After attending Wembley Stadium in 2024 and All In Texas last year, I made the trip back across the pond for AEW&#8217;s return to Wembley.<\/p>\n<p>This was my second time walking into Wembley for All In, and I&#8217;m not sure seeing a wrestling show in that building will ever feel normal. I&#8217;ve now experienced All In twice in London and once in Texas, and each show has had its own identity. By the time I left Wembley on Sunday night, though, I felt like I had just watched AEW put together its most complete pay-per-view yet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE PRESENTATION &amp; ATMOSPHERE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The atmosphere at Wembley was pretty much what you would expect. The crowd was great and electric at times, but what stood out to me was how the audience never seemed to drag or get tired. There was some light rain throughout the night, but overall the weather provided perfect conditions for a wrestling show.<\/p>\n<p>From my standpoint, I also never heard anyone around me complain that a match went too long or wonder when something was going to end. That&#8217;s not always easy to accomplish during a show this long.<\/p>\n<p>People will argue about where this ranks among the best AEW pay-per-views ever from a pure wrestling standpoint. But fundamentally, from the card&#8217;s pacing to the video packages, match placement, and overall timing, I thought this was probably the best PPV Tony Khan has managed in AEW&#8217;s history thus far.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE PRE-SHOW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t particularly high on the pre-show, and judging by the PWTorch Roundtable afterward, I wasn&#8217;t alone. For the most part, it felt like background noise \u2014 the kind of wrestling you could have on while doing chores around the house without worrying that you missed much.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3341117823\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The obvious exception was the return of Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Baker appeared during the TBS Title match and helped Persephone defeat Maya World before revealing herself. According to Fightful, Baker&#8217;s return came together very late. She didn&#8217;t travel to London with the AEW roster and reportedly didn&#8217;t arrive until Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Wembley was the right stage to bring her back, and it immediately created questions about where she fits into a women&#8217;s division that looks considerably different from the last time she was around. Her return also became part of the conversation later in the night when I asked Jamie Hayter about the possibility of the two finally getting the opportunity to tell their story together.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>MATCH RESULTS &amp; ANALYSIS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) HANGMAN ADAM PAGE &amp; BRODIDO (Bandido &amp; Brody King) (c) vs. BANG BANG GANG (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn &amp; Jay White) vs. DEATH RIDERS (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC &amp; Wheeler Yuta) vs. THE CONGLOMERATION (Kyle O&#8217;Reilly, Orange Cassidy &amp; Roderick Strong) vs. THE DEMAND (Bishop Kaun, Ricochet &amp; Toa Liona) vs. THE DOGS (Clark Connors, David Finlay &amp; Gabe Kidd) vs. SWERVE STRICKLAND &amp; THE NEW LEVEL (Austin Creed &amp; Kofi) (w\/Prince Nana) \u2013 AEW World Trios Title Trios Roulette Royale Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Swerve Strickland &amp; The New Level in 39:04 to win the AEW World Trios Titles.<\/p>\n<p>Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: The match bleeding over from the Buy-In into the main card was expected, and ultimately this was all about the debut of The New Level. Kofi and Austin Creed arrived with a new name and &#8220;New Level&#8221; by A$AP Ferg as their music, which immediately made the presentation feel like a big deal. Crowning The New Level and Swerve as Trios Champions was the easy call and clears the way for a potential feud with The Elite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) DIVINE DOMINION (Lena Kross &amp; Megan Bayne) (c) vs. THE BRAWLING BIRDS (Alex Windsor &amp; Jamie Hayter) \u2013 AEW Women&#8217;s World Tag Team Title Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Brawling Birds in 11:40 to win the AEW Women&#8217;s World Tag Team Titles.