Orton said it takes a lot to put down a legend, which he can verify since he systematically took down legends himself. Orton claimed that Cody was no killer, but Orton is and that he will pull the trigger on anyone who comes between him and his 15th world championship. Fenix exploded out of the gate by showing off his speed with hurricanrana, top-rope assisted deep armdrag and a dropkick. Saints executed an armdrag himself and posed, much to the crowd’s disgust. Renix responded with another hurricanrana. He said he took Baron Corbin’s head and smacked a few times (mimicking it on the ball) and then said he kicked his ass all over the ring. Trick punted the ball into the crowd. He called out his boy that allowed him to get his title shot, Lil Yachty. Yachty didn’t come out.

Trick said that Yachty was such a diva that he had to announce him the right way. He asked for a drum roll. The crowd obliged. Corbin yelled that they weren’t done yet. The crowd called him a mean name in Spanish.

– Finn Balor told Nick Aldis in his office that he didn’t envy his job. Balor said that he was ready for whoever won the title match tonight. Danhausen was wiping down a TV monitor in the background. Aldis told Balor to concentrate on the Money-in-the-Bank match. Danhausen interrupted and asked if he heard him say something about the human monies in the bank. Aldis said he’d explain another time, so Danhausen left. Balor was intrigued by the money-in-the-bank mention. Gunther barged in and Aldis was annoyed by it. Gunther told Balor that he peaked ten years ago and that perhaps it would take someone beating some sense into him. Gunther started to leave as Balor called him a whiny b*tch. Gunther heard him and returned only to have Balor drop him with a forearm. Balor and Aldis left. Gunther got up. Green dove through the ropes but Jax caught her and sent her flying over the Spanish announced desk. Jax did a “U.S.A.” chant which was not appreciated by anyone. Back in the ring, Jax toyed with her prey as Green through ineffective strikes to Jax’s bread basket. Green dodged a corner splash and hit a step up enziguri, then hit a poor looking missile dropkick that drove Jax to the floor. Jax pulled Green down and launched her into the barricade. Cole speculated that he was sad to say that Green’s first title defense might be her last. Jax rolled Green back into the ring.

Jax rammed Green’s head into two different turnbuckles. Green tried to fight back at the third but Jax hit a sit-down uranage and a senton splash. Jax hooked the leg for a two-count. Barrett said that splash crushed Green’s sternum. Jax attempted to choked Green out while sitting on the top rope. Green gave her a rocket launcher off the top as Stratton tried to rally her friend. Green hit a hurricanrana and double knees to a draped Jax. Jax caught her with a Samon drop but again only earned a nearfall. Jax ripped the protective mask off Green’s face and chucked her to the floor.

Legend went to strike the unprotected face of Green, but Stratton pushed her out of the way and took the full force of Legend’s blow instead. Green pushed Legend into the post and got back in the ring, only to get dropped by Jax right in the corner. Jax climbed up and went for the Oblivion. Green moved out of the way and put her mask back on. Green dropped Jax face-first across the top rope then climbed to the top. He said that sometimes you have to reward bad behavior so it can be taught a lesson. Punk said that guys like Zayn and Owens were part of the problem. Punk said he didn’t come to Mexico City, where some of the greatest pro wrestling fans in the world reside, to lose to a guy who broke his hand “jerking it to his nine-day fluke title win”, then you’ve got another thing coming. Priest continued to lay it in with corner splashes and a flapjack that earned a two-count on Ivar. Priest called for the big lariat that got the crowd into it. Erik pulled Ivar to the floor. Priest took out both Raiders on the floor. [c]

Truth was doing the Cena move set after the break. Truth wasn’t able to AA Ivar at first but used momentum off the ropes to hit it. He covered but Erik broke it up. Punk tried to fight back with punches and a swinging neckbreaker. Punk started attacking Zayn’s broken left hand. Punk erupted out of the corner with a clothesline and hit the Go to Sleep but immediately grabbed at his knee. By the time he was able to make the cover, Zayn had enough time to recover and kick out at a two-count. Punk called for another Go to Sleep.

Johnny Gargano ran down to ringside and distracted Punk. Zayn rolled him up from behind for a nearfall. Zayn locked in the figure four again. Punk escaped and locked in the Anaconda Vise but Candice LeRae was on the apron distracting the referee. Zayn was tapping. Punk let go and tried to get the referee to do his job. Gargano got in the ring and Punk gave him a Go to Sleep, then fell to the mat clutching his knee again. The referee tried to get Gargano out of the ring. Kevin Owens ran into the ring and prevented Sami Zayn from grabbing the belt to use against Punk.
