Schiavone ran down some of the evening\u2019s matches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) BRODY KING &amp; BANDIDO &amp; \u201cHANGMAN\u201d ADAM PAGE vs. THE LETHAL TWIST (Jay Lethal &amp; Blake Christian &amp; Lee Johnson) \u2013 AEW World Trios Championship match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Lethal Twist made their way to the ring before Brody King\u2019s music played to bring out the trios champions. There was an \u201cF Ice\u201d chant before the crowd barked for Brody and the bell rang to start the match four minutes into the show.<\/p>\n<p>Page caught Blake out of the air on a crossbody attempt and slammed him to the mat. Page hit a dropkick on Lethal and transitioned into a moonsault onto Johnson. Page made the cover, but Johnson kicked out at two. Page hit senton from the apron and tagged in Bandido who hit a senton of his own.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson and Blake came back and stomped Bandido down in the corner. Bandido took Blake down with a headscissor. Bandido pressed Johnson above his head, but he slipped off and forced Bandido into the corner. Blake and Johnson hit bandido with a combination of strikes in the corner before they cut to the first commercial. [c]<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1613383580\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Back from break, Bandido caught Lethal with a boot and landed a twisting crossbody from the middle rope that left both men down. Brody got the tag and hammered Johnson and Blake with chops and strikes. Brody stacked Johnson and Blake in the corner and hit them with a running avalanche followed by a flipping cannonball that crushed them in the corner. Brody made the cover on Johnson, but he kicked out at two.<\/p>\n<p>Page hit Johnson with a springboard lariat that knocked him off the apron. Page connected with a plancha to the outside on Johnson, but Lethal blindsided him with a boot. Bandido hit Lethal with a kick on the outside as Brody stacked Blake and Johnson in the barricade corner. Brody hit them both with a running crossbody against the apron. As they recovered, Page landed a moonsault onto Johnson and Blake the first railing in the crowd. Page hit a moonsault on Johnson in the ring and made the cover, but Johnson kicked out at two.<\/p>\n<p>Blake and Lethal took down Brody, Bandido, and Page with a series of thrust kicks. Lethal hit a dive onto Brody at ringside as Blake held him in place. Johnson and Blake hit Brody with a combination reverse DDT and double stomp on the outside. Back in the ring, Johnson hit a splash onto Brody and made the cover, but Brody kicked out at two.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd chanted \u201cthis is awesome\u201d as Johnson, Lethal, and Blake hit running strikes on Brody. Page came in with a sudden Buckshot Lariat on Blake and Bandido hit Lethal with a knee to the face. Brody lifted Johnson up, allowing Page and Bandido to give him a thrust kick before finishing the Gonzo Bomb. Page and Bandido hit dives to the outside on Blake and Lethal as Brody pinned Johnson for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS:\u00a0 Brodido &amp; &#8220;Hangman&#8221; Adam Page in 13:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: Even though the trios titles are weakest titles in the industry, there was still no chance that The Lethal Twist were winning here. Not an ideal sidequest for Hagman, but if they actually want to put some focus on the trios division and titles, him teaming with Brodido is a solid focal point. The match was, of course, very entertaining. Though I mock the idea of them winning, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson are both exciting young talents while Lethal is a respected veteran. Hangman and Brodido are also all great in the ring in their own way and bring a chunk of star power to help accentuate the in-ring action.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Ricochet came out after the match to say he likes to rain on their parade. Toa Liona and Bishiop Kaun took out Page, Brody, and Bandido with an attack from behind. Lethal and Blake joined in the beatdown. Ricochet walked to the ring to say, \u201cwhen you\u2019re in demand, you make demands.\u201d Kaun and Liona added that if you don\u2019t follow demands, then you get put down. Ricochet dropped his trademark laugh before leaving the trios champs lying.<\/p>\n<p>-Lexy was backstage with Don Callis, Hechicero and Brian Cage. She asked if their match could cause dissention. He said one man\u2019s dissention is another man\u2019s competition. He was fine, because there\u2019s a 100% chance of a Callis Family member advancing. Cage said something to Hechicero in Spanish, which Callis (presumably incorrectly) translated to mean \u201cI love you.