.&#8221;<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3766808548\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: This plays well into optimizing the star power and stature of Lesnar and Heyman to have Oba choose to face them rather than pursue a title. I&#8217;m not sure it&#8217;s great for the value of the title itself to have Oba kick that down the road, but hopefully that gets refined a bit soon. It seems The Vision is finished, or at least Theory is on his way out. With all the injuries, I get the idea of disbanding the group. I&#8217;m intrigued by what could happen now with Logan Paul and especially Bron Breakker.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) ETHAN PAGE vs. REY MYSTERIO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bell rang 26 minutes into the hour. They cut to an early break after Ethan caught Rey on the top rope and gave him a sideslam on the top turnbuckle. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Ethan remained in control after the break as Cole said the story of the match was Ethan working over Rey&#8217;s back. Rey took over and ducked a charging Ethan, who flew to the floor. Rey then ran and slid under the bottom rope head-first and landed a splash on Ethan. (Cole called it a &#8220;baseball slide,&#8221; which is kinda weird as most baseball slides are feet-first.) Back in the ring, Rey landed a senton off the top rope and a crossbody block for a two count.<\/p>\n<p>Ethan caught Rey a minute later and slammed him face-first into the mat for a two count. Ethan lifted Rey and struck a pose and a grin. Rey slipped free and knocked Ethan into position for a 619. Rey led the crowd in chanting &#8220;619!&#8221; Ethan recovered and caught Ethan with a boot to the face and scored another two count. Cole said it was a sellout crowd. (It&#8217;s strange they&#8217;re not pointing out that WrestleMania IV and V took place at this venue when it next to Trump&#8217;s casino.)<\/p>\n<p>Rey landed a 619 a minute later and followed with a top rope frog splash for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Rey Mysterio in 11:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: Interesting choice to book Rey in a clean win. Ethan seems in the phase of his WWE stint where he can defined up or down the card and fans will buy it, and losing clean to Rey in 11 minutes feels like a signal that they&#8217;re not that high on Ethan or he&#8217;s in the dog house for some reason. There&#8217;s no shame in losing to Rey, of course, and giving him a win is good to keep the perception of him by fans that he&#8217;s still relevant beyond a nostalgia act.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Backstage, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh were hanging out in Danhausen&#8217;s lab. The table with the human body shape under a sheet was behind them. Dom found a framed image on the wall that said on the back it was &#8220;To Danhausen, From The Knicks.&#8221; Dom said they could send Dom a little message &#8220;and make him come to us.&#8221; JD suggested they &#8220;wreck this place&#8221; before they leave.<\/p>\n<p>-They showed Knight pacing backstage. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Cole got in some plugs.<\/p>\n<p>-They went to the ring where Joe Hendry stood. &#8220;Same his name for he has appeared,&#8221; he said. He asked who was ready for a Joe Hendry concert. A recap aired of The Street Profits win last week. The Profits made their entrance. Montez Ford asked if he looks good in a suit. He was wearing a glittery leopard print suit. Fans chanted, &#8220;You deserve it!&#8221; We&#8217;re back to Ford saying things in a preacher cadence and then Angelo Dawkins yelling &#8220;Yeahhhhhh!&#8221; (Although his pitch is less ear-piercing tonight than in the past.) Ford acknowledged Seth Rollins for his help. Fans began singing Seth&#8217;s entrance theme, although briefly and softly. Ford then threw to Hendry to sing.<\/p>\n<p>Hendry sang a song. He said there will be no Bron Breakker and they won&#8217;t hear Logan Paul, nor Paul Heyman because he&#8217;s occupied with Brock, which leaves Austin Theory. He said Theory cries himself to sleep at night due to John Cena destroyed him on the mic, and now he&#8217;s in The Vision. Theory&#8217;s music interrupted. Graves said his prayers were answered.<\/p>\n<p>Theory said he talked to Pearce and they get a tag title match next week. He said Cena destroyed him on the mic just like he&#8217;s going to destroy him in the ring tonight. Hendry said no. He suggested they do it &#8220;right here, right now.&#8221; Theory stood on the ring apron and yelled at Hendry. They cut to a break. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) JOE HENDRY vs. AUSTIN THEORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The match was joined in progress after the break 55 minutes into the hour. Cole said Heyman blew off Theory earlier, Bron Breakker wasn&#8217;t there after the cage match with Seth, and both Logan Paul and Bronson Reed are injured. Cole noted that Hendry is a former NXT and TNA champion. Hendry landed a fallaway slam, then played to the crowd. He then turned and delivered his Hit Single move for a near fall. Theory fired back with a left and scored a two count. He then gave Hendry a neckbreaker over his knee for a two count. Hendry came back and landed his finisher for the clean win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Hendry in around 6:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: Not a good night for Ethan or Hendry, losing clean to opponents where, if they were being invested in and protected, wouldn&#8217;t have ended the way they did. That said, they&#8217;re doing something with Theory and Maxxine, so perhaps losing here without any help from The Vision cohorts is part of a storyline that repositions Theory on the roster.)