He said it was a privilege to return to Arena Mexico last week. He said last year when Dynamite went to Arena Mexico, he found out from his mom that his grandfather died. He said his grandfather was his hero and he was sad he&#8217;d never see him wrestle again and, most of all, he&#8217;d miss his wedding.<\/p>\n<p>Ospreay said Omega didn&#8217;t appear at Arena Mexico last week, but he was in the arena tonight. He asked him to join him in the ring unless Michael Nakazawa was too busy &#8220;trimming your tiny Canadian testicles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Don Callis&#8217;s entrance &#8220;theme&#8221; played and he walked out. He said they were in the birthplace of AEW, but neither of them were on the first AEW show. He took credit for bringing Ospreay to AEW. He talked about leading Omega to the AEW World Title, but said now he thinks he can do it on his own. He said he did more damage to Omega than diverticulitis.<\/p>\n<p>He said the road to Wembley isn&#8217;t paved in gold, it&#8217;s paved in Ospreay&#8217;s blood. Jake Doyle, Mark Davis, Trent Beretta, and Rocky Romero attacked Ospreay from behind. Callis yelled, &#8220;Go for the neck!&#8221; Omega came out and cleared the ring with a metal pipe. Ospreay looked concerned and cowered. Omega wound up, but then held back.<\/p>\n<p>Omega said he feels everything Ospreay says when he speaks from his heart, but as much as he feels, he never thinks. He asked what he thought would happen. He said he warned him about Callis and Moxley. He brought up MJF going around calling himself &#8220;The Real World Champion.&#8221; He said Ospreay will lose everything.<\/p>\n<p>He stood over Ospreay sitting in the corner. He said that&#8217;s not the Ospreay he wants to face at Wembley. He helped him stand. He told Ospreay that he hopes he understands that he can&#8217;t help him like that again. &#8220;From here on it, it&#8217;s me and you.&#8221; Ospreay yanked the mic away and said he appreciates the help, but he didn&#8217;t ask for it. He said he won&#8217;t need any more of his help. He thanked him and dropped the mic as his music played. Then they showed Omega soaking up the moment as the music switched to his.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: Ospreay was his usual self, while opening up to the audience with a personal story. Omega&#8217;s tone and delivery entered that &#8220;haunted house villain&#8221; territory a bit, feeling put on. Callis was strong here, but it&#8217;s not clear how he factors into a match where he&#8217;s enemies with both babyfaces.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-They went to Excalibur, Schiavone, and Wight at ringside. Excalibur said the Continental Cup Final will take place at All In in 18 days. Then he narrated clips of the Continental Cup matches that took place on Collision last week. Then they hyped the scheduled matches and promos. A clip aired of Andrade&#8217;s win last week to earn the no. 1 spot in the Casino Gauntlet, with MJF attacking Andrade afterward.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1666671490\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><strong>(1) MJF vs. &#8220;SPEEDBALL&#8221; MIKE BAILEY vs. NICK WAYNE &#8211; Winner Earns #2 Slot in the Casino Gauntlet match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MJF came out first. Then Speedball and finally Wayne. The bell rang 20 minutes into the hour. Excalibur said Andrade wasn&#8217;t medically cleared to fly to Vegas. After the bell rang, MJF dropped to ringside and said, &#8220;I&#8217;m going to let these two twinks battle this out.&#8221; He said he&#8217;ll show he&#8217;s not just the one true champion, but the undisputed champion of AEW. He called Schiavone &#8220;a fat old prick.&#8221; Wight said that was unnecessary. He said he&#8217;d like to punch MJF in the mouth.<\/p>\n<p>They put a message on the screen from Andrade that said he&#8217;s not feeling well, but he did fulfill a couple scheduled matches over the weekend, but now he would rest for a while. He said it wasn&#8217;t serious and he&#8217;d be back soon. Wayne landed a running flip dive onto Speedball at ringside. Speedball came back with a springboard moonsault. MJF finally entered the (empty) ring and he ran the ropes and then gave the crowd double middle finger gestures. His left thigh was heavily taped. Speedball landed a missile dropkick to knock MJF to the floor. Wayne and Speedball battled back and forth again. Wight said MJF is pond scum, but it has worked for him.