\u201d Callis turned to Lance Archer and said \u201cnobody dies\u201d as Cage and Hechicero walked off. [c]<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1570917282\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Lexy asked Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy, and Kyle O\u2019Reilly if they\u2019re feeling pressure. Cassidy said he feels pressure because he could face O\u2019Reilly or Strong in the next round. O\u2019Reilly said he respects Strong, and that will never change regardless of what happens in the ring. Strong said he won\u2019t treat him any differently and doesn\u2019t expect O\u2019Reilly to treat him any differently either. Strong said \u201cmay the best man win.\u201d O\u2019Reilly said he has to go get ready and asked Cassidy to help him out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) BRIAN CAGE vs. HECHICERO \u2013 Continental Cup tournament match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brian Cage made his entrance as Renee popped up in an inset video to note that Cage is local to the area and won the Nevada state bodybuilding competition. Hechicero\u2019s music played and he made his way to the ring. The bell rang to start the match 28 minutes into the show.<\/p>\n<p>Hechicero took Cage down and hit a knee breaker before Cate tossed him into the corner and hit a combination of chops and forearms. Hechicero dodged Cage in the corner and hit a running shoulder block, but Cage shrugged it off. Hechicero hit Cage with a dropkick to the knee and then planted Cage with a DDT. Hechicero made the cover, but Cage kicked out at one.<\/p>\n<p>Hechicero went for a ruining knee in the corner, but Cage caught him on his shoulders and delivered a Death Valley Driver. Cage hit a running boot on Hechicero in the corner knocking him to the apron. Cage deadlift suplexed Hechicero over the top rope into the ring and flexed as they went to commercial. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Hechicero caught Cage with a sleeper from the apron and then a crucifix lock in the ropes for the five-count. Cage lifted Hechicero up onto the top rope and hit a DDT draped over the top rope. Cage made the cover, but Hechicero kicked out at two. Hechicero countered a pumphandle and rolled into a grounded leg lock. Cage crawled to the ropes to break the hold.<\/p>\n<p>Hechicero hit a running knee in the corner but then charged into a big lariat from Cage. Hechicero took Cage down with the flying guillotine and made the cover, but Cage kicked out at two. Hechicero wrapped Cage up with a crucifix leverage pin and got the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Hechicero in 10:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: Cage looks impressive, and was portrayed as a fan favorite, but received little-to-no reaction. I like Hechicero, and was glad he got the win, but this match didn\u2019t have much going for it. It\u2019s a more pronounced version of the ambivalence you sometimes get from face vs. face matchups, but I suppose you\u2019ll run into those occasionally in a tournament setting.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-They cut to a video of Darby Allin leaning against a train in some dimly lit location. He said he had worried about having to sacrifice everything he stands for to get to the top. He said Sting showed him he didn\u2019t have to change. Darby noted that Kevin Knight had changed. Darby promised not to sneak attack or use explosives on Knight because he wants to beat the best version of Knight at All In. Darby said Knight won\u2019t recognize himself after the match because he\u2019s going to beat him within an inch of his life. Darby laughed, turned away from the camera and said \u201cit\u2019s so scary.\u201d [c]<\/p>\n<p>-The Rascalz were in a small, smoky room where Wentz said they\u2019re riding \u201chigh.\u201d Reed said he\u2019s not rolling, \u2018cause he didn\u2019t win last week. Reed thanked them for setting up a tag match, but Dezmond and Wentz said they didn\u2019t set it up. Reed asked who did, and Lio Rush popped up with an umbrella on his head. Rush said they need friends as The Rascalz walked out of the room leaving Rush to repeat \u201cit\u2019s fine\u201d as he struggled to do the Rascalz\u2019s hand move.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) THE DIVINE DOMINION (Megan Bayne &amp; Lena Kross) vs. RACHELLE RIVETER &amp; MAZZERATI<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Divine Dominion\u2019s music played and they made their way to the ring. Rachelle Riveter and Mazzerati were in the ring waiting. They showed a quick set of replays highlighting the feud between The Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion. The bell rang to start the match 47 minutes into the hour.<\/p>\n<p>Rachelle went for a waistlock on Kross, but Kross easily knocked her to the mat. Rachelle went for a headscissor, but Kross caught her and delivered a side slam. Bayne tagged in joined Kross in delivering running kicks in the corner on Rachelle. Bayne hit a German suplex that launched Rachelle half-way across the ring.