Clips aired of last week’s angle where The Dogs joined The Bang Bang Gang to attack The Death Riders. Excalibur said they’re now known as The Cut. Excalibur talked about the history between White and Finaly going back to training in Japan, and then after going their separate ways, they have joined forces in AEW. The bell rang 5 minutes into the hour. Fans chanted “Moxley!” as Mox pumped his fist. White bailed out to avoid a lock-up, testing Mox’s patience. Finlay tagged in instead. The announcers discussed whether the turn by White and his cohorts was a long-con or last-second. Taz thought long con.

White and Finlay took control at 2:00 against Garcia. Garcia made a comeback and tagged Mox back in. White immediately tagged out, but then spun Mox around, opening him to a chop block by Finlay. Finlay stood on the second rope and played to the crowd, then tagged in White. Mox tagged Garcia back in at 5:00 to a crowd pop. He ended up shoving Finlay against White in the corner and punched away at them as fans counted along. He applied a leglock on White, but Finlay pulled him to safety at ringside. As Mox and Garcia jumped them at ringside, they cut to a double-box break at 7:00. [c/db]

After fighting at ringside, Finlay took control of Garcia in the ring. Garcia DDT’d Finlay. Both were down and slow to get up. Mox hot-tagged in and punched away at Finlay, then bit his forehead. He followed with a leaping piledriver. He knocked White off the ring apron, then threw him into the ringside stairs. Mox then put Finlay in some submission holds. White broke it up with a stomp. Mox hit a Paradigm Shift. Garcia asked to tag back in. Mox and Garcia took turns clotheslining White in the corner over and over as fans cheered along. Mox dove through the ropes and tackled Finlay at ringside as Garcia rolled up White for a near fall. Clark Connors ran out and yelled at the ref on the ring apron. Wheeler Yuta kicked Connors off the ring apron and pounded away at him at ringside. After fans cheered Yuta, Excalibur asked, “Did you ever think we’d by in a world where fans reacted to Wheeler Yuta like that?”

The ref was preoccupied with activity at ringside as Connors speared Garcia. White then hit Blade Runner for the win.

WINNERS: White & Finlay in 14:00.

-After the match, Juice Robinson and Gabe Kidd ran out to beat down the Death Riders. Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn joined them. Claudio Castagnoli ran out and made the save. He gut-wrench tossed Finlay out of the ring and then gave Connors a giant swing as fans cheered. The Death Riders stood together in the ring as The Cut retreated up the aisle. Mox asked, “Where do you think you’re going? We’re just getting started!” Mox challenged them to Anarchy in the Arena at Full Gear next month.

(Keller’s Analysis: Good tag match, and if this wasn’t a set-up for a larger faction vs. faction match at Full Gear, this would have felt decisively too soon to feature them in an unannounced tag match on Dynamite just one week after the angle. It felt like this match deserved more of a build-up. But it worked in terms of setting the stage for a post-match brawl with everyone that set up Mox’s challenge.)

-Lexi Nair interviewed Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander, and Harley Cameron. Willow suggested they have a Blood & Guts match. Cameron and Statlander quickly agreed and yelled “Blood and Guts!” together. [c]

(2) “PROTOSTAR” KYLE FLETCHER vs. “JUNGLE” JACK PERRY

The bell rang 30 minutes into the hour. Don Callis joined in on commentary. Fletcher rolled to ringside before locking up and walked over to Callis as fans chanted “F— Don Callis!” Fletcher asked Callis for a hug. They hugged. Callis kissed Fletcher on the cheek. “Why don’t you hug and kiss in the back?” Schiavone asked. Callis said, “I give my men what they need when they need it.” Schiavone said, “I don’t even want to go there.” Perry dropped to ringside and hugged Taz. Taz said, “Good rib, Jack.” He said he got sweat all over his suit.

Perry slid under the ring and came out another side and surprised Fletcher with a dropkick. Callis said it was illegal because “you’re not allowed to climb under the ring.” Perry dropped Fletcher over the ringside barricade and then leaped off the barricade and dropkicked Perry to the floor. When Fletcher took over again, they cut to a double-box break at 5:00. [c/db]

Perry made a comeback by ducking Fletcher and landing chops. He then hit a lariat and played to the crowd with a roar. Fletcher caught Perry flip-diving at him at ringside and then powerbombed him into the edge of the ring apron. They used a cool overhead camera view. Perry came back by yanking Fletcher off the ring apron with a diving head scissors and then a quick moonsault. Back in the ring he scored a two count.

