{"id":28841,"date":"2016-08-10T15:44:22","date_gmt":"2016-08-10T20:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/?p=28841"},"modified":"2016-08-10T15:51:36","modified_gmt":"2016-08-10T20:51:36","slug":"89-wwe-smackdown-tv-ratings-week-3-vs-olympics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2016\/08\/10\/89-wwe-smackdown-tv-ratings-week-3-vs-olympics\/","title":{"rendered":"8\/9 WWE Smackdown TV Ratings &#8211; Week 3 down vs. Olympics"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-1258834591\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><p><strong>By James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Week 3 of the Smackdown Live era tumbled against the Olympics, similar to Monday&#8217;s Raw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WWE Smackdown TV Ratings Tracking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>August 9:\u00a0<\/strong>WWE Smackdown scored a 1.69 TV rating, down nine percent from last week&#8217;s 1.86 rating.<\/p>\n<p>Smackdown drew 2.455 million viewers, down 8.4 percent (about 226,000 viewers) from last week&#8217;s audience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; DEMOGRAPHICS: Smackdown was down about one-tenth of a rating in adults 18-49 and males 18-49.<\/p>\n<p>Males 18-34 was down less than one-tenth as the only demo to be consistent over the first three weeks of the &#8220;new era&#8221; for Smackdown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caldwell&#8217;s Analysis:\u00a0<\/strong>Smackdown has one more week against the Olympics next Tuesday for the pre-Summerslam episode, then WWE really needs to find an identity for Smackdown Live after Summerslam. Not having John Cena and A.J. Styles available this week hurt the show&#8217;s star power, but it&#8217;s more about Smackdown not getting much of a boost from a production and presentation standpoint with the &#8220;cool ideas&#8221; going to Raw. Too much of Smackdown Live feels like the skippable, &#8220;old era&#8221; Smackdown.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1796341583\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The 1.69 rating itself is in-between the First Quarter and Second Quarter average of taped Thursday night shows.