<\/p>\n<p>Mazzerati entered but ran into a big clothesline from Bayne. Kross and Bayne set up a double chokeslam on Mazzerati, but Rachelle broke it up. Bayne and Kross hit simultaneous forearms on Rachelle and Mazzerati followed by a pair of stalling vertical suplexes. Kross and Bayne hit Mazzerati with the big Divine Intervention double chokeslam. Kross made the pin for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Divine Dominion in 2:00<\/p>\n<p>-After the match, Hayter and Windsor charged into the ring and knocked Bayne over the top rope with a double clothesline. They hit Kross with a double headbutt before setting the steel stairs up next to the timekeeper\u2019s table. Windsor and Hayter attempted to slam Bayne off the stairs through the table, but Kross made the save and she and Bayne retreated.<\/p>\n<p>-Renee with backstage with Zayda Steel and asked her about taking on Mercedes. Zayda said she\u2019s excited and has been training before Mercedes stepped into frame and asked who Zayda was. Zayda said she\u2019s lost all respect for Mercedes after what she did to Willow. Mercedes knocked Zayda to the floor and said \u201cNice to meet you, bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) NIGEL McGUINNESS vs. KATSUYORI SHIBATA &#8211; Continental Cup tournament match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nigel\u2019s Oasis knock-off music played and Nigel made his way to the ring. They showed an inset video of Nigel saying he\u2019s the underdog, but he told Shibata he\u2019s coming for him. Shibata\u2019s music played and he stepped out to the stage with Hook and Anthony Bowens before entering the ring alone. The bell rang to start the match 53 minutes into the hour.<\/p>\n<p>Shibata offered a handshake. Nigel was skeptical, but they did shake hands. The wrestled to the mat and Shibata worked on Nigel\u2019s ankle. Nigel brought Shibata to the mat with a headlock takeover, but Shibata countered it with a headscissor lock. Nigel escaped with a headstand, but Shibata countered into a pin for a quick one count. Shibata grabbed a wristlock and Nigel struggled to his feet as Shibata transitioned into a hammerlock.<\/p>\n<p>Nigel forced Shibata to the ropes and then gave the ropes a kick, which seemed to upset Shibata. Shibata hit a kick to the gut, took Nigel over with a snapmare and then delivered a kick to the spine. Shibata delivered a big chop to Nigel\u2019s back. Nigel came back with a snapmare that flipped Shibata into the ropes. Nigel delivered a second one as they went to commercial. [c]<\/p>\n<p>They returned from commercial as Nigel stomped on Shibata\u2019s foot. Nigel charged into a pump kick, but Nigel came back with a headbutt to the chest. Shibata caught Nigel with a guillotine and transitioned into a cravat hold. Nigel managed to escape and land a snap suplex. Nigel staggered Shibata with a European uppercut, but Shibata came back with a sleeper hold. Shibata took Nigel to the mat with the sleeper, but Nigel managed to catch Shibata with a leglock of sorts to escape the sleeper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[HOUR TWO]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nigel hit a crosschop to Shibata in the corner, set him onto the top rope and delivered a second one. Nigel went for the Tower of London, but Shibata shoved him off and landed a boot to the face, Shibata grabbed a sleeper to pull Nigel to the mat, released the hold and delivered a kick to the back. Shibata hit the ropes for the penalty kick, but Nigel got his foot up and connected with Shibata\u2019s shin, sending him stumbling to the mat.<\/p>\n<p>Nigel applied an ankle lock but Shibata escaped and rolled Nigel up for a two count. Shibata landed the penalty kick and made the cover, but Nigel kicked out at two. Shibata went for an armbar, but Nigel blocked it and rolled Shibata up for a two count. Nigel mounted Shibata and delivered a few palm strikes before Shibata rolled him over and delivered his own strikes. Shibata locked in another sleeper, but Nigel rolled backwards into the pin on Shibata for the surprise win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Nigel McGuinness in 14:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: An interesting match, especially for those who appreciate the style of match each man is known for. It seems like they\u2019re leaning towards getting Nigel on the show at Wembley again, so the result isn\u2019t a surprise. However, neither man has much momentum and this match, while mostly good, didn\u2019t do much to build any additional momentum.