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-359523340\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: This was really stiff, and all four women have great chemistry together. In person, I was extremely disappointed with how many fans treated this match as their bathroom break. Hopefully, AEW continues to build the women&#8217;s tag division and gives the audience more reasons to become invested in these teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) JON MOXLEY (c) vs. NIGEL MCGUINNESS \u2013 AEW Continental Title Continental Challenge Cup Final<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jon Moxley in 17:12 to retain the AEW Continental Title.<\/p>\n<p>Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: Per reports, Nigel McGuinness legitimately injured his foot during the tournament, and AEW did a great job making it part of the story. This match didn&#8217;t overstay its welcome. The overall Death Riders storyline can still be puzzling at times, but you can&#8217;t deny Jon Moxley&#8217;s talent in the ring. The final hope spot, with Nigel desperately trying to reach the ropes before tapping out just short of them, was perfect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) KYLE FLETCHER (c) vs. KAZUCHIKA OKADA vs. KONOSUKE TAKESHITA \u2013 AEW International Title Three-Way Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Kazuchika Okada in 13:13 to win the AEW International Title.<\/p>\n<p>Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: I&#8217;ve seen people say they wanted this match to go longer, but I thought 13 minutes was perfect. This was an absolute sprint in the best possible sense \u2014 no flab or filler, all killer. Takeshita&#8217;s German suplex spot involving Fletcher and Okada was incredible. The finish worked for me, too. Fletcher hit Takeshita with the turnbuckle brainbuster and looked to have the match won, only for Okada to swoop in, hit Fletcher with the Rainmaker, and steal the win and the title.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) AEW WORLD TITLE NO. 1 CONTENDERSHIP CASINO GAUNTLET MATCH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Andrade El Idolo in 21:06.<\/p>\n<p>Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: This was the polar opposite of last year&#8217;s men&#8217;s Casino Gauntlet. The tweak to the format, with no set time intervals for each new entrant, created the kind of urgent chaos this match desperately needed. I also liked the finish. MJF turned on Nick Wayne with a low blow and Heat Seeker, only for Andrade to take out MJF and steal the pin on Wayne. Andrade winning was a nice surprise and gives AEW a fresh World Title challenger.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(6) CAGE AND COPE (Adam Copeland &amp; Christian Cage) (c) vs. THE YOUNG BUCKS (Matt Jackson &amp; Nick Jackson) \u2013 AEW World Tag Team Title Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Christian &amp; Copeland in 20:06 to retain the AEW World Tag Team Titles.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: I was honestly shocked by the result because I was convinced the Young Bucks were winning the titles. Christian cheating behind Copeland&#8217;s back was an interesting wrinkle and gives AEW something to play with between the champions moving forward. <\/em><em>The bigger story, though, was the post-match scene. Motor City Machine Guns, FTR, The Young Bucks, and The New Level all surrounded Christian &amp; Copeland. Seeing that collection of teams together was a great visual and really drove home just how ridiculously deep AEW&#8217;s tag team division is right now. It&#8217;s quite the difference from where I thought this division was two years ago at Wembley, when I came away frustrated with its lack of direction.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(7) KEVIN KNIGHT (c) vs. DARBY ALLIN \u2013 AEW TNT Title Falls Count Anywhere Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Darby Allin in 15:48 to win the AEW TNT Title.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Brian&#8217;s Thoughts: Even if you&#8217;re not into plunder, this worked because it was the only match on the card that really strayed outside the ring. Darby&#8217;s Coffin Drop off the lighting rig and through the staging was one of the craziest visuals of the night. Darby winning wasn&#8217;t shocking, but the match served its purpose and gave the show something completely different.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sting and his son Steven Borden climbing the ladder together was another great visual. At this point, if you&#8217;re wrestling Darby at Wembley, assume Sting is the Phantom of the Opera of Wembley, and he&#8217;s somewhere in the building waiting to show up.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>(8) WILLOW NIGHTINGALE (c) vs. MERCEDES MON\u00c9 \u2013 AEW Women&#8217;s World Title Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Mercedes Mon\u00e9 in 21:52 to win the AEW Women&#8217;s World Title.