Fletcher came back with a Snap Dragon suplex. Perry caught a charging Fletcher with a dropkick. Fletcher caught a showboating Perry with a running kick and a brainbuster suplex for a near fall. (Is there a difference between a “sheer-drop” brainbuster and a regular brainbuster suplex or did we just add an extra descriptive word somewhere along the line?) Perry bit Fletcher’s forehead to thwart a corner move. He apparently bit him in the crotch also before powerbombing him.

A minute later, Perry applied an STF. Fletcher reached the bottom rope to force a break. Perry looked to the crowd as he set up a Muscle Buster. Fletcher resisted. Perry countered with a huracanrana attempt. Fletcher resisted, but Perry landed it. he followed with a leap off the top rope, but Fletcher side-kicked him out of mid-air. Fletcher then suplexed Perry off the second rope and dropped Perry’s head and neck over the middle rope as he fell. Yikes. He scored a three count. “Nice career,” said Callis. “It might be over after that move.”

WINNER: Fletcher in 16:00.

-Afterward, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle entered and celebrated with Fletcher. They lifted him onto their shoulders. Fletcher then cut a promo from there. He said he just pinned someone who was at one time supposed to be a Pillar of AEW and last week he pinned a legend in Adam Copeland and the current AEW World Champion Will Ospreay. He said at Full Gear, Davis & Doyle will become AEW Tag Team Champions. He said he beat Ospreay at Full Gear before, so he dared Ospreay to give him a chance to do it again. He said nobody can touch him right now. He said he’ll prove it at Full Gear.

-A video package aired on Blood & Guts matches with Dean Malenko narrating the explanation of rules. He was credited at the start with a graphic.

-Renee Paquette introduced The New Level. Renee brought up their rematch for the Trios Titles at Full Gear. Austin Creed said they wanted to talk about something else first. He said Swerve Strickland last week talked about a Texas Death match. Kofi said he wants to clock out of work and take his son and daughter to their afterschool activities, not pay the price of a Texas Death match. Austin said it doesn’t sound appealing to have to die to win. Kofi said they don’t have to die, but they have to hate their opponents. “We haven’t been around long enough to hate those guys enough,” Kofi said. Austin said that, in fact, they kind of like Bandido, Brody King, and “Hangman” Adam Page. Austin said they’ll walk out of Full Gear as the new AEW Trios Champions. They swiveled their hips as they said it.

Brody King came out and looked upset. Austin asked if he knew where Swerve was and if he had something to do with it. Hangman marched out. He told Brody that he doesn’t know what Texas Death does to you. He said he lost years of his life in his feud with Swerve. “It nearly ruined me,” he said. He turned to Austin and Kofi and said he warned them that Swerve would show who he is. He said they don’t know where Swerve or Bandido is. He said, “No matter what happens, don’t give him what he wants.”

Prince Nana walked out. “What in the world is happening here?” asked Schiavone. A video played of Swerve walking up to a bloodied Bandido, carrying his mask. Bandido’s head was hanging forward with his hair covering his face. Swerve said the match at Full Gear isn’t quite good enough. He demanded that they accept the match he asked for “because I’m not going to ask again.” He put Bandido’s mask back on him and walked away.

Brody was fuming in the ring. Hangman had to hold him back from going after New Level. Austin and Kofi denied any involvement. Hangman told Brody emphatically, “Do not give him what he wants!” Brody ran to the back.

(Keller’s Analysis: I’m relieved they showed restraint with the Swerve-Bandido situation and kept it in the playing field of pro wrestling. Austin and Kofi moved more back to their New Day schtick in this promo. Hangman made Texas Death matches feel super-dangerous effectively. I liked New Level saying they didn’t hate anyone in AEW enough yet to want that type of match.)

[HOUR TWO]

[c]

-The Don Callis Family stood backstage. Callis praised Fletcher and said Ospreay has to be shaking in his boots. He said Davis & Doyle are going to not just take the AEW Tag Team Titles, but they’ll break The Young Bucks. He said he doesn’t know what Adam Copeland is thinking. Kazuchika Okada mocked-cried and said Copeland is saying, “My head hurts!” He told Darby Allin he’d have been much better off listening to him, but Josh Alexander is going to finish him. Josh talked about facing Darby later.

-Excalibur said Tony Khan made Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher official for Full Gear.