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Renee interviewed Will Ospreay backstage, noting that he had to find a few partners and the Death Riders were obviously out. Ospreay laughed at the idea of Callis continuing to take credit for Omega and Ospreay. He said he had a difficult phone call to make to his friends in Japan. He said he wasn\u2019t sure about Callum, but he said he thought it would be alright. [c]<\/p>\n<p>-A video showed beeping the match between The Young Bucks and Cope &amp; Christian, including sound bites from the competitors over highlights of both teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) THE RASCALZ (Zachary Wentz &amp; Dezmond Xavier &amp; Myron Reed) &amp; LIO RUSH vs. JEAUX BRAXTON &amp; FRESCOMATIC &amp; WATSON &amp; ICE WILLIAMS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lio Rush crawled halfway to the ring to his dark music before the Rascalz\u2019s music played. The jobber team was waiting ringside as The Rascalz and Lio stopped by the pose in front of the commentary desk. Braxton, Frescomatic, Watson, &amp; Ice all refused to enter the ring on a count of Lio Rush\u2019s weirdness. Lio did his cat run into a dive onto all four men at ringside. Lio rolled one of the guys into the ring and the bell rang to start the match 13 minutes into the second hour.<\/p>\n<p>Lio hit a stunner on Braxton and tagged in Dezmond who hit a running strike into the corner. Reed entered with a lungblower on Braxton. Frescomatic entered and caught a trio of strikes from The Rascalz. Lio bit at Watson in the corner as The Rascalz hit Frescomatic with a triple-team slam. Lio bit Watson\u2019s hand as Dezmond, Wentz, and Reed hit a triple superkick<\/p>\n<p>Reed, Dezmond, and Wentz hit simultaneous dives onto Ice, Frescomatic, and Braxton on the outside. Wentz hit a swanton, Reed hit a 450 splash, and Dezmond added a skywister press onto Watson in the ring. The crowd chanted for Lio as he rolled into the ring and locked in an arching headlock submission of some kind, forcing Watson to tap out.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Rascals &amp; Lio Rush in 3:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: Lio Rush and The Rascalz are two different types of jokes, neither of which I find particularly funny. However, all four men deliver in the ring, so I can\u2019t complain too much.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(6) THE HURT SYNDICATE (Bobby Lashley &amp; Shelton Benjamin w\/MVP) &amp; SHANE TAYLOR PROMOTIONS (Shane Taylor &amp; Lee Moriarty w\/Shawn Dean &amp; Carlie Bravo &amp; Trish Adora &amp; Christyan XO) vs. SONIC &amp; JULI MONTANA &amp; RO MONTANA &amp; JAKE REDONDO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Hurt Syndicate\u2019s music played and The Rascalz stepped aside on their way up the ramp to let them through. Shane Taylor Promotions\u2019 music played and the entirety of that group came to the ring. \u00a0Sonico, Juli Montana, Ro Montana &amp; Jake Redondo were somehow already at ringside. The bell rang to start the match 20 minutes into the hour.<\/p>\n<p>Lashley and Shelton knocked the entire opposing team off the apron. Lashley hit a spear on the outside as Shelton caught Sonic with a big German suplex in the ring. Shelton hit the big man, Montana with a German suplex, sending him rolling out of the ring with Lashley adding another spear.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd chanted \u201cwe hurt people\u201d before Lashley and Shelton joined MVP on the ramp and left the match. Shane Taylor looked confused, but Moriarty just hit Redondo with a running kick. Moriarty blasted Sonico with a dive to the outside while Taylor hit a big headbutt on Redondo in the ring. Tayler drilled Redondo with a package piledriver and made the cover for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: \u00a0The Hurt Syndicate &amp; Shane Taylor Promotions in 2:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: I\u2019m all for squash matches, but back-to-back eight-man tag squash matches is something different altogether. It only makes sense if Tony is planning on introducing eight-man tag titles, or quad titles, I suppose. The highlight was seeing eight separate jobbers with an array of ridiculous ring names and having no idea which was which. They do seem to be working out a feud between Shane Taylor Promotions and The Hurt Syndicate, but that doesn\u2019t seem like a particularly wise use of TV time.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Tomasso Ciampa was backstage. He said all roads lead to Wembley, and the Casino Gauntlet is the biggest in the history. He said the winner gets a shot at the title that lets the world know you\u2019re the very best in history. Ciampa told Andrade and MJF that they better pray there isn\u2019t a number three in the match.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(7) ZAYDA STEELE (w\/Christopher Daniels) vs. MERCEDES MONE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zayda Steele\u2019s music played and she made her entrance accompanied by Christopher Daniels. Mercedes made her entrance as the crowd chanted \u201cCEO.\u201d The bell rang to start match 26 minutes into the hour.