<\/p>\n<p>My word, this had everything. Willow and Mercedes beat the absolute hell out of each other, and Mercedes getting busted open added an incredible visual to an already physical match. I&#8217;ve seen Mercedes have great matches at All In before, but this felt different. It had an edge and physicality that made it feel like both women were fighting for something, not just having a great wrestling match. I loved how they paid off Willow saying Mercedes wasn&#8217;t taking her title or her smile. Mercedes fish-hooking Willow&#8217;s mouth while locking in the Statement Maker was a nasty visual. Mercedes had to take the smile, the title, and ultimately put Willow out to finally beat her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(9) KENNY OMEGA (c) vs. WILL OSPREAY \u2013 AEW World Title Match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Will Ospreay in 34:25 to win the AEW World Title.<\/p>\n<p>Before either man even made his entrance, AEW produced what I thought was one of the best video packages the company has ever done. Will Ospreay&#8217;s mother provided the voiceover as &#8220;Baba O&#8217;Riley&#8221; by The Who played underneath it.<\/p>\n<p>What followed made the presentation even better. Ospreay essentially walked through his own wrestling history on his way to Wembley. He passed Zack Sabre Jr., Michael Oku, Ricochet, Swerve Strickland, Mark Davis, and Kyle Fletcher before reaching his wife, Alex Windsor. Finally, Jon Moxley was waiting near the curtain and handed Ospreay a U.K.-themed flag before sending him toward the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Ospreay later explained during the post-show media scrum that the idea was for him to walk past &#8220;all the people that made me.&#8221; He talked about Sabre being the first mountain he climbed in British wrestling, Oku representing his final British independent match, and Ricochet representing their history together in the Best of the Super Juniors.<\/p>\n<p>That explanation made me appreciate the entrance even more. Watching it unfold felt almost like the final act of a superhero story. Ospreay walked past friends, former partners, and old rivals who helped shape different parts of his career, then stepped through the curtain by himself.<\/p>\n<p>Omega&#8217;s presentation deserves just as much credit. Other members of the media and I have talked before about how Omega can sometimes come across as aloof. This was the polar opposite. From his video package to his entrance, Omega looked and felt like a big-time world champion.<\/p>\n<p>Omega also leaned into his love of anime with a My Hero Academia-inspired presentation. Kenta Miyake, the Japanese voice actor for All Might, provided narration, while Omega&#8217;s gear paid tribute to All Might. The entire presentation looked fantastic and made Omega feel every bit as important as Ospreay before the bell even rang.<\/p>\n<p>The match itself went nearly 35 minutes, but sitting inside Wembley, it felt closer to 15 or 20. When a match goes that long, and I still wanted more when it was over, that tells me the pacing did exactly what it was supposed to do. Nothing felt rushed, but nothing dragged, either.<\/p>\n<p>Then came the One-Winged Angel.<\/p>\n<p>There will be other great nearfalls and moments that wrestling tries to recreate, but few will replicate what this one felt like inside Wembley. Part of that comes from the magnitude of the match, but even more of it comes from how protected the One-Winged Angel has been throughout Omega&#8217;s career. When Ospreay kicked out, the building literally exploded.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s one of those reactions I&#8217;m not sure television can completely capture. You could feel it inside Wembley.<\/p>\n<p>Ospreay eventually hit one final Hidden Blade and got the three-count. That&#8217;s when the Messi comparison really hit me.<\/p>\n<p>I mentioned this to some friends afterward, but I remember seeing Lionel Messi play in person for the first time and watching small children cry just from seeing their hero. That&#8217;s what Wembley felt like when Ospreay won. Small children around me cried as they watched their hometown hero finally become World Champion.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been fortunate enough to see some incredible moments at Wembley, including Bryan Danielson winning the World Title two years ago. This felt different. It wasn&#8217;t just people celebrating a title change. You could see what Ospreay meant to the people around me.<\/p>\n<p>For all the moves, nearfalls, video packages, and spectacle that came before it, what I&#8217;ll probably remember most is looking around Wembley and seeing those kids crying. They got to watch their hero win.