They went to Joseph and Graves at ringside. (No reference by Joseph regarding why he was filling in for the usual Michael Cole.) Sami asked Sacramento, Calif. He said all of the vultures circling over him in recent weeks got what they deserved. He said at Money in the Bank, Trick Williams came up short. He said CM Punk and Kevin Owens came up short, just I predicted. He said he wouldn’t mention CM Punk. He told Penta to focus his energy on Roman Reigns. He said he understands he has a personal issue with Reigns and he should focus on that.

He said in a few weeks, he’ll be facing Reigns at Crown Jewel. (No mention of where, since that is up in the air due to events in that region.) He said he had a lot to say about Reigns, but out of respect he’d save it for when they’re face to face. Trick’s music interrupted and he made his way out as fans chanted, “Whoop that Trick!” Graves said Trick won’t take kindly to being referred to as a vulture. Graves said Lil Yachty was at home recovering after what happened to him last Saturday.

Sami called for his music to stop. Fans kept chanting. Trick said, “What’s up gingivitis.” He said apparently Sami has made hit personal. He said he can’t stand it because every time he sees Trick, it reminds him of fans turning on him and what happened at WrestleMania. He said he’s “a real superstar.” He said he doesn’t care about Sami or his “ride or die fans,” but because he disrespected him two weeks ago, he’s going to beat his ass. Sami said, “I’m sorry, you think I disrespected you?”

Sami said Trick turns everything into a joke because he doesn’t get it. He said he doesn’t have it, but he thinks he does. He said he doesn’t know when it’s time to joke and when it’s time to get serious. He said he thrives in the chaos of the moment. He said he always finds a way to survive. He said Trick lacks survival skills to survive in his jungle. “I taste the electricity on my tongue and always find a way to survive,” he said.

Trick asked Samni with as serious a tone as he’s ever had, “Do I look like I’m freakin’ joking, Sami?” Sami took a step back. He asked Sami between them who looks like a joke. He said tonight he’s done talking. He said if Sami is as bad as he says he is, take a swing and see what happens.

Johnny Gargano stepped between them and took the mic and said that’s the WWE Champ he is disrespecting. He said he has been handed opportunities that they would kill for. He asked if he knows what they’ve been through. He said Trick has the swag, the entrance, and he has “it,” but he doesn’t have the WWE Title. “Until you do, you will show us the respect we deserve.” He said they don’t call him Johnny Entrance, they call him Johnny Freakin’ Wrestling for a reason.

Trick said he works as hard as anyone, so how about they skip more talking and wrestle. Sami said, “You’re on.” Gargano nodded. [c]

(1) TRICK WILLIAMS vs. JOHNNY GARGANO (w/Candice LeRae)

The match was joined in progress 17 minutes into the hour. Joseph applauded Sami for being at Smackdown after wrestling in a WWE live event the previous night in Winnipeg. Gargano rolled to ringside at 3:00. Trick pursued him and rammed him into the announce desk. Sami distracted Trick briefly. Gagano then yanked Trick by his leg into the ropes with a Dragon Screw. Trick fell to ringside. Gargano kicked him and dove through the ropes and knocked him into the announce desk. Sami stood and hugged Gargano as they cut to a double-box break at 4:00. [c/db]

Trick rallied after the break and gave Gargano a flapjack onto his shoulder. Trick looked at his hand and then slapped Gargano hard. Trick stomped Gargano. to the beat of “Whoop that Trick!” Gargano surprised Trick with a sunset flip for a two count. Trick came back with a big boot and a Michinoku Driver for a two count. LeRae distracted Trick. Gargano rolled him up from behind and yanked on his tights for a two count.

Gargano landed a tornado DDT off the second rope for a two count. Trick caught Gargano mid-air with a Trick Shot and then a Book End for the win.

WINNER: Trick in around 12:00.

-A video package aired with highlights of the women’s Money in the Bank match.

-GM Nick Aldis told Blake Monroe things have gotten out of hand between her and Giulia. Monroe said he should earn his paycheck and do something about it. He said next week, they’re wrestling in a streetfight. Chelsea. Green walked in. Monroe told Green she held it longer than she anticipated. Aldis told Green he told Raw GM Adam Pearce that he didn’t appreciate him putting his champion at risk on Raw so close to Crown Jewel. Nikki Bella walked in and said she’ll get her title shot after she beats Paige tonight. Green said she’d love nothing more than that and proposed next week. Nikki said she’s busy with Hall of Fame stuff next week, but she’d see her in two weeks.

-Paige made her entrance. [c]

-Joseph plugged the Cody-Randy Orton face-t0-face segment later.

(2) PAIGE vs. NIKKI BELLA

Nikki’s ring entrance aired next. The bell rang 38 minutes into the hour. Nikki charged and tackled Paige and then threw her out of the ring. Graves defended Nikki and then bickered with Joseph as he talked about how Nikki cheated. Graves said there are no asterisks next to wins and losses. Paige beat up Nikki at ringside. Nikki retreated up the aisle. Paige caught up with her and threw her back into the ring. Nikki tossed Paige out of the ring seconds later, strutted, and then went for a slidekick, but Paige caught her between the ring apron and the ring and pounded on her. Paige kneed Nikki’s face several times, but Nikki snapped Paige’s neck over the rope and then threw her onto the floor. They cut to a break at 2:00. [c]

They fought back and forth after the break. Paige pinned Nikki with her leg on the middle rope for extra leverage. Joseph said it was “payback.”

WINNER: Paige in 9:00.

