KYLE FLETCHER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of course, they killed it. Well, they nearly killed each other, but what a bunch of crazy moves and spots in this one. I can imagine backstage, both of them discussing the match and saying, &#8220;Why don&#8217;t you drop me on my head on an exposed turnbuckle and then I&#8217;ll fling myself outside the ring?&#8230;. Why don&#8217;t I flip three times and land on the announce table face first?&#8230;. Why don&#8217;t I leap from the ring to crossbody you through a table? Will it break, who cares?!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This was a match filled with eye opening spots that got the crowd on its feet, and then some ridiculous near-falls that had them on the edge of their seats. This was a match perfect for a special show in another country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WILL OSPREAY VS. KAZUCHIKA OKADA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Man, do I love European crowds. They were good most of the show, but watching the fans sing, chant and jump up and down during the main event is just special stuff. I get the biggest grin on my face watching them have so much fun and it remains a goal of mine to be in attendance for an international show.<\/p>\n<p>That said, this was a great match between Ospreay and Okada. It wasn&#8217;t a pay-per-view classic, but for a television main event, it was satisfying. Ospreay is really coming into his own as a babyface champion. He knows when to hype up the crowd to get the best response and it never seems like he is asking or begging for support when he does it. Okada has come a long way when it comes to American television heel work. He also played to the crowd well and he is easy to dislike despite his pedigree.<\/p>\n<p>They left enough on the table for a future PPV main event and it brought the Dynamite version of Grand Slam to a strong conclusion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUICK HITS<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-719844551\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>&#8211; Kofi vs. Bandido was a fun opener. However, there was a little too much dancing and silliness early in this one for my taste. The match was for a championship and you would think they&#8217;d take it a little more seriously. Once it got going, it was very entertaining and I enjoyed the delayed entrances of Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page to further the reignition of their feud. Bandido winning was the right call.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; It was very smart to have Renee Paquette narrate the rules for the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream. When the rules fill up an entire screen, having it clearly explained via video package should help viewers understand it better. Plus, they can post that video package online if anyone needs a refresher.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I absolutely LOVED the reaction Samoa Joe got after he walked away from Jack Perry&#8217;s moonsault off the top rope. Joe is universally loved!<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Hearing the crowd count in many of the matches brought me back to 7th grade French class. Madame Arsenault was tough!<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Mercedes Mone vs. Queen Aminata was a solid match. I thought the Queen was smart to speak in French to the crowd before coming out. That established her as the babyface and most of the crowd was behind her during the match. They did a good job getting the best out of each other, though I say it each time I see the Queen wrestle, I&#8217;d love to see her eliminate the &#8220;chocolate kisses&#8221; spot. It&#8217;s too &#8220;sports entertainy&#8221; to me. This guy is very distinct and someone I feel can be a difference maker. He proved it in Japan last year in his feud with Kenny Omega and having him lose clean time after time won&#8217;t help if or when you finally decide to go with him. If they wanted to give Mark Davis a Continental Title shot against Jon Moxley at Wrestledream, I think there were better ways to do it.