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne held Speedball as MJF punched him. MJF then told Wayne it&#8217;s a big deal to be in the ring with him. Wayne spun MJF around. MJF slapped him. Wayne kicked him in the head. MJF tumbled to ringside. Wight complimented MJF&#8217;s ring smarts. Speedball landed a springboard moonsault onto MJF and Wayne at ringside. They cut to a break at 8:00. [c\/db]<\/p>\n<p>Back from the break, MJF punched Wayne out of mid-air on a Wayne&#8217;s World attempt. MJF gave him a a powerbomb onto his knee. Bailey landed a shooting star press on MJF as he went for the cover. Speedball hit Wayne with a tornado roundkick to the side his head. He then hit his Ultimate Weapon. MJF threw Speedball out of the ring and then applied Salt of the Earth on Wayne to get the tapout in.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: MJF 12:00 to earn the no. 2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet match<\/p>\n<p>-Afterward, MJF said the champ always wins. He said he&#8217;s never lost a day in his life. He said that&#8217;s why he&#8217;s walking into Wembley and he&#8217;ll leave with the Casino Gauntlet contract. He said no one in the back can stop him. Andrade&#8217;s music played. MJF feigned being scared, then laughed. &#8220;How you know Andrade&#8217;s here?&#8221; He said they know he&#8217;s not there because he whipped his ass last week. He said he&#8217;s a gutless little worm. He said Andrade, Omega, and Ospreay are all scared of him. He said they will find out that he is the one true champion. He held up the invalid AEW World Title belt.<\/p>\n<p>-Divine Dominion stood at a bar and talked about how they&#8217;ll massacre The Brawling Birds at Wembley.<\/p>\n<p>-Excalibur got in some plugs.<\/p>\n<p>-Mick Foley interviewed The Bang Bang Gang backstage. Jay White talked about facing David Finley and also hoping to face Jon Moxley later. They played up their shared &#8220;bang bang&#8221; catch phrases. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) &#8220;SWITCHBLADE&#8221; JAY WHITE vs. DAVID FINLAY &#8211; Continental Cup First Round match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Renee Paquette did a ringside report. She said Juice Robinson told her these two know each other so well that in a previous life, they could have been brothers, but here they want to annihilate each other. Excalibur said the matches in the Continental Cup are blind draws. An inset soundbite aired with Finlay. The bell rang 43 minutes into the hour. Excalibur said they both joined the New Japan Dojo in 2015 and were young lions together and have shared the ring more than 100 times. They cut to a double-box break at 4:00. [c\/db]<\/p>\n<p>At 10:00 they battled on the top rope. They battled back and forth in the ring. White clutched the back of his neck after a bridge on a suplex. Everyone paused nervously. Wight said it might be a stinger. White continued and set up a suplex, but Finley landed a back elbow. White went down and used the ref to help himself stand. Finlay landed a DDT for a two count. There were dueling chants from the fans during the match.<\/p>\n<p>White gave Finlay a brainbuster for a near fall at 13:00. He followed up with a Switchblade a minute later for the clean win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: White in 14:00 to advance in the Continental Cup. [c]<\/p>\n<h3>[HOUR TWO]<\/h3>\n<p>-Brody King, Bandido, and &#8220;Hangman&#8221; Adam Page made their entrance to celebrate winning the AEW Trios Titles. Schiavone interviewed them. Bandido thanked &#8220;Mr. Tony.&#8221; Brody said he likes his actions to do his talking, but he announced they&#8217;re the new champions. Hangman asked if they minded &#8220;if a white boy speaks a little Espanol.&#8221; Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland instead walked out onto the stage.<\/p>\n<p>Excalibur said he has returned and he wondered if he was going to rekindle his rivalry with Hangman. Excalibur called it a tense moment. Nana told Schiavone his breath is worse every week so please leave the ring. He said he&#8217;d be asking the questions going forward. He asked, &#8220;Whose house?&#8221; Fans didn&#8217;t react much. Swerve brought up the phrase &#8220;trauma bonding.&#8221; He looked at Brody, Bandido, and Hangman and asked what happened to this place while he was gone.<\/p>\n<p>Swerve addressed Bandido, Brody, and Hangman one at a time. He asked Hangman what he&#8217;s doing with his career and what his legacy is going to be. He asked if he&#8217;s going to ride off into the sunset with Brody and Bandido. Hangman said he has watched what Swerve has been up to, and he doesn&#8217;t have room to judge others on results. He said he&#8217;s done heinous shit this year and has nothing to show for it. Ricochet&#8217;s theme played and he walked out with GOA and Jay Lethal&#8217;s Lethal Twist crew.<\/p>\n<p>Ricochet said this is official Trios business. He focused on Swerve and said he&#8217;s just one person and he doesn&#8217;t belong out there. He said Kaun and Toa would like to put his old ass down. He said Swerve and Nana abandoned them, but he led his team to become Trios Champions. He said those titles were stolen from them by Brody, Bandido, and Hangman. He said their shoulders weren&#8217;t down, so the belts should be around their waists. He said if the left hand doesn&#8217;t get them, the right hand will. Hangman wondered what that meant. Ricochet told them to &#8220;get to steppin'&#8221; out of his arena.