Backstage arrivals from Stephanie Vaquer, Becky Lynch, and The Judgment Day set the tone for a busy night ahead.<\/p>\n<p>-Michael Cole recapped Roman Reigns\u2019 appearance on Raw last week and rolled footage of the confrontation. After the highlights, Cole announced that Royce Keys suffered a bruised larynx and a cervical strain and is out indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p>-Solo Sikoa interrupted Cole from the crowd, mocking Jey Uso\u2019s entrance music as he made his way through the audience. Solo said he came to Raw to handle \u201cfamily business.\u201d Jey Uso entered and stared Solo down from the ring, telling him he needed to fall in line. Solo fired back, saying Jey has fallen off since rejoining The Bloodline and listing Jey\u2019s accomplishments from his singles run. Jey countered by saying Solo is only in WWE because of The Bloodline. Jey challenged Solo to a match tonight, and Solo accepted\u2014with the stipulation that if he wins, The Bloodline leaves Jey alone.<\/p>\n<p>-The bracket for the luchador tournament aired, followed by promos from Penta and Laredo Kid.<\/p>\n<p>-Penta made his entrance for his tournament match against Laredo Kid. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Backstage, Jey Uso crossed paths with Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso. Fatu asked why Jey was out there with Solo. Jey said he was handling the Solo problem\u2014something Jacob failed to do. Fatu told Jey the only way Solo comes back is if Jey wins tonight.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-920570899\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><strong>(1) PENTA vs. LAREDO KID \u2013 No. 1 Contender Tournament Round One<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Penta opened the match by grounding Laredo Kid with a headlock. Laredo fired back with a missile dropkick, drawing a mixed reaction from the crowd. Corey Graves noted that Penta\u2019s usual speed advantage wouldn\u2019t be a factor tonight with Laredo Kid matching him stride for stride. Laredo Kid followed with a gorgeous moonsault to Penta on the floor, giving him early momentum. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Coming out of the break, Penta began to assert control with a pair of backbreakers. Laredo Kid regained steam with a Poisonrana and a 450 splash, but only managed a two count. Laredo hesitated on the follow\u2011up, allowing Penta to catch him with a sharp kick to the jaw and a backstabber for his own near fall.<\/p>\n<p>Both men traded heavy chops mid\u2011ring before Penta launched into a tope con hilo. He hit the Penta Driver, but Laredo Kid kicked out at two. Penta stayed on him, finally landing a Mexican Destroyer to secure the victory and advance in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Penta in 11:00 to advance to the semi-finals to face the winner of Psycho Kid vs. La Parka.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Robert\u2019s Recap: Great opening match to the tournament. Both luchadores got to showcase their athleticism, and Penta looked every bit like the early favorite. A potential Penta vs. Roman matchup would be a spectacle stylistically. The crowd didn\u2019t seem familiar with most of the tournament field, so WWE will need to introduce these talents effectively. If handled well, this could be excellent exposure for AAA.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Michael Cole ran down the road to the Royal Rumble, noting that WWE\u2019s European tour will lead directly into the event.<\/p>\n<p>-Backstage, Byron Saxton interviewed The Vision. Logan Paul dismissed Alpha Academy as beneath them. Austin Theory promised to beat up Akira Tozawa. Bron Breakker spent the entire interview staring off into the distance before abruptly asking Saxton what he thought of Oba Femi. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Highlights aired from last week\u2019s Raw, showing Akira Tozawa running out to save Joe Hendry from The Vision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) AUSTIN THEORY (w\/Maxxine Dupri) vs. AKIRA TOZAWA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tozawa opened the match trying to lean on his quickness, but Theory\u2019s power immediately cut him off. Every attempt Tozawa made to fire back was smothered, and a backbreaker from Theory kept him firmly in control. Bron Breakker was shown again, expressionless, staring off in the distance. Tozawa tried to rally with a series of chops, but Theory continued to dominate heading into the break. [c]<\/p>\n<p>A DDT from Tozawa finally gave him an opening to unleash his speed. A sharp kick to the face followed by a shining wizard earned him a two count. Tozawa hit a set of Yes Kicks that backed Theory into the corner, but Theory blasted him with a brutal left forearm to score the win.<\/p>\n<p>After the match, Theory grabbed a chair, but Adam Pearce and WWE executives rushed out to stop him. Bron stood in the ring, ready to hit a Spear on Tozawa, when the lights dimmed and Oba Femi\u2019s music hit. Oba walked to the ring as Bron stared him down. Femi stepped inside, but officials flooded the ring to separate the two. Logan Paul pulled Bron out as tensions cooled\u2014for now.