<\/p>\n<p>Zayda dodged Mercedes in the corner and hit a pair of forearms. Mercedes looked surprised and Zayda rolled her up for a quick two-count. Zayda landed a springboard arm drag and a springboard headlock takeover. Zayda went for the pin, but Mercedes kicked out at two.<\/p>\n<p>Zayda hit a lick in the ropes and delivered a lungblower. Zayda made the cover, but Mercedes kicked out at two. Zayda went for a running headscissor, but Mercedes caught her and popped Zayda up into a tombstone lungblower. Mercedes mounted Zayda and pummeled her into the mat.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes took Zayda over with a snapmare and locked in a reverse chinlock. Zayda elbowed her way out of the hold and got a roll-up for quick two. Mercedes connected with a dropkick as they went to commercial. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from break, Zayda struggled but escaped a straight jacket hold with a jawbreaker. Zayda hit Mercedes with a Thesz press followed by a flurry of punches. Zyda blocked a punch and hit a few of her own. Zayda hit a running crossbody in the corner and climbed to the top rope. Zayda landed a crossbody from the top rope into a pin, but Mercedes kicked out at two.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Daniels pounded the mat to get the crowd behind Zayda, but instead they chanted \u201cCEO\u201d to the beat. Mercedes caught Zayda with a backstabber and then delivered the Money Maker. Mercedes transitioned directly into the Statement Maker. Mercedes fishhooked Zayda, forcing her to smile to mock Willow, and Zayda tapped out.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Mercedes Mone in 8:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: The very young and green Zayda Steele looked mostly good against the veteran in Mercedes Mone. Mercedes gave Zayda a lot and wrestled as a heel, but the crowd still got behind her, presumably based on star power, presence, and performance. Fine match, but mostly a setup for Willow to come out.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-After the match, Daniels checked on Zayda in the ring and Mercedes hit him from behind with the Owen Hart tournament belt. Mercedes continued to whip Daniels with the belt and then hit Zayda repeatedly as well. Willow\u2019s music played and Willow charged the ring as Mercedes ducked out and retreated. Willow grabbed a microphone and said if she wants her so bad, they can fight right now. Willow said Mercedes knows she can beat her. Mercedes hopped on the apron but then left through the crowd. Willow told Mercedes \u201cI\u2019m still smiling, bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-Jack Perry was backstage after Dynamite, bleeding. He thanked Moxley for showing him what it will take to get there. He said iron sharpens iron and he needs to face everyone who has been on that level. He mentioned Samoa Joe, Hangman, and Kenny Omega. He looked offscreen and said \u201cyou.\u201d Perry walked over to Swerve, who said that he\u2019s beaten all the people Perry just mentioned. Swerve said Perry isn\u2019t quite ready to walk among killers. Perry looked at the blood on his hand and said he thinks he is. Swerve told Perry to be careful. [c]<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: Perry\u2019s face was caked in blood, like more than I recall from his match with Moxley. Maybe he bladed again for the promo? Either way, decent promo from Perry, a bit of a mission statement and the short confrontation with Swerve seems like a good avenue for Perry to move forward.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-They showed a video highlighting the build to Ospreay and Omega.<\/p>\n<p>-Kenny Omega was backstage, calling The Don Callis the \u201ccrap stain on the underpants\u201d of his life. He said he doesn\u2019t like Callis and he doesn\u2019t like bullies. He challenged any three members of the family to a six-man match as the camera zoomed up to reveal the Young Bucks standing with Omega. Matt said they always have Kenny\u2019s back. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage came from behind and Christian asked what happened last week in Mexico. Copeland asked why they\u2019re in a trios match and getting distracted when they have the match in Wembley. They argued over the miscommunications from their tag match. Matt noted that they\u2019re old enough to be their fathers. Christian chimed in with \u201cwho said I\u2019m not?\u201d \u00a0He told Copeland to let him know when he\u2019s done trusting them and walked off. As Copeland left, Nick said, completely seriously, \u201che\u2019s not our father.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: Kenny\u2019s promo was at least short, but far below some of his other recent work. Maybe the phrase \u201ccrap stain\u201d shouldn\u2019t be in world champion\u2019s lexicon. The Copeland &amp; Cage and Young Bucks portion was fine, with Christian delivering the line of the night.