<\/p>\n<p>Swerve walked up to Ricochet on the stage as Richochet continued to yap at him. Swerve raised his arms and smiled as he walked past Ricochet. He said Brody is doing all the barking, but Ricochet is the bitch.<\/p>\n<p>Hangman said Swerve has a point. He asked them to get their dumbasses to the ring and try to take the belts from them.\u00a0 Ricochet said they&#8217;d do it on their time and then left with his cohorts.<\/p>\n<p>-They went to Excalibur, Schiavone, and Wight at ringside.<\/p>\n<p>-A segment aired from earlier of Mercedes Mone interrupting Renee interviewing Willow. She bashed Willow with a title belt. She called her a dumb bitch. (That&#8217;s two resets of the Bitch-o-Meter in back to back segments.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) KEVIN KNIGHT (w\/Don Callis) vs. CHRIS JERICHO &#8211; TNT Title match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chris Jericho made his ring entrance first. They found three middle aged guys in the crowd singing lyrics to &#8220;Judas,&#8221; as usual. Knight and Callis then made their entrance. The bell rang 16 minutes into the hour. Fans chanted &#8220;F&#8212; Don Callis! F&#8212; Ice Too!&#8221; Wight said he never had more fun or more success with a partner than he did with Jericho. He said he was his favorite partner. Jericho landed some early chops as Schiavone said he can still execute at a top level. He landed a double underhook backbreaker for an early two count. Fans chanted, &#8220;You still got it!&#8221; Jericho leaped off the top rope onto Knight at ringside. Jericho sat in Wight&#8217;s lap as a smiling Wight asked, &#8220;What are you thinking!?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jericho ducked a backflipping Knight, but Knight caught him with a flying clothesline. They cut to a double-box break at 4:00. [c\/db]<\/p>\n<p>They fought on the ramp and then Jericho leaped off the top rope in the ring. Knight blocked him, but Jericho countered with a Walls attempt. Knight turned into a small package. They traded several two counts. Knight tried to use his feet on the ropes for leverage. The ref caught him. Jericho rolled up Knight and put his boots on the middle rope to score a near fall. Knight gave Jericho a pendulum DDT mid-ring. Both were down and slow to get up.<\/p>\n<p>When Knight punched Jericho in the corner, fans counted along. Knight yelled at them that this was his time and they should shut their mouths. Jericho powerbombed Knight off the top rope for a near fall. Jericho then put Knight in The Walls. Callis rolled into the ring to distracted Jericho. He then spiked Jericho in the forehead with a screwdriver after Jericho oddly scooted Knight closer to the ropes. Knight then landed a Coast to Coast for a believable near fall at 12:00.<\/p>\n<p>Knight leaped off the top rope, but Jericho caught him with a Code Breaker (it didn&#8217;t look good) for a near fall. Knight ducked a Judas Effect. Knight gave Jericho a low blow and then a Crash Landing for the win. The ref didn&#8217;t see the low blow as she was yelling at Callis at ringside.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Knight in 13:00 to retain the TNT Title.<\/p>\n<p>-They went backstage to The Death Riders. Claudio said he&#8217;ll face whoever comes next. Pac said it&#8217;s them against the world. Jon Moxley then spoke about facing Jack Perry. [c]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) KRIS STATLANDER vs. VIVA VAN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stat&#8217;s ring entrance aired. Van was already in the ring. The\u00a0 bell rang 35 minutes into the hour. Schiavone touted Van&#8217;s seven years of international experience and said she&#8217;s the first Vietnamise-American female wrestler to make an impact in the U.S. Statlander set up a superplex, but Van blocked it and then landed a dropkick. Stat won after landing a discus lariat and her Inverted Wednesday Night Fever.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Statlander in 3:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Keller&#8217;s Analysis: I like the inclusion of this match to let Stat get a clean win and get her finishing move over.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Foley greeted Stat in the ring for a post-match interview. Fans chanted &#8220;Foley!