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>MEDIA SCRUM NOTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vibes coming out of the show and into the media scrum were, to borrow a phrase from Jalen Brunson, immaculate. Something about the entire room just felt different. You could almost feel the vibration of happiness. I&#8217;ve attended several Tony Khan media scrums and press conferences, and I don&#8217;t know if I&#8217;ve ever been in one where Tony, the wrestlers, and the media seemed so genuinely satisfied with how the night had gone.<\/p>\n<p>I was able to speak with both Mercedes Mon\u00e9 and Jamie Hayter during the scrum.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes came across as particularly genuine and emotional. There were still elements of her character in some of her answers, but this felt much more like Mercedes speaking from the heart after what she had just accomplished.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes confirmed that Willow Nightingale broke her nose early in the match and that she needed stitches afterward. She said she hadn&#8217;t really had an opportunity to process becoming AEW Women&#8217;s World Champion because she went directly to the doctor after the match.<\/p>\n<p>I asked Mercedes what she ultimately wants her legacy in professional wrestling to be. She said her goal remains to change the game for women&#8217;s wrestling.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want people to love and care about women&#8217;s wrestling because we work just as hard as the men and harder. Legit harder,&#8221; Mon\u00e9 said. &#8220;I&#8217;m just here to change the game and to let people know that we&#8217;re here to stay.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I also had the opportunity to speak with Jamie Hayter and asked about Britt Baker&#8217;s return and whether she&#8217;d be interested in finally getting the opportunity to tell that story with her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been such a long time since me and Britt have interacted, been in the same room, been in the same ring together,&#8221; Hayter said. &#8220;I just don&#8217;t know what would happen. Are we gonna be cool? Are we gonna fight? What is it gonna be?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hayter also called Baker&#8217;s return a special moment and compared the stage for Baker&#8217;s comeback to her own return at Wembley. She said she was interested to see what Baker does with Persephone, especially with Hayter and Alex Windsor now holding the Women&#8217;s Tag Team Titles.<\/p>\n<p>There were several other notable items from the scrum.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Khan was asked by Post Wrestling&#8217;s John Pollock about the business for the show and said AEW was looking at a gate around $6 million with attendance &#8220;close to 50,000.&#8221; Khan didn&#8217;t reveal where All In will take place in 2027, but said AEW would &#8220;definitely&#8221; return to Wembley Stadium if given the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Khan also discussed the arrival of The New Level and said bringing in Kofi and Austin Creed wasn&#8217;t something AEW had originally planned or budgeted for. Once they became available, however, Khan felt they were a natural fit for AEW.<\/p>\n<p>Will Ospreay was understandably emotional after winning the World Title. He described his entrance as walking past &#8220;all the people that made me,&#8221; and spoke about the pressure he had placed on himself heading into Wembley.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINAL THOUGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People will debate whether this was the greatest AEW PPV ever from a pure wrestling standpoint. I wouldn&#8217;t go that far. What I do think is that this was the best-managed AEW PPV I&#8217;ve attended.<\/p>\n<p>The show never felt like it was fighting against its own length. Matches had a purpose, the video packages mattered, the card placement made sense, and Wembley never seemed to run out of energy. I&#8217;ve been critical of AEW in the past when its PPVs have felt too long or overloaded. I didn&#8217;t have that feeling on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve now attended All In three times, twice at Wembley and once in Texas, and all three have given me something different. This year felt like AEW took everything it learned from those stadium shows and put together its most complete version of All In yet.<\/p>\n<p>And ultimately, I&#8217;ll remember the kids around me crying when Will Ospreay won the World Title. Wrestling can get complicated with all the things we argue about and analyze.