(3) FTR (Dash & Cash w/Stokely Hathaway) vs. THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) – Third match in a Best of Five series

The bell rang 6 minutes into the hour. After some back and forth action in the early minutes, Sabin and Shelley superkicked Dax and Cash, who bailed out to ringside. They cut to a double-box break. [c/db]

At 9:00, Dax took Sabin to the mat with a lariat. He followed with a superplex. Cash then landed a top rope splash for a near fall at 10:00. Shelley and Sabin gave Dax a Shatter Machine for a near fall. They followed with a combo splash for a near fall, with Cash breaking up the cover. (A strong break-up save, as Shelley was physically knocked off of Dax and Dax lifted his shoulder decisively.) Cash shoved Sabin into Shelley and then landed a Chaos Theory. Shelley rolled through and scored a leverage three count out of nowhere.

WINNERS: Motor City Machine Guns in 13:00 to go up 2-1 in the series

-After the match, the MCMGs offered a handshake. FTR accepted the offer. Stokely threw powder in their eyes. FTR attacked the MCMGs. They focused on Shelley’s knee. Fans booed. Cash said he was sorry at ringside afterward.

-Lexi interviewed Queen Aminata and Persephone backstage. Brit Baker was with Persephone and said to Aminata: “I am sorry that your big night is going to end in disappointment because, at the end of the day, we’re smart, you’re dumb; she’s big you’re little; I’m right, you’re wrong.” Aminata told Baker to stay out of it. She told Persephone she knows who she is and what she brings to the ring. She said a year ago she was removed from Blood & Guts due to a neck injury, so she’s going to be motivated to take her head off. Persephone said she has two belts and so Aminata will be begging for mercy.

-Tommaso Ciampa said Andrade cheated at WrestleDream “and the entire world saw it except the damn referee.” He said that’s why he attacked him last week, which is why Andrade isn’t there this week. He said he is the gift that keeps on giving. He said on Collision, he’ll be facing their hometown hero in St. Louis, Matt Sydal. He said the message is simple and clear. He said he wants his rematch and his title. He said he’ll prove he is the greatest damn signing in the history of AEW. A metronome clicked on the big screen and Ilja Dragunov walked out.

Dragunov entered the ring and asked if he wants to try to prove he’s the greatest signing. He said nothing is stopping him from facing him. Ciampa blinked hard and leaned his forehead into Dragunov, but then he backed away and said, “Not tonight, jackass.” He threw down the mic and rolled out of the ring.

-Paquette interviewed Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Orange Cassidy backstage. She asked where they fit into the mix. O’Reilly said The Cut seem “a little Conglomeration-obsessed.” Strong yelled, “Kyle!” He said he is sick of being laid out, so he challenged them to a three-on-three match at Collision and it can be any three of The Cut.

(4) MARINA SHAFIR (w/Jon Moxley) vs. RACHEL ARMSTRONG

The bell rang 32 minutes into the hour. Moxley joined in on commentary. Shafir kicked Armstrong in the head at the start. Mox said the hardest part for Shafir in recent years is just finding anyone who will agree to face her. She dropped Armstrong head-first onto her knee and then slammed her with a uranage followed by a Mother’s Milk sleeper for an immediate tapout.

WINNER: Shafir in 2:00.

-Shafir held the mic in the ring. She called out Mercedes. “Don’t be a little pussy now,” she said. Mercedes Mone’s music played and she walked out. Mercedes said if Marina wants to keep calling her a pussy, she clearly doesn’t know who she is. She said she’s a big deal and has more balls than she and her Death Rider crew combined. She told her not to mistake being dangerous with being ready for Mercedes Mone. She slapped Shafir. Fans chanted, “You f—ed up!” Shafir held her chin out and dared her to slap her again. Mercedes did three times. Shafir round-kicked Mercedes toward her head, but Mercedes ducked. Ace Austin, Connors, and Finlay attacked Mox. Shafir chased Mercedes into the crowd. Gabe Kidd ran out to sacv Mox. Connors hit Kidd with a tire iron. Garcia and Yuta showed up. Jay White directed Juice, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn to run to ringside and attack Garcia and Yuta. The heels gathered in the ring. Claudio walked out with a trash can. He KO’d a charging Austin Gunn with it. He slammed Connors onto the can while it was upright. He caught a diving Ace Austin and tossed him aside.