&#8221; Foley plugged that his t-shirt will be available soon. He pointed at his daughter Noel at ringside. Foley told Stat that she&#8217;ll be in a four-way match with Maya World, Persephone, and Hikaru Shida next week for the TBS Title. Stat said she feels great and ready to fight. She said Maya earned her title, but she&#8217;ll make Persephone and Shida bend over backwards and shove their heads up their own asses. She said she was made for the TBS Title. &#8220;I fought literal wars for the TBS Title,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>-Persephone came out laughing to her music. Shida then joined her to her music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) HIKARU SHIDA &amp; PERSEPHONE vs. THUNDER ROSA &amp; MAYA WORLD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bell rang 43 minutes into the hour. They cut to a double-box break at 3:00. [c\/db]<\/p>\n<p>Maya landed a top rope dropkick on both opponents and got in a flurry of offense. She rolled up Shida and then caught Persephone and overhead tossed her and bridged back to get a two count on Shida. Wight said you can&#8217;t scout that kind of power. Shida came back with a Falcon Arrow for a near fall, broken up by Rosa. World ended up getting a three count on Shida with a suplex into a bridge after Shida mistakenly crashed into Persephone. Statlander walked out to raise World&#8217;s arm.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Maya &amp; Rosa in 10:00.<\/p>\n<p>-They went to Darby Allin backstage who said every week he was AEW Champion, he defended the title. He said he gambled and lost, and he burned the candle at both ends. He said now Knight is burning the candle at both ends. He challenged him to a Falls Count Anywhere match at Wembley. He said if he can beat him at his own game, he&#8217;ll have lived up to the potential he saw in him years ago. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-They went backstage to Renee interviewing Kyle Fletcher with Callis. Fletcher said Speedball always brings the best out of him. He said he is having the greatest International Title reign of all time. He said he has defended his title three times in three countries. He said he&#8217;s looking forward to Wembley Stadiun and All In for his fourth country. Callis said there&#8217;s a former International Champion who wants a shot. Fletcher said he didn&#8217;t want to hear it was Konosuke Takeshita. Callis said technically yes, but revealed he &#8220;extracted&#8221; something else from Tony Khan, which was also adding Okada to the match. Fletcher was dismayed. Okada told Fletcher the only thing that matters is that the International Title stays in the family. Callis said with gusto and enthusiasm, &#8220;What a guy!&#8221; As he gushed over Okada, Fletcher left in disgust.<\/p>\n<h3>[OVERRUN]<\/h3>\n<p><strong>(6) &#8220;JUNGLE&#8221; JACK PERRY vs. JON MOXLEY &#8211; Continental Cup Tournament match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Renee said if Perry wins tonight, they are guaranteed to see a new Continental Champion in the tournament. She noted they have never wrestled each other in a singles match before. She said together, Perry and Mox are the only two who have between them held every men&#8217;s title in AEW. Fans chanted &#8220;Moxley! Moxley!&#8221; after his entrance. The bell rang 4 minutes into the hour.<\/p>\n<p>Perry dove through the ropes at Mox, but Mox side-stepped him and elbowed him. &#8220;He knocked his ass out of the air is what he did,&#8221; said Schiavone. Mox played to the fans. Perry came up bleeding after hitting the ringpost. Perry fought back, but Mox rammed his head into the announce desk. Perry threw Mox over the barricade and through a table. As Mox played to the crowd, they cut to a double-box break at 4:00. [c\/db]<\/p>\n<p>Mox took control as Perry bled more from the forehead. Mox yelled at Perry in the corner that if he wants to a be a main eventer, this is his chance. Perry came back with a dropkick and then landed a dive through the ropes. He followed with a second top\u00e9, a flip dive over the top rope, and a moonsault off the top turnbuckle. Fans chanted &#8220;AEW! AEW!&#8221; Perry landed a flying top rope elbow back in the ring for a two count.<\/p>\n<p>Mox kicked out and immediately applied a sleeper. Perry leveraged Moxley&#8217;s shoulders down. Mox escaped and landed a lariat. He followed with a Gotch-style piledriver for a near fall. &#8220;Man, has he got heart!&#8221; said Wight. Schiavone said Mox was pissed because he thought it was over. Mox scored another near fall seconds later. Mox battered Perry on the mat. The ref pulled Mox off and wanted to check if Perry was knocked out. Perry showed some signs of life and began to stand. He slapped Mox and gave him a middle finger to the forehead.<\/p>\n<p>They leaned in on each other. Perry gave him double middle fingers. Perry rebounded off the ropes and surprised Mox with a clothesline and a kick. He showed fire and then set up a piledriver. Mox blocked it. Perry rolled up Mox for a two count. He then applied a Snare Trap mid-ring. Mox teased tapping. Mox (too easily) pulled Perry arm off his throat. Perry shifted to a John Cena-style loose STF. Mox slipped free and applied his signature Bulldog Choke. Perry showed fight before fading.