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Theory in 9:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Robert\u2019s Recap: The crowd was clearly invested here, rallying behind Tozawa even though he was outmatched for most of the match. The in\u2011ring work wasn\u2019t anything special, but it effectively added more heat to Theory. It was refreshing to see WWE officials actually stop Theory before he could escalate things. The tease of Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker was easily the strongest part of the segment and gave the post\u2011match angle real weight.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Cathy Kelley interviewed Rey Mysterio backstage. Rey said he was excited to have Raw returning to Mexico. Dominik interrupted, complaining that he was left out of the tournament. Rey shot back that he didn\u2019t think Dominik wanted another handout. Dragon Lee stepped in and told Dominik he\u2019d go to Adam Pearce to secure a match between them.<\/p>\n<p>-Stephanie Vaquer was shown walking backstage. She told the WWE Universe she missed them\u2014and missed seeing The Judgment Day fear her. She warned Liv Morgan that she should be scared because the title belonged to her.Becky Lynch had heard enough and came out to confront Vaquer. Stephanie asked Becky what she wanted. Becky said she wanted to beat up Liv and claimed Liv had dragged the title back to the 2000s. Lynch admitted she didn\u2019t know much about Vaquer but acknowledged the impact she\u2019s made on Raw. Becky took a jab at Stephanie\u2019s injury history and told her she didn\u2019t deserve the title. Vaquer warned Becky not to get in her way.<\/p>\n<p>-Liv Morgan blindsided Becky from behind while Stephanie walked up the ramp. Becky recovered quickly and prevented Liv from hitting the Oblivion.<\/p>\n<p>-Cathy Kelley interviewed LA Knight in the parking lot. Knight said Roman always repeats himself but appreciated him setting up the tournament. Knight declared he would win the tournament and beat Roman. Kelley informed him it was a luchadores tournament. Knight brushed it off, saying that was convenient for him. Solo Sikoa approached and asked Knight for help in his match tonight. Knight reminded him their alliance was only temporary.<\/p>\n<p>-Dominik Mysterio made his entrance. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) DOMINIK MYSTERIO vs. DRAGON LEE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dragon Lee opened aggressively, attacking Dominik at the bell. A hurricanrana sent Dominik crashing into the corner, but a big boot from Dom quickly swung momentum his way. Corey Graves plugged Dominik\u2019s upcoming match against El Grande Americano at TripleMania as Dom maintained control. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Dragon Lee regained momentum with a Tornado DDT for a two count. He followed with a tope con hilo to the outside, knocking Dominik down. Dom halted the comeback with a Michinoku Driver. Dominik hit the 619, but when he went for the Frog Splash, Lee got his knees up. Dragon Lee capitalized immediately, hitting Operation Dragon to score the win.<\/p>\n<p>After the match, Big Cass blindsided Dragon Lee, planting him with the East River Crossing. Evans ran down to make the save.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Dom in 11:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Robert\u2019s Recap: I feel the AAA Mega Champion should be booked far stronger than this. Losing to Danhausen and now Dragon Lee is questionable, especially if WWE is serious about spotlighting AAA talent. If the goal is to elevate AAA on a global stage, one of their top champions shouldn\u2019t be taking repeated losses on television. A champion representing another promotion should look like a genuine threat, not an easily beatable guest. WWE can still tell compelling stories while protecting the aura of a visiting world champion, and right now they\u2019re not doing that.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Byron Saxton interviewed Sol Ruca backstage and asked for her thoughts on her upcoming tag match against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Sol said she\u2019s been stuck in a vortex with The Judgment Day and needed a partner she could trust. Danhausen appeared, offering to team with her\u2014at a \u201csmall discount.\u201d Sol told him the spot was already filled and walked off.<\/p>\n<p>-Danhausen immediately asked Byron for money, which was a firm no.<\/p>\n<p>Solo Sikoa was shown warming up backstage for his match against Jey Uso. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-Michael Cole announced that pre\u2011sale registration is open for the 40th anniversary of the Royal Rumble, taking place in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>-LA Knight was shown arguing with Adam Pearce backstage about the tournament. Knight suggested he could simply put on a mask to enter. Pearce said he and Rey Mysterio had spent weeks putting the tournament together, but promised he\u2019d find another path for Knight to earn a number\u2011one contender\u2019s spot.<\/p>\n<p>-Jacob Fatu was waiting for Knight to finish. He told Knight he \u201cdoesn\u2019t get it\u201d and warned him to stop talking about his family. Knight fired back that Fatu should go to Roman and get a permission slip if he wants to fight him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) ROXANNE PEREZ &amp; RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ vs. SOL RUCA &amp; IYO SKY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both teams made their entrances. Sol Ruca and Raquel Rodriguez started things off, with Sol gaining the early advantage. Raquel muscled her into the corner and tagged in Roxanne Perez. Sol quickly tagged in Iyo Sky, and the two showed surprisingly smooth teamwork for a pair who had never teamed together. