AT VIKING HALL<br \/>\nREPORT BY TIM WHITEHEAD, PWTORCH CORRESPONDENT<\/h3>\n<p><em>Estimated attendance: 800\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>(1) P.N. NEWS pinned ZAN PANZER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Panzer was introduced as being from &#8220;the continent of Europe&#8221; (I think he should be announced from, &#8220;anywhere he wants to be, as long as it&#8217;s in Europe&#8221;). Then, News came out and gave us a Suplexes on concrete, the elbow to the floor, and my favorite, DUSTY THE BUPPET [sic] made some pretty impressive moves for his size, winning with a big splash off the top rope. {*}<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) THOMAS RICH defeated MIKE GRAHAM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A good match. Both wrestlers made a lot of fast moves with plenty of old-style scientific wrestling. Rich won by using the ropes behind the ref&#8217;s back. [***]<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) THE PATRIOTS beat THE FREEBIRDS by DQ<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Basically, a comedy act, but it was not all that funny since Hayes &amp; Garvin do the same routine every match. They prance, they preen, they repeatedly stall by claiming their hair or trunks have been pulled. As for the Patriots, Curtis Thompson looked awfully silly coming out in a fireman&#8217;s outfit (for a minute, I thought Barney Fife had joined the fire department). Todd Champion spent very little time in the ring, which may have been a blessing.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-2863704973\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The Patriots may not be back to this area since I heard a rumor that the Tennessee legislature is considering a bill that requires pro wrestlers to have some wrestling talent. Actually, this was a very good match, with plenty of brawling and some great bumps. Harley Race interfered whenever convenient. At one point, Windham sailed across the ropes and landed on the timekeeper&#8217;s table, breaking it in half and juicing as well.<\/p>\n<p>Finish came when Mr. Hughes distracted the referee. Race posted Windham and then tossed him back in for the champ to pin. {***1\/2}<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) BOBBY EATON beat THOMAS RICH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bobby did none of his aerial moves, so this one was boring. Rich tried to use the ropes or a pin as he had done earlier against Graham, but the ref caught him. Then, Eaton used the ropes to pin Rich in a Poetic Justice ending.<\/p>\n<p>Poetic Justice for WCW would be if 20,000 fans promised to buy tickets to the arena if WCW scheduled a pay-per-view in their town and only 37 followed through on their promise. {DUD}<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3724872226\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><strong>(6) DUSTIN RHODES &amp; TOM ZENK beat THE FREEBIRDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hayes &amp; Garvin did the same routine as in their previous match. Boy Wonder &amp; The Z-Man were the victors. {-1\/2*}<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINAL THOUGHTS:<\/strong> This card followed the lackluster Great American Bash in Johnson City a few weeks ago. Why WCW continues to operate in this manner is a bigger mystery than the origin of those crop circles in British cornfields. There were an incredible eight no-shows. Nine, if you count Lady Blossom. Steve Austin, Brian Pillman, Johnny B.
