Most of the hype is over. With the PPV back at Wembley Stadium, AEW is anticipating somewhere in the neighborhood of 45,000 fans. It&#8217;ll be around the attendance of the 2024 version, maybe a bit more, though well short of the first Wembley show in 2023. Bottom line: It&#8217;ll be a healthy gate for AEW.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/post\/2016\/09\/Staff09ParksC_120_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-31220 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/post\/2016\/09\/Staff09ParksC_120_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"138\" \/><\/a>With all of that said, below are the rankings of the nine matches in order of most to least anticipated for Sunday&#8217;s show, based on my own personal interest as well as the work AEW has done in the build-up for each of the individual bouts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay:<\/strong> As much as there are &#8220;passing of the torch&#8221; moments in wrestling, this feels like one of them. Omega, the old, broken-down gunslinger, will use every trick in the book to try to keep the title away from Ospreay, who will not only attempt to become AEW Champion, but to unseat Omega as one of the faces of AEW.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) Divine Dominion vs. The Brawling Birds:<\/strong> Dominion has been unstoppable on their path to, and then as, AEW Women&#8217;s Tag Team Champions. The Birds seem like the right (the only?) team to end their dominating ways, and doing it in England, where Alex Windsor &amp; Jamie Hayter are from, is an added bonus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone:<\/strong> Talk about a contrast in characters. Mone has been on the attack at every opportunity, which one would think leads to Nightingale retaining. However, when this match was set up, it seemed to be a vehicle for Mone to win the belt. That creates some genuine interest in who is going to walk out of Wembley as champion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) &#8220;Hangman&#8221; Adam Page &amp; Brodido vs. The Field:<\/strong> We don&#8217;t know how many trios teams will be in this match, or even which ones will necessarily appear. What we do know is that Swerve Strickland has teased finding partners for this match, partners that are expected to be the former New Day. It feels a little too early after the Takeshita babyface turn to be teasing dissension between Fletcher and Okada, though.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-4210731431\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><strong>(6) Adam Copeland &amp; Christian Cage vs. The Young Bucks:<\/strong> A vanilla build for a match that, in some ways, sells itself as a generational battle. Copeland *&amp; Cage haven&#8217;t quite set the world on fire with their matches since their return, though they should be extra motivated for this one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(7) Jon Moxley vs. Nigel McGuinness:<\/strong> McGuinness reaching this point, in England, with the injuries that he has battled in this tournament is a fun story. We&#8217;ve seen a similar story before though with McGuinness in AEW, and yet another Continental Title tournament isn&#8217;t exactly inspiring booking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(8) Men&#8217;s Casino Gauntlet:<\/strong> The Gauntlets have been hit or miss lately; when they hit, though, it&#8217;s at a high level. This feels like the old WrestleMania &#8220;get as many major names on the card&#8221; type of match. The main players of interest are clearly MJF and Andrade, which tends to render anyone else here moot. I&#8217;d rather see MJF vs. Andrade in a singles match.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(9) Darby Allin vs. Kevin Knight:<\/strong> At some point, the Darby Allin Freakshow Wrestling wears thin.