In the ring, Juice smashed Claudio with a chair. Claudio brushed it off. Fans chanted, “You f—ed up!” Claudio shoved Juice over the top rope. Conors swung a tire iron at him, but Claudio blocked it. White went for a low blow from behind, but Claudio blocked it with a tire iron. He rammed White and Juice together. Connors attacked Claudio with a shillelagh. The heels stood together. Juice got on all fours and lifted his leg to simulate a dog peeing on Claudio.

Mox recovered and tried to fight back at ringside, but he was swarmed. White gave a Blade Runner to Claudio onto exposed concrete. Juice pretended to pee on him again. [c]

(5) DARBY ALLIN vs. JOSH ALEXANDER – TNT Title match

Renee did a ringside report talking about Darby’s schedule this week including CMLL in Mexico City and then a New York City marathan. Alexander attacked Darby from behind. The ref (ridiculously) rewarded the pre-match illegal attack by calling for the bell 47 minutes into the hour. Callis join in on commentary and gushed about Alexander. Darby didn’t even have his jacket removed when Josh dove at him and knocked him to the floor. Callis said Steven Borden made a huge mistake trusting Darby and he would have been better off in the Don Callis Family. Josh threw Darby around ringside including into the ringside steps.

As Darby fought back, fans chanted “Darby! Darby!” Alexander release-German suplexed Darby onto the ring apron. Alexander wrapped Darby’s arm awkwardly around the ringpost. Fans chanted, “F—-, Don Callis!” Darby knocked Alexander off the top rope onto the ring apron. Callis stood up, worried. They cut to a double-box break. [c/db]

Darby back elbowed out of another German suplex attempt on the ring apron. He then climbed to the top rope and went for a Coffin Drop onto Alexander. Alexander caught him and gave him a released German suplex onto the floor. Darby landed on his head. Alexander threw Darby into the ring. Darby caught Alexander on the ring apron and bashed his head against the apron. He then dove through the ropes at Alexander with a flying elbow. Both were down at ringside. Darby held his right elbow in pain, then stood and threw Alexander into the ring.

Back in the ring, Darby yanked off Alexander’s head gear and then applied a Scorpion Deathlock mid-ring. Darby leaped off the top rope and gave Alexander a Coffin Drop as he was caught up in the ropes. They both dropped to the floor. Fans chanted, “Darby! Darby!” Darby grabbed a chair at ringside and set it up. He put Alexander on the chair, then climbed again to the top rope. Alexander rolled off the chair and out of range. Alexander swept Darby’s leg on the ring apron, then set up two chairs.

Alexander leaped off the ring apron with a tombstone piledriver onto both chairs. Fans chanted “Holy shit!” Back in the ring, Alexander scored a two count. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero ran to ringside. Steven Borden in a clown mask hit Beretta from the front row. (How did he know to be hanging out right there where Beretta stood at ringside? Anyway…) Alexander stomped on Darby’s head and then wrenched on an anklelock. Darby reversed it and bridged Alexander’s shoulders down for a three count.

WINNER: Darby in 16:00 to retain the TNT Title.

-Excalibur plugged Collision’s scheduled matches as Darby was helped to the back. [c]

-Backstage, Borden stood next to an exhausted Darby. Borden said next week he’s teaming with The Young Bucks, even though they have a lot of history. He assured Callis he wasn’t being forced into Blood & Guts, but rather he wanted it. He said one ring, two cages is nothing new to the Borden family. He listed Adam Copeland, Ospreay, and The Bucks as his partners along with Darby, “who I trust a lot more than you, Don.” Darby said he doesn’t want to talk, “I want blood and I want guts!”

(6) PERSEPHONE (w/Britt Baker) vs. QUEEN AMINATA – TBS Title match

Renee did a ringside report and said Aminata has become a different wrestler since her match at Grand Slam France against Mercedes. She said it was only a matter of time before everyone realizes who she is and what she can do. The bell rang 14 minutes into the hour. They cut to an early double-box break. [c/db]

Persephone landed some German suplexes. When she went for a middle rope springboard moonsault, Aminata lifted her knees. She knocked Persephone to ringside. Aminata went after Persephone on the floor and knocked her into a chair at ringside. She then landed a running dropkick off the ring apron. Baker hit Aminata with the TBS Title belt as the ref was checking on Persephone. Persephone rolled Aminata into the ring and landed a top rope moonsault for a dramatic near fall. Baker let out a screech at ringside. Fans chanted, “Aminata! Aminata!” Aminata landed a headbutt and a running kick to the head for the win.

Aminata started to cry as the ref presented her with the belt. She stood and held the belt in the air.