-Cathy Kelley interviewed R-Truth backstage. She asked how he approaches a match this personal. He said he is heartbroken. Truth said if Priest threw a party, he’d see he would give him the biggest gift and he’d say nice things in his card, but now they’re not friends after he stabbed him in the back. “You’re ass is mine,” he said. [c]

-A highlight package aired on the men’s MITB match.

-Backstage, Aldis asked Kevin Owens in the trainers room how he was doing. He said he was banged up, but his neck is good. He said he didn’t walk out with the MITB contract, but neither did CM Punk, so it was a pretty good night. Punk walked up to Owens and asked for a match. Aldis said for the good of the show, he needs them 100 percent. He said it does nothing for him if they don’t fight in the ring where he can sell tickets. He said in the mean time, do him a favor and stay out of each other’s way. Owens said Punk will follow him around. He walked away. Punk said he’s a child.

(3) DAMIEN PRIEST vs. R-TRUTH

As R-Truth made his entrance, Graves and Joseph commented on a clip of Priest turning on Truth. When Priest stepped onto the ring apron, Truth knocked him off the ring apron and then dove onto him at ringside. Joseph noted the bell hadn’t sounded yet. Truth returned to the ring. Priest slid into the ring and the ref called for the bell 59 minutes into the hour. Truth went on the early attack. Joseph said Truth is one of the most genuine people they know. Graves agreed. He said he always has a smile on his face.

[HOUR TWO]

Priest caught Truth with an elbow to cut off his John Cena routine and landed a Flatliner. Truth avoided Priest diving into the corner at him and Priest went head-first into the ringpost. Truth then hit Priest with a top rope dropkick. Both were slow to get up, though. The ref checked on Truth and backed Priest away. The ref called off the match.

WINNER: Priest via rop stoppage at 3:00.

-Priest brought a chair into the ring. Axiom and Nathan Frasier ran to the ring to stop Priest. Priest returned to the back as Truth was helped up.

-A replay aired of Cody Rhodes pinning Randy Orton at WrestleMania, but Orton kicking Cody in the face afterward. Graves plugged the Cody-Orton face-to-face later. [c]

-Clips aired of WWE wrestlers at “The Street Fighter” launch.

-Clips aired of Gunther attacking Danhausen last Friday on Smackdown.

-Gunther was in Aldis’s office and said he put him in a ring against someone he didn’t respect, and he actually did him a favor. He said as for Finn Balor, that’s what happens when someone puts their nose in his business. The office chair spun around and Danhausen was in it. He was wearing a sling and a neck brace. Gunther said he’s braver than Balor, whom he hasn’t seen all day. Gunther lifted Danhausen and asked if he looks like someone who celebrates Halloween. He said he’ll make sure it’s a special night for Danhausen, anyway.

-Joseph noted that Danhausen is the host of NXT Halloween Havoc.

-Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley made their entrance. A clip aired of the Women’s Tag Team Title win. Bliss said Charlotte has been such an amazing friend, and her opportunity to become champion again she set aside “because that’s the kind of friend she is.” She then introduced Paxley, her new partner. Fans chanted “You deserve it!”

Paxley smiled and said she feels grateful to be standing in the ring with her as tag champions. She also thanked Charlotte for giving up her position so she could still compete. She said when she’s all healed up and ready to come back, she has a special gift waiting for her. She whispered in her ear. Then Fatal Influence interrupted.

Jacy Jayne said that speed made her sick to her stomach and called it cringy. She complained about the booing fans. She said she was injured after putting her body on the line for them. She raged about Tiffany Stratton stealing the MITB opportunity right out from under her. Falon Henley and Lainey Reid did some trash talking too. Paxley said after they regain the titles, she’ll end up back in the shadow of Charlotte. Paxley said they don’t mind playing with them. They entered the ring. Paxley said she can’t do anything tonight, Henley and Reid can. Bliss and Paxley knocked Reid and Henley out of the ring and then beat up Paxley.

-Kelley interviewed Rey Fenix about Penta, his brother, winning MITB. He said he is so happy. Sami interrupted and addressed Fenix. (Kelley left with the mic, but we could still hear the wrestlers perfectly well.) Sami fished for intel on whether Penta is going to aim for Reigns. Fenix said he didn’t know. [c]

-Backstage, Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab confronted Fatal Influence backstage. B-Fab said they should’ve had the opportunity at the tag titles last week and said they’re next now.

(4) REY FENIX vs. RICKY SAINTS – AAA Cruiserweight Title

The bell rang 29 minutes into the hour. They cut to an early break. [c/db]

At 9;00, Saints shoved the ref into the ropes, which knocked Fenix off balance on the top rope. Fenix hung upside down. Saints then gave. him Roshambo. The ref, Charles Robinson, refused to count because of the shove. Saints stood and protested and then chest-butted him. Robinson disqualified him.

WINNER: Fenix via DQ in 10:00 to retain the AAA Cruiserweight Title.

-Saints gave Fenix another Roshambo. Graves said, “Saints has lost it.” Joseph said, “Saints has snapped!”

-A clip aired of Orton vs. Cody at SNME.

-Backstage, Cody was heading to the entrance tunnel when he crossed paths with Aldis. Cody told Aldis to tell him Orton is ready. Aldis said he hadn’t seen him. Cody said he’s positive Aldis did all he could, so he was heading to the ring to do all he can. [c]

-They plugged Giulia vs. Monroe in a street fight, MFTs vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Kyoki, and Bliss & Paxley vs. B-Fab & Michin for the Women’s Tag Titles.

-Cody made his entrance. He sat mid-ring and said he was promised a face-to-face and he was going to sit there until. Orton came out. Instead, Baron Corbin came out to his music.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING

WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS OCTOBER 16, 2026 SACRAMENTO, CALIF.
