The goal was to &#8220;engage in the extortion of Terry Bollea.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Spiceboy claimed that he obtained the tapes from a yard sale to continue the ruse. He also tried leaking pictures to TheDirty.com and TMZ to build interest for the bigger play of selling the video, which was eventually leaked to Gawker.<\/p>\n<p>Spiceboy also involved the best friend of his wife, identified as Lori Burbridge, to be a middle-person in the dealings. According to the report, Burbridge co-operated with\u00a0police detectives in the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear at this point how police\u00a0are proceeding with the new\u00a0aspect of this case.<\/p>\n<p>A follow-up report by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wtsp.com\/story\/news\/local\/2015\/11\/17\/hulk-hogan-bubba-the-love-sponge-clem-gawker-10-investigates\/75969132\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa 10 News<\/a>\u00a0notes that prosecutors are not planning to file charges as it relates to\u00a0the alleged extortion.<\/p>\n<p>Hillsborough State Attorney Mark Ober reportedly believes that he does not think he could\u00a0get a conviction despite taped recordings and other evidence. Hogan lost his WWE job over the summer when portions of the audio track containing racist rants were made public.