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Coming out of the break, Ruca hit a rough\u2011looking X\u2011Factor on Raquel, leading to double tags. Iyo caught a big boot from Raquel and redirected it straight into Roxanne\u2019s face. A Bullet Train Attack from Iyo dropped Raquel. Roxanne tagged Raquel back in, who hit a Tornado DDT.<\/p>\n<p>Iyo landed another Bullet Train Attack and tagged in Sol, but Raquel cut her off before Ruca could inflict more damage on Roxanne. Sol recovered and hit the Sol Snatcher, giving her and Iyo the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Ruca &amp; Sky in 12:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Robert\u2019s Recap: Sol Ruca still has work to do in the ring, but she genuinely improves week after week. The potential is there, and she\u2019s starting to show more confidence in bigger spots. I\u2019m not sure why WWE wouldn\u2019t advertise Iyo Sky being on the card\u2014given the way the story has been framed, I initially thought Stephanie Vaquer would be her partner. The Women\u2019s Intercontinental Championship picture also needs clarity. Iyo and Sol feel like the front\u2011runners to challenge Raquel, but there are plenty of women in the locker room who deserve a shot. WWE has the depth; they just need to define the direction.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Bron Breakker confronted Paul Heyman backstage and asked if Heyman thought Oba Femi was \u201cthe future.\u201d Heyman said he respected Oba for doing exactly what he said he would do to Brock Lesnar. Bron pressed him again, demanding a direct answer. Heyman told Breakker he would continue respecting Femi\u2014until Bron gave him a reason not to.<\/p>\n<p>-Jey Uso was shown warming up for his match against Solo Sikoa. [c]<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Penta and Rey Mysterio were talking backstage when Chad Gable stepped in. Gable praised Penta for his tournament match and thanked Rey for helping put the tournament together. Gable then offered Rey a match for the Intercontinental Championship. Rey accepted, saying he still had plenty left in the tank.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Iyo Sky and Sol Ruca walked through backstage celebrating their victory. They ran into Lyra Valkyria, who warned Sol not to stand in her way of reclaiming the Intercontinental Championship.<\/p>\n<h3>[HOUR THREE]<\/h3>\n<p>-Jey Uso walked through the crowd on his way to the ring for his match. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) JEY USO vs. SOLO SIKOA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jey and Solo circled the ring, jawing at each other before locking up. Solo told Jey he was happy where he was, then seized early momentum\u2014mixing in mocking \u201cYeet\u201d chants as he worked Jey over. Solo tossed Jey to the outside heading into the break. [c\/dp]<\/p>\n<p>Jey answered back after the break, throwing Solo out of the ring and diving through the ropes to take him down. Back inside, Jey hit a top\u2011rope splash for a two count. Solo regained control with a Samoan Drop. Jey went for the Spear, but Solo cut him off with a spinning heel kick, then hit Spinning Solo for a near fall.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy Uso jumped onto the apron to distract Solo. Jey capitalized and hit the Spear for a close two count. Jimmy distracted Solo again, and Solo responded by hitting the Samoan Spike on his own brother. The chaos opened the door for Jey\u2014he hit another Spear followed by the Uso Splash to score the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jey in 12:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Robert\u2019s Recap: The chirping between Solo and Jey was genuinely entertaining\u2014it felt like two brothers arguing in the backyard before deciding to settle it in the ring. This was one of Jey\u2019s stronger matches in recent memory, and the chemistry between the two continues to shine. Solo\u2019s shift toward a babyface role, paired with finally letting him speak, has opened the door for him to become the star he looked destined to be back in NXT. He\u2019s showing personality, confidence, and emotional range that WWE never tapped into during his silent enforcer run. If they stay the course, Solo could break out in a major way.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(Show Recap: We\u2019re officially on the road to Survivor Series, and you can feel the pieces starting to move into place. The Women\u2019s Intercontinental Championship picture is finally heating up, especially with Lyra Valkyria stepping back into the mix. The tension between Oba Femi and Bron Breakker continues to be one of the most compelling threads on Raw\u2014it\u2019s the kind of slow\u2011burn rivalry that makes tuning in every Monday night feel worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p>Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, and Stephanie Vaquer circling each other has the potential to become a main\u2011event\u2011level Triple Threat if WWE decides to go that route. Maybe it\u2019s still early to talk Survivor Series, but the show is clearly laying groundwork.