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>[HOUR TWO]<\/h3>\n<p>-Raquel Rodrigues approached Adam Pearce backstage and said she wanted a shot at the IC Title. Pearce said she&#8217;s not the only one asking for opportunities, such as Maxxine Dupri. Raquel proposed a match against Maxxine. Pearce agreed. Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez walked up to her and they have problem to talk about, such as Iyo Sky coming after her plus the Danhausen curse. Raquel said she has her back. Liv seemed relieved.<\/p>\n<p>-They showed Iyo backstage. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Cole narrated footage of Paul Levesque and Robert Kennedy at an event for The President&#8217;s Counsel on Sports &amp; Fitness at the Boys &amp; Girls Club of America. Charlotte Flair, Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, and Austin Theory were part of the event.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: It&#8217;s been a while since they showed a heel doing charity work, which might portend where Theory is headed.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Sky made her entrance and then put the Queen crown on and waved to fans. She talked about beating Liv and said she&#8217;ll beat her again at Summerslam and win the Women&#8217;s World Title again. Liv&#8217;s music interrupted her (of course). Liv said she doesn&#8217;t respect her and has pissed her off, and so she&#8217;s on her bad side. She said that&#8217;s dangerous for others, including Finn Balor and Stephanie Vaquer. Raquel and Perez surrounded Siy. Sky knocked Perez out of the ring and then ducked a charging Raquel. When Liv entered the ring, Sky blocked an Oblivion attempt and took her to the mat. She played to the crowd and then kicked Liv in the head. She set up a moonsault off the top rope, but Raquel and Perez attacked her. They knocked her down so she was hanging from the top rope and worked over her knee. Liv then gave Sky an Oblivion. The she applied half Boston crab. Officials ran to the ring, so the heel trio left. Cole said Sky will have to overcome massive odds to win at Summerslam. Graves said the odds don&#8217;t look good as Sky appeared to be hurt.<\/p>\n<p>-They went to Cole and Graves at ringside. They commented on clips of last week&#8217;s LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso match with Solo Sikoa&#8217;s interference, and then Solo Sikoa vowing to align with Knight and Knight turning him down.<\/p>\n<p>-Knight made his entrance. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) JIMMY USO vs. LA KNIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jey joined in on commentary. The bell rang 20 minutes into the hour. Knight eyed Jey at ringside suspiciously. Knight jumped to ringside and told him to stay in his seat. Cole said Knight has become paranoid as of late. Jey agreed. A graphic noted Raw would return to the usual time next Monday. (They&#8217;re taping Friday&#8217;s Smackdown tonight, thus the earlier start time live on Netflix.) They cut to a break after Jimmy dove onto Knight at ringside at 5:00. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from the break, Jey was shown cheering on Jimmy. Knight rallied with a Russian leg sweep and a neckbreaker. Jimmy caught Knight with a kick and a spear for a two count. Knight knocked Jimmy off balance on the top rope. Knight leaped to the top rope and superplexed Jimmy. Jey stood. Knight scored a near fall at 11:00. Knight landed a wrecking ball kick. Jey accused Knight of pulling Jimmy&#8217;s hair and told the ref. Knight threatened to throw Jimmy at Jey, then laughed. Knight then kicked Jey as soon as he turned back to Cole.<\/p>\n<p>Back in the ring, Knight landed an inverted DDT. Knight leaped off the top rope with an elbowdrop. Jey then jumped onto the ring apron. Knight turned to knock him off. Jimmy schoolboyed Knight for a three count.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jimmy in 13:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: When Jey appeared at ringside, this was the obvious predictable finish.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Afterward, Jey attacked Knight. Solo Sikoa showed up at ringside and gave Jimmy a Samoan Spike. Solo retreated into the crowd while smiling and gloating. Knight then gave Jimmy a BFT, then looked at Solo.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: As has been the case throughout this, fans aren&#8217;t sure how to react to any of it.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-They went to Cole and Graves at ringside. Cole said Knight might not want to align with Solo, but he might have no choice. Cole plugged WWE Unreal&#8217;s next season on July 21.<\/p>\n<p>-A clip aired of Gunther yelling at GM Nick Aldis backstage and poking him in the chest. He accused Aldis of being jealous of him because he&#8217;s a failed pro wrestler. He shoved Aldis against a wall. Officials separated them.<\/p>\n<p>-They went back to Cole and Graves. He said they were both sent home and Aldis was placed on administrative leave until the matter is investigated and Pearce would be in charge of both Raw and Smackdown in the mean time.<\/p>\n<p>-They showed Chad Gable warming up backstage when Penta eyed him.
