{"id":220599,"date":"2026-08-08T12:04:04","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T17:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/?p=220599"},"modified":"2026-08-08T12:04:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T17:04:04","slug":"nxt-feud-tracker-brandlers-take-on-the-developments-with-kendal-grey-and-lola-vice-over-the-nxt-womens-title-dangelos-interactions-with-waller-and-cruz-over-nxt-mens-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2026\/08\/08\/nxt-feud-tracker-brandlers-take-on-the-developments-with-kendal-grey-and-lola-vice-over-the-nxt-womens-title-dangelos-interactions-with-waller-and-cruz-over-nxt-mens-title\/","title":{"rendered":"NXT FEUD TRACKER: Brandler&#8217;s take on the developments with Kendal Grey and Lola Vice over the NXT Women&#8217;s Title, D&#8217;Angelo&#8217;s interactions with Waller and Cruz over NXT Men&#8217;s Title"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-3424504299\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><p>This edition of NXT television gave us two championship matches and began the process of setting up the card for NXT Heatwave.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NXT WOMEN\u2019S TITLE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Champion: Kendal Grey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kendal Grey defended her NXT Women\u2019s Title in an \u201cUnderground Match\u201d against the former Women\u2019s champion, Lola Vice.\u00a0 These two combatants went after each other with submissions, strikes, and potential knockout blows.\u00a0 Early in the match, Grey banged her ear into the ring side steps.\u00a0 Kendal was bandaged up by the medical staff and continued.\u00a0 Late in the match, as Vice was going to hit Kendal with her backfist, she accidentally hit the ref.\u00a0 She then hit a knockout blow on Grey.\u00a0 Grey was revived by BFF Wren Sinclair and went after Vice.\u00a0 Grey won by tap out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandler\u2019s Bit:<\/strong> I have never been a fan of the past Underground Matches.\u00a0 This one was excellent, however.\u00a0 It had high drama and was hard hitting. Vice is leaving NXT and made Kendal look strong.\u00a0 When Kendal was bleeding from the ear, I flashed back to the NWA Starrcade Chain Match between Roddy Piper and Greg Valentine.\u00a0 In that match, Piper was hit in the ear by the chain and was gushing blood.\u00a0 He was disoriented and couldn\u2019t stand.\u00a0 Grey\u2019s performance was reminiscent of Pipers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Champions: The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes &amp; Brad Baylor w\/Jackson Drake &amp; Lockwood)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Vanity Project (VP) were making their sixth defense of their NXT Tag Team Titles against the team of NXT North American Champion Myles Borne and his friend and partner Tavion Heights. Borne &amp; Heights obtained the title shot when Borne defeated Kam Hendrix on last week\u2019s episode of NXT.\u00a0 Borne &amp; Heights were able to use their superior wrestling skills to override the athletic double teams of the champs.\u00a0 The champs took control of the match.\u00a0 As the challengers made a comeback, Drake and Lockwood attempted to interfere as they have throughout VP\u2019s title reign.\u00a0 Somehow the interference was seen by the referee who sent them to the back to the locker room.\u00a0 The challengers hit stereo power slams to make the champs woozy.\u00a0 Heights hit his \u201cHeights of Glory\u201d finisher for the win and we have NEW NXT Tag Team Champions!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandler\u2019s Bit:<\/strong> This is a great win for the double champion Borne and Heights.\u00a0 They combine power, wrestling skills and agility.\u00a0 It was very surprising that the Vanity Project lost the titles.\u00a0 Will there be \u00a0 a rematch at NXT Heatwave?<\/p>\n<p><strong>NXT WOMEN\u2019S SPEED TITLE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Champion: Wren Sinclair<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3204144823\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Wren Sinclair the NXT Speed Champion took on the Women\u2019s NXT North American Champion Zaria. The stipulation was that if Wren successfully defends the title she will get a North American Title match against Zaria.\u00a0 In this five-minute title match, both combatants wrestled as though there was no time limit.\u00a0 Wren was smooth; Zaria used power moves.\u00a0 As the clock ran down, their pace picked up.\u00a0 Both Zaria and Wren ended up outside the ring with eight seconds to go. This shirt amplified his comments about the Men\u2019s NXT roster from last week.\u00a0 Cruz Montana came out and after some back and forth with Waller stated, \u201cI\u2019ve spent years showing that I belong here; you\u2019ve spent years trying to get people to notice you.\u201d Ouch.<\/p>\n<p>Tony D got control of the proceedings and made the match for next week, Waller vs. Montana.\u00a0 The winner will face D\u2019Angelo at NXT Heatwave.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandler\u2019s Bit:<\/strong> Both Waller and Montana\u2019s regurgitated their comments from last week.\u00a0 They continue to be clear about their goals and why they think they should be the \u201ctop dog\u201d in the Men\u2019s Division.\u00a0 I would like to see a one-on-one match at NXT Heatwave because that usually leads to a decisive winner.\u00a0 NXT loves to have triangular configurations so I\u2019m guessing that we will have a triple threat match.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3861295725\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>MID-CARD MATCHES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thea Hail &amp; Jaida Parker vs. Nakitta Lyons &amp; Karmen Petrovic (with Nattie)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This match was set up when Hail threw in the towel during the recent Jaida vs Nattie match.\u00a0 Jaida and Hail had some chemistry but were an odd couple pairing.\u00a0 Both Lyons and Petrovic are part of Nattie\u2019s stable.\u00a0 After some good solid exchanges, Lyons was thrown out of the ring by Parker.\u00a0 Jaida tagged in Hail who hit a trust fall senton for the win.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandler\u2019s Bit:<\/strong> Both Parker and Hail have been in NXT for three-four years.\u00a0 It was clear that their experience in the WWE system is paying off.\u00a0 This duo demonstrated their skill level and growth to produce an interesting match.\u00a0 The Jaida vs. Nattie feud needs to have a proper ending.\u00a0 I guess that this happens at NXT Heat Wave.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EK Prosper vs. Keanu Carver<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prosper has two wins over Carver.\u00a0 Carver has beaten Hank &amp; Tank. His booking has been all over the place.\u00a0 On commentary both Vic and Booker T commented about the \u201cnew\u201d Keanu Carver.\u00a0 He was working slower, wasn\u2019t rushing and seemed more confident.\u00a0 Prosper is in the Je\u2019Von Evans class of worker, lots of high impact moves with great gymnastics and power.\u00a0 Just when it seemed that Prosper would win again, Carver won with a small package roll up!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandler\u2019s Bit:<\/strong> Who is Keanu Carver? Is he a highly muscled power athlete with an intense motor? (like Monty Brown.) Is he a hot-headed jerk who gets in his own way causing himself to lose? (insert any wrestler you like.) Is he a methodical big man who can win a match with a roll up?\u00a0 I understand the purpose of NXT is to help to develop character and wrestling style.\u00a0 They are certainly developing Carver since he changes his persona every week.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NEXT WEEK ON NXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Montana Cruz vs.\u00a0 Grayson Waller for the NXT Men\u2019s Heavyweight Title number one contender designation (Cruz should win, but I wouldn\u2019t rule out some screwy ending to get to a three match at Heatwave)<\/li>\n<li>Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair for the Women\u2019s North American title(Is this how Wren moves up the card?