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(8) KYLE O\u2019REILLY vs. RODERICK STRONG \u2013 Continental Cup tournament match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kyle O\u2019Reilly\u2019s music played and he made his way to the ring. Renee appeared on video to say she asked Willow who she would pick to win this match, to which Willow said she\u2019s have chosen O\u2019Reilly a year ago, but now Strong has become such a part of the crew, she just hopes everyone has a nice time. Roderick Strong\u2019s music played and he made his entrance. The bell rang to start the match 46 minutes into the hour.<\/p>\n<p>Strong hit a pair of chops and Kyle shot back with a roundhouse. They wrestled to the mat where Strong grabbed the rope break it up. Kyle took Strong to the mat with a snapmare into a grounded abdominal stretch as Schiavone said that Nigel had suffered an injury in his match earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Strong fought out of the hold but Kyle brought him down with a leg sweep. Kyle landed a snapmare followed by a kick to the back. Strong came back with a backbreaker. Strong chopped Kyle in the corner and delivered a snap suplex. Strong floated over into the pin, but Klye kicked out at two. Kyle went for a running knee strike, but Strong dumped him over the top rope.<\/p>\n<p>Strong went for a wrecking gall dropkick through the ropes, but Kyle caught him by the ankle. Strong kicked out of it and went for the dropkick again, but Kyle dodged it and hopped onto the apron. Kyle went for the flying knee from the apron, but Strong sidestepped him and slammed Kyle back-first across the barricade as they went to commercial. [c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from break, Strong charged into a boot and Kyle followed up with a flying knee. Strong came back with a backbreaker and went for the pin, but Kyle kicked out at two. Strong delivered a big chop in the corner and set up for a suplex, but Kyle countered out of it and landed a knee to the gut of Strong.<\/p>\n<p>Strong and Kyle traded chops and kicks until Kyle caught a guillotine into a triangle lock. Strong tried to roll Kyle into a pin, but Kyle transitioned into an ankle lock. Strong immediately grabbed the ropes and pulled himself out of the ring. Kyle hit a flying knee from the apron and rolled Strong back into the ring.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle climbed to the top rope, but Strong met him with a running kick. Strong lifted Kyle up and dropped him back-first across the top turnbuckle. Strong made the weak cover, but Kyle kicked out. They traded forearms briefly until Kyle hit a running clothesline. Kyle hit a suplex into the pin for two.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle tried to an armbar, but Strong blocked it. Strong rolled Kyle into a pin to break the hold. Kyle hit a rolling elbow and Strong fired back with a jumping knee that left both men down. Strong rolled into a pin attempt, but Kyle kicked out at two. They returned to trading forearms. Strong went for a backbreaker, but Kyle countered it into a standing switch. They traded counters to grapples repeatedly until Kyle caught Strong with a sudden roll-up for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Kyle O\u2019Reilly in 13:00<\/p>\n<p><em>(White\u2019s Take: Two friends and pros delivered a very good match in the main event. They told a simple story of two competitors who know each other inside and out. So there was no shortage of counters, and even the finish was a counter-of-a-counter-of-a-counter. The story also was about two friends who weren\u2019t taking each other lightly, leading to crisp action and stiff strikes. Overall a good match with a result that matters\u2026for a week anyway.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After the match, Kyle offered a hug, but Strong shoved him to the mat instead. Strong immediately helped him up and they hugged. They showed the participants in the quarterfinal of the tournament before Kyle and Cassidy exchanged a few words on the ramp. Strong dragged them both to the back as Schiavone wished everyone a good night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINAL THOUGHTS:<\/strong> A good episode of Collision graded on the Collision curve. An exciting multi-man opener and a very good match in the main event made bookended a night of solid in-ring action. Mercedes added a solid women\u2019s match in the middle, but much of the intrigue of the evening was outside of the ring. Omega and Ospreay weren\u2019t amazing in their segments, but forwarding their interwoven storylines and setting up matches for Dynamite is a nice addition to the show. The Young Bucks and Copeland &amp; Christian had a short but fun exchange, Darby had a good promo, Willow called out Mercedes in the ring and even Jack Perry delivered in his quick backstage segment with Swerve. They even had promo segments and videos building almost every match of the night.
