Then we get highlights from the past four weeks of Smackdown while Shane McMahon plays Buzzword Bingo on the voiceover.<\/p>\n<p>Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan open the show by thanking the crowd.\u00a0 I know we&#8217;re setting the bar low, but how about we never call the Smackdown crew &#8220;Team Blue&#8221; again?\u00a0 That&#8217;d be a great start.<\/p>\n<p>David Otunga&#8217;s the only person here who could get away with calling Naomi the dark horse in this match. \u00a0Fortunately, he&#8217;s the one who said it.<\/p>\n<p>So, the opening match is a six-way for the WWE\u00a0<del>Divas<\/del>, I mean Smackdown Women&#8217;s Title. \u00a0If the Raw belt was designed by Strawberry Shortcake, the Smackdown belt was designed by her good friend Huckleberry Pie.<\/p>\n<p>I hate to say it, but Mauro Ranallo&#8217;s better when paired with JBL.\u00a0 With Daniel Bryan, you have two super excited announcers, and that only works on Fox College Football broadcasts.<\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed Mauro putting Alexa Bliss over as the shortest person on the roster.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t believe him until I remembered El Torito had been released.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re giving Carmella a lot to do during this match, which is\u2026an interesting choice.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1283685028\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>I finally figured out Alexa Bliss&#8217;s gimmick. \u00a0In honor of former PWTorch writer Mark Madden, WWE has made Alexa the Cruiserweight Bully.<\/p>\n<p>Wait, this is an elimination match? \u00a0Talk about interesting choices. \u00a0Anyway, Alexa&#8217;s gone and Naomi is gone.<\/p>\n<p>Nikki eliminates Nattie with an Argentine backbreaker. \u00a0Carmella rolls up Nikki and grabs a handful of&#8230;um&#8230;ah. \u00a0Anyway, Nikki&#8217;s eliminated.<\/p>\n<p>Becky makes Carmella tap to the Disarmer, and the crowd loves it. \u00a0The right person wins the title.<\/p>\n<p>Miz meets up with Jagger Eaton backstage. Jagger fails to compliment Miz on his awesome Galaxy Quest jumpsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Bray Wyatt beats up Randy Orton backstage. \u00a0Looks like Randy&#8217;s injured. \u00a0Gee, if only Orton had read the PWTorch homepage, this could have been avoided.<\/p>\n<p>David Otunga points out how stupid it is that the Usos earned another shot in the tournament by injuring Chad Gable. \u00a0I&#8217;m sorry, that made entirely too much sense for the commentary table. \u00a0Let&#8217;s get Booker T warmed up in the bullpen.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the Hype Bros versus The Usos.\u00a0 Actually, this does feel like the second match of a pay-per-view, so mission accomplished.<\/p>\n<p>The Usos hit a double chop block, and one of them makes Zach tap to a half-crab.\u00a0 It&#8217;ll be another five months before Ryder turns on Mojo, but it&#8217;ll be worth the wait.<\/p>\n<p>Heath Slater&#8217;s ready for his team&#8217;s big title match. \u00a0He&#8217;s psyched. \u00a0Oh, by the way, Heath&#8217;s wife may have put some bad surimi in the crab dip. \u00a0But I&#8217;m sure that won&#8217;t, um, come up during the in-ring segment.<\/p>\n<p>The Miz faces Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship, as we&#8217;re in Day 2,830 of Miz&#8217;s never ending I\/C title reign.<\/p>\n<p>Backstage, Miz wants to renegotiate his deal, or he&#8217;s jumping to Raw. \u00a0Ha! \u00a0Like Stephanie&#8217;s going to pay better than Shane.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to know why I don&#8217;t bet on sporting events, go ahead and flip over to NBC for a few seconds. \u00a0I&#8217;ll wait.<\/p>\n<p>This is a longer and surprisingly good match, ending with Maryse spraying the atomizer into Dolph&#8217;s eyes to give Miz the win. \u00a0Can we turn Dolph heel already? \u00a0Nobody&#8217;s going to cheer for him until we do.<\/p>\n<p>We go to the Hall of Fame panel, who laugh at Ziggler for being a chump.<\/p>\n<p>Our next match will be Bray Wyatt against what&#8217;s left of Randy Orton. \u00a0Can&#8217;t wait.<\/p>\n<p>Orton can&#8217;t get doctor&#8217;s clearance, so Bray wins this one by forfeit.\u00a0 Fantastic.\u00a0 Sorry to any of the paying customers out there who wanted a semi main event.<\/p>\n<p>Wait.\u00a0 We DO have a suitable substitution for Randy, and it&#8217;s Kane!\u00a0 Kane versus Bray Wyatt in a no holds barred match.\u00a0 It&#8217;s better than nothing.<\/p>\n<p>We have serious time to kill, so let&#8217;s brawl around the ring and use chairs.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to answer a question no once has asked.\u00a0 Is anything happening here at Backlash that we couldn&#8217;t have done Tuesday night on Smackdown?\u00a0 Not so far.<\/p>\n<p>Bray gets a running start and sentons Kane through the announce table. \u00a0I stand corrected.<\/p>\n<p>Look, they&#8217;re trying, and this isn&#8217;t hateful or anything.\u00a0 But we&#8217;ve seen Kane versus Bray Wyatt a dozen times.\u00a0 I&#8217;m pretty sure the point was to give Orton and Wyatt something new.<\/p>\n<p>Randy hobbles to the ring, hits Wyatt with an RKO from not quite outta nowhere, and Kane gets the win.<\/p>\n<p>AJ Styles makes fun of a couple of indy guys backstage. \u00a0But unlike\u00a0the others, at least he&#8217;s saying it to their face.<\/p>\n<p>WWE No Mercy returns in four weeks. \u00a0Really? \u00a0Do you mean it?<\/p>\n<p>Heath Slater &amp; Rhyno vs. The Usos. \u00a0The fans, who desperately want something of note to happen, cheer for Slater.<\/p>\n<p>Time for Slater to take the heat.\u00a0 And take it.\u00a0 And\u2026take it.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, Rhyno gores an Uso and Slater gets the pin. \u00a0Slater and Rhyno are your Smackdown tag team champions! \u00a0I&#8217;m really happy for them. \u00a0Now, we need to do something about the look of those belts